Should I uninstall the game? (PC)

Hello everyone,

 

I was doing a 1v1 with a friend last night, when all of sudden, completely out of nowhere, I get a massive FPS drop, from a smooth 55-60 to around 5fps.

The game was basically unplayable.

I was told there was a modder in the session, and I thought to myself it's just a temporary issue caused by a degenerate script-kiddie.

 

But today I load the game, and to my shock, the problem persists. I've been playing the game for well over a year now, and this never happened before.

 

Are there any quick fix solutions, other then uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

You can try something Rockstar support suggested to me - my game was unplayable just after PC launch, and this seemed to resolve the matter.

For the standalone, Rockstar Warehouse version

1. Hit "Start", "Run", and type "cmd" without the quotes. Hit enter.

2.Type "cd c:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V" without the quotes in the cmd window that pops up. Hit enter.

Note: If you’ve installed the game to a different directory, enter that directory instead.

1. Type "GTAVLauncher.exe -verify" in this window (no quotes again) and hit enter.

For the Steam version

1.Right click the game in the “Library” tab.

1. Click “Properties”.

2. Click the “Local Files” tab.

3. Click “Verify integrity of game cache…”

 

​If that doesn't work, I'd wait for a better answer before uninstalling in any case!
