Maybe Tumbleweed was already a ghost town in 1899. Not like 50 years passed until RDR1.

The latest tomb in the cemetery is from 1907. By 1899 should be still alive, probably in its downfall already.

If we don't become the cause of Tumbleweeds downfall somehow, I'll be disappointed lol

And yes, I'm aware of the lore about the railway bypassing it which led to it's decline. But still. Would be cool if we did something... bad, there...

Brought that up about a hundred pages ago.  I would actually go look for it.  It was a very good, in depth discussion. :)

...and it was talked about a hundred pages before that, and a hundred pages before that, and a hun... ad infinitum 😉

But yeah, itll be cool. The arrival of the railroad in Armadillo is stated as the reason Tumbleweed went to sh*t, which wasnt that long ago, so...it should he jumpin in 1899. Plus, I think the latest grave marker has a date of 1906, or somewhere around that time...

I haven't seen much speculation on this scene. I'm thinking somewhere around Braithwaite Manor, Catfish Jacksons or Shady Belle, looking south/ south-east?

I guess there's not much to go on besides it being riverside/ lakeside. It could also be closer to Saint Denis, or even near Bluegill Marsh, specifically right near Lakay, looking east with the small island in view?

I've been trying to find similarities in the mountains of any images that show southern mountains (mainly the desert/ Mexico mountains), though I think the mountains we can see in this image are different from the Mexico ones that we've seen in desert images.

I think we should start placing bets on whether or not the RD1 map is back in the game before the inevitable leak of the map. I'm gonna go with New Austin is back and Mexico is gone.

Mate we already know it's back. Offical screenshots are in New Austin. The only thing in question is Mexico atm.

I’m thinking leaked map with some changes/added areas + RDR1 map (Mexico included) + south of the lake and filler areas all around the leaked map to line up with all the little comments about being able to go over the mountains, being able to get to everything you can see, etc.

I’m optimistic but I know it will be great no matter what. No ragrets!

Well some people think New Austin will be like North Yankton and not available in free roam.

I think you're spot on. That's swamp water alright. Judging by the small island above Arthur's left shoulder, it could be just above Shady Belle, or east of Saltwater Strand.

Obviously, it hasn't been officially confirmed but we've seen 2 different species of LIZARD in a desert area.  There isn't a desert area in the new areas (the 3 new states) and I can't fathom R* creating a desert biome just for the sake of a North Yankton / single mission scenario.

I thought it was confirmed when they announce all those RDR2 things a while back? The train figure where it said it go through the different states like New Austin.

NA is back. Why does this keep getting brought up? The description of the train... Armadillo in the trailer... reviewers saying so...

I agree, but we have clear visuals of Nuevo Paraiso that, in my opinion, were released by R* strategically.  Nuevo Paraiso isn't mentioned in in the 3D train puzzle, but it's not part of America / not a state and there's a possibility the rails haven't been extended into that area yet.

The biggest thing about those who expect NA but not NP is the river... even if the river or entire map was scaled 2:1 in RDR II and the current was super strong, we'd still be able to cross it even though Arthur can't swim that well.  It's not that big.  The railroad, roads, and cable ferry may not have been built yet, but we still have boats.  It's difficult to truly believe NA is in but not NP.

Personally, I’m betting on NP. Really counting on more to Mexico that’s south of the leaked map.

Yeah and why I do think there's a big chance that NP is included, it's smaller than NA and if R* is gonna remake NA then why not do the same with NP...

I wouldn't have thought they would have created North Yankton just for the sake of a North Yankton type scenario either but here we are

The place even has easter eggs

I'd like for that area south of Flat Iron Lake to be in the game but I'm not counting on it.  I'm not even necessarily counting on New Austin and Nuevo Paraiso, but with the info we have I'd definitely bet on it.  If it's not in the game, so be it... but West Elizabeth, New Hanover, Lemoyne, Ambarino, and the bodies of water is not bigger than GTAV's map.

I'll say it would be some pretty dirty f*cking pool to show Armadillo in the gameplay trailer and not have it fully explorable

Hearing that the entire rdr map is in game and somewhere I heard somebody say that we’re really gonna be surprised keeps me optimistic. I’m really wanting Mexico more than I actually expect it though lol. Won’t be disappointed either way.

It annoys me how the rockstar people were like "you can go PAST the mountains" and not one previewer asked "well what's back there?" or said "f*ck, let's go then"

That one gilla monster image was teasing NA too; Somewhat teases NP also. If R* keeps NA from us at this point it’s a bigger bastard move than when they teased gta v sp dlc then racked up on online haha

At any rate I am 100% certain that Armadillo is in the game in some form. We will see it. It's not even a tease. They even updated how it looks for 1899

Well rdr’s map is actually not that much smaller than the leaked map (on most comparisons I’ve seen) if that’s the case there’s like a third of the map we’re totally unaware of.

Yea I hear you, but North Yankton is a little bit different no?  It's an area that has a lot to do with the beginning of the story and is most likely nowhere near San Andreas.  New Austin is just barely across small bodies of water at West Elizabeth's southern point.  You can see it clear as day from there.

I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, just pointing out the differences.

I think past the mountains means past Cochinay, into the southern area of Big Valley.  The western most part of the Grizzlies may also be considered "past the mountains".  Just guessing here.

I honestly don't see how they could block off New Austin. I remember there's like a five foot span of water separating West Elizabeth from Thieve's Landing, if Arthur can swim at all he can swim that gap

Maybe wasted ressources. I honestly can not see me roaming the old well known map this often, when I am able to experience a complete new part.

I assume that R* has altered the old map in many ways, IF it is really fully in RDR2...
