I swear someone managed to go into rdr1 and go to the same place that screenshot was in. That little bit of what looks like buildings on the right is Blackwater. And that main lake bit is the flat iron lake.

Yes, it's Flat Iron Lake.  I labeled it as such.

No, it's not Great Plains and Blackwater.   There's no corn silo like that in Blackwater.  There's no great big dark brown building like the sawmill to the SE of Blackwater.   No, there's no sheep in the Great Plains.  In fact, there's literally only one place sheep can be found in RDR1, and that's in a small pen in Armadillo...you can earn a bounty for shooting them.

It's Shepherd's Rise.  Trust.  🤠

Cutter De Blanc

the cut off top of the brand names matches the cut off bottom part if someone wants to fix that

Could Ambarino (Amber) be based on Colorado (Red), meaning it is actually only the area of the leaked map that the Grizzlies are in? Maybe there’s no grand expansion beyond those mountains or to the South at all.

There's no arid deserts in a northern climate like that, with gila monsters and saguaro and organ pipe cacti.   It's Sonoran type desert.  Very hot, very dry.  Arizona and Mexico only.   The amber is most likely a reference to the color of the sand shown in the shot in the gameplay trailer, a dark yellow-orange.

I don't actually see any sheep, just horses. Is that a corn silo? I thought it was just a church or a building.

I'm also trying to find the image comparing the spot to RDR1, but I can't be bothered to read through a hundred pages.

I think you may have misunderstood me. Colorado means Red, wheres Amberino means Amber. The names are strikingly similar, even though the climate of Colorado does not necessarily match it's name. It is possible the climate of Amberino does not match it's either and we know the Grizzlies are likely based on the Colorado Rockies anyway. I'm just trying to be realistic here.

Edit: I was never suggesting Amberino was the desert from the trailer at all.

Ambarino sounds like it could be a desert region. Maybe it’s a providence in Mexico or southwestern state.

The Grizzlies dominate half the map.   You're suggesting a new region would be even more frozen mountains...?  What for?

It's just simple math.   They posted a shot of a very Arizona, very Mexico desert, and promised sweeping deserts.  Now we hear of a state called Ambarino coming to the map, along with the return of New Austin.   New Austin is a Chihuahuan desert, and is definitely not the one shown in the gameplay trailer.  It stands to reason Ambarino is that Sonoran desert region.   Mexico, Arizona, either one....why wouldn't it be?

I never once suggested Amberino was a new region, you keep putting words in my mouth. Just as The Heartlands became New Hanover, I'm suggesting that The Grizzlies are now called Amberino. Before writing a paragraph in response, please actually read what I'm trying to say.

Edit: I feel like you are just going to argue because I am suggesting something you don't want. I don't have the energy for this so I will not even bother responding next time.

Not Blackwater, not Great Plains.

And Courthouse/Jailhouse Rocks would be almost due north of Blackwater, not far away, almost due east.   That's the vantage point of Shepherds Rise.

And again, check it on 4K.   I'm running 1080p at best, but at 4K, it's crystal clear.  I just can't download at that res.

New Austin, the area around Armadillo anyways, is 100% central/southwest Arizona desert.

Looks like rocks to me. Although I'll admit my eyesight isn't perfect. But that big ole wooden blob looks like blackwater to me, the port is just being hidden by the buildings.

Also, I was watching the trailer through a 4k download but I have a 1080p monitor.

Courthouse and Jailhouse Rocks are by Emerald Ranch. That is a little more north than Blackwater, but it's much further east than what you seem to be suggesting. That shot is from Broken Tree. We saw the tree, on top of the little stone walls around it. You can go there in game right now and be proven wrong if you'd like. It is definitely not Shepherd's Rise, as we've seen right around that area so far too. Big Valley is far too rocky and full of trees to resemble anything like what you're showing in pictures.

This is Broken Tree, and this is where we are looking from in those shots.

That's definitely Blackwater bro... You are digging a bit too deep here. What you have labeled as "Silo" is that government building that is in Blackwater. And given that they have expanded just about everything in this game, it wouldn't be out of place for them to have sheep roaming the Great Plane's this time around. Though what you have labeled as "Sheep" look more like rocks..

Yeah, I have to agree. That's obviously Blackwater, as viewed from Broken Tree on the Great Plains.

If you use stills from the 4K footage, as I do, you can easily make out the Church Steeple, and to the right of it, the Town Hall clock tower. (to the right of that is more of the town).

And here's a video of the area in RDR1 I just uploaded:

The Nefarious

Kind of disappointed that New Austin is back tbh. My only hope now is that they've expanded it a bit to the North in order to replace NP and that we do actually get a new area of Mexico.

Easier to read when you post the negative of that picture.

Looks a lot more like "New Bordeaux" for that tooth paste instead of "New Mondeaux"....New "Mondeaux" was probably 'shopped by an overzealous editor.   In any event, it reconfirms New Bordeaux in the pre-St. Denis days.

I don't think it looks like "New Bordeaux" at all. It's clearly "New Mondeaux." I even pulled some letters from elsewhere in the logo (M,B,N,R) for side-by-side comparison. I can't think of a reason to conclude that some editor (a Rockstar graphical editor? A 3rd party vendor working for Rockstar?) would take it upon themselves to "photoshop" one word within all of the logos on that page. But, if they DID, then I guess we have to assume that some or all of the rest of the logos have been photoshopped for some reason.

And I don't understand what you mean by your last sentence. What is being confirmed? and how/why is that confirmation being determined?

We'd be forced to generate a map by piecing together landmarks in various scenes from the videos and stills. In fact, a lot of us (me included) refused to use the leaked map for a long time, preferring to use only "official" footage for mapping purposes. But, that said, once it became clearer that the leak was legit, it really sped up the process that brought us to where we are, haha.

Courthouse and Jailhouse Rocks are by Emerald Ranch.

I was pretty sure that CH and JH rocks were closer to Heartland Oil Fields and Cornwall Kerosene & Tar. In my mind, since the release of the first trailer, that's what I thought those structures were that the riders were passing...wooden oil derricks. And more recently, I felt like CH and JH are represented as black dots in that area (see my image, below). But, I could be wrong. What do you think?

Due to the new recent information, I have the feeling the map is a lot bigger as we initiately thought. In scale, but also in additional regions.

This one I'm a little more sure of....in the flyby of Courthouse Rock, that crossroads is unmistakeably right below it.    The Emerald Ranch notation is probably off, as it's probably below that ridge in the distance; the house and trees silhouetted there are unmarked buildings on the map.

3TqhMjJ.jpg

It's possible that the house on that ridge is the one I marked "Sod House?" as shown; the wooden house here surrounded by sodbuster outbuildings.

I was trying to say it wasnt Blackwater many pages back. I pointed out the buildings and the rocks, but the majority believed it was Blackwater because if that viral twitter post with the matching scenes with RDR1.

Again, not saying i was right, i just thought i'd mention that i thought the same thing. I just thought it was further in-land, like Lone Mule back then.

no no like the state of amberino is where the grizzlies are, much like the rockies are in colorado meaning ruddy or red in colour noting to do with the desert shot which is gaptooth

now here us out

the county of the grizzlies  is in the state of amberino
