How full is your harddrive

Does it really matter how full your harddrive is? I never knew.

How full does it have to be before it starts getting affected?

Usually, more full it is, the more sluggish it becomes because it has to read through so many files and over time files will just get randomized and all that jazz.. Least that's the PC nerd in me talking. Defragging will sometimes help as that will "sort" all the files to where they're supposed to be.And is defragging the same as rebuilding the database?

Mine has gotten sluggish at times, i guess the 80+Gb of captures and video needs to go

Actually had to go through all my captures yesterday and delete games I haven't touched in weeks.

I like how this is a platform thread and PS4 issues are dominating the thread.

 

I was thinking PS4 over XBone but may move Xbone over PS4 for second place behind the PC.

I agree with this (I'm sorry PC guys and girls, but the modder thing needs to be quarantined).

 

Yeah, as much as I would love to play alongside PS4 players, etc. I can appreciate that point. It can get pretty crazy, like last summer (2015)...talk about wild! Even though not all script kiddies are malicious, the simultaneous spawning of hordes of items around the map can affect frame rates...

 

But(!) it would likely make finding matches for DMs, Captures, LTS, etc. for Daily Objectives a breeze!

 

PC here and it's the only way to go.

 

Our graphics and most importantly, the chat screen, is what makes this game so fun. We can instantaneously communicate as we please.

 

Well, not quite--R* really needs to make chat text asynchronous, so my long, carefully-typed sentence doesn't get instantly vaporized by Mors Mutual calling, or any of the plethora of animations that constantly cut-off chat. Grrr.

Also they should give us hotkeys. Press x,y,z and we get directed to Lester. Taking screenshots and videos are great because we get hotkeys for that.

If you have the money, spring for an

PS4 has slightly better specs than the xbox one but Xbox has better fanbase I mean you wont hear people at mic playing PPAP on xbox unlike the PS4 but if you own a pc (windows 10) then xbox one would be a better companion for your pc and both consoles are almost same but ps4 is more likely to get problems like mine does ( lag stuttering frame rates etc) but both support services (Playstation and Xbox) gets the job done and also if you shut your playstation from the outlet ( unplugging it) it is more likely to get f*cked unlike the xbox but its up to you im not a fanboy

As the title says why do you play on your specific platform and what is the reason you chose the specific platform for gta online?

 

Started playing on PS3, transferred to PS4. I already have a broad group of friends on PS4, and my characters are set.

 

 

I also have the game on PC but only use it for mods.

I'm sure they have improved over the years but I'm still skeptical of investing that much into an SSD(1-2TB) that would suit my needs.

SSDs are a huge improvement over HDD. They contain no moving parts so there's less chance of failure

 

Shy of chucking it out of your window or putting a massive magnet on top, should be fine

Nothing under 60FPS is acceptable so I gone with PC. After that, playing on Xbox 360 felt stuttering and unresponsive so pretty much abandoned it to the point where when a thread about helping people get transfer exclusive items I noticed my Xbox 360 was dead.

 

While not a reason I bought it, precision is a big bonus I am glad about. Playing with both Keyboard+Mouse and controller is a blessing. Instantly switch from Key to Xbox controller when getting on aircraft or cars and switch right back when going on foot. Using Assisted Aim on controller even feels uncomfortable now.

 

Edit: Forgot an important reason I bought it for. I love that my music folder plays in the radio. Just left a shortcut to the folder and it all plays.

Can't really afford to get one at the moment. Money is tighter than a nun but hopefully get one in the future. Thanks for the insight and I already knew there was no moving parts. I've listened to my brother-in-law moan(positively) about them enough times(and yes, he's your typical asian stereotype down to the T).
