Unmarked police car

Well this is the first time I've seen an unmarked police car in the game. Was this a glitch or have others seen one?

If you found a cop NPC driving a civilian car, like in your case, he probably just commandeered it from a citizen, happens sometimes if the police NPC's cruiser despawned or got destroyed. They'll do anything to chase their target.

 

However, there is a proper unmarked cruiser in GTAV, it's called police4 in the game files, it's a Vapid Stanier without liveries and only cop lights in the interior. It appears in some story missions aswell as in some CEO crate missions since the executive update, so keep your eyes peeled as you will also be able to encounter those.

It's always been in the game, just rarely online. Back in the day, on 360, I had a modded one in my garage as a PV. Full armor, engine, tranny, brakes, turbo, black, tinted windows, custome plate.

 

Then C* in their infinite wisdom decided we can't have em. But invisible bodies, floating heads, God mode, wallbreaching is ok.

some police officer's steal npc cars when they are on a rampage lol i've seen a police guy pick up a rocket launcher kill a player and piss off in a taxi!

That's a Felon GT. Not a cop car.

 

I'm going to clear all this up before other forum members start pulling your leg...

 

When an officer in-game loses access to their cruiser, they resort to stealing civilian vehicles, which they'll use to chase you down.

 

Also, police vehicles typically have a little "SA EXEMPT" license plate. The above car just has a standard plate.

I think the cop just commandeered a civilian NPC's car.Sometimes hostile NPCs will get in the first vehicle they can get to chase after you.

Yeah that's just a Felon in the video but I did come across & stole an unmarked police car just recently.

 

When selling a small amount of coke, before shutting down the warehouse I was surprised to see that I had to meet the buyer just a couple of blocks away. When I got there it was a sting operation. The cops pounced & I had to lose them.

After losing them twice I went back to the spot to find the unmarked car still sitting there. A dark grey Stanier with cop lights in the grille & at the top of the windscreens.

I've seen two spawn during a police attack on my cocaine warehouse.

The best part is, you can't enter them at all!

 

I'm still baffled by some of these things R* have been doing...

Well having driven one around for a while I'd disagree, though cop cars at raids are locked. I suppose it must only be the sting.

It's recent.

The unmarked spawns used to be more common, but as of lately you cannot enter the Staniers.

 

Now, the unmarked Buffalo is a different story.

You even get one if you do Hostile Takeover as a CEO/VIP in LSIA.

Enterable and all.

I watched a cop in gtaiv steal a car from another cop.

Pretty common. When police are in pursuit they will gank any vehicle they can. I've even been chased down by my own PV.
