Ehhh.. I'd like to see them make both as good as possible. Sure I guess it would be nice to see them do a singleplayer expansion this time around, but I do also like the idea of constantly adding more to the multiplayer. My main problem with GTA V isn't that it would somehow be lacking in terms of singleplayer, I think the singleplayer is just fine. My problem is that despite the fact that R* has kept updating and adding more features to GTA Online for 3 years, it's still full of technical problems and generally bad game design. And my worry is that RDR Online will end up the same way, full of cool ideas, but most of it really badly executed.

Its pretty sad imo that people want more online stuff. Those people should stay in battlefield and gta land, dont ruin it for the real gamers

GTA and Battlefield players ARE real gamers. RDR players on other hand, are not, since RDR2 and RDR3 are the best games ever to them. Shows that they haven't played really awesome and great games.

The people have spoken, and the preference is overwhelmingly single player.

The business have spoken, and the preference is overwhelmingly Online.People who play single player GTA are true gamers, i agree. And the old veteran Battlefield players are too. But the new generation? No way. Anyone who supports EAs modern practices are not real gamers. GTA Online is a sad excuse for a GTA game, doesn't feel in any way like a true GTA game.

I hope for a balance between Single and Multiplayer. I hope for an Online that is as about in depth as GTAO was at start with one or 2 updates in between each Story DLC(that also adds some features to multiplayer). As long as they don't milk it like a cash (card) cow.

How is this even a question?

Singleplayer obviously.

Because people are different and have different opinions...? Some prefer playing like they live in that world, like in a simulation mode, eating, drinking even when you don't need to, pretending you live in there, others prefer to focus on community and playing with other people because all the pretending gets boring quickly to them.

you repete that real gamer thing as if it was a badge of honor lol

besides anyones plays what they like, multiplayer, singleplayer, call of duty, red dead, it doesn't matter, everyone who plays videogames as a hobby is a gamer

I understand the importance & fun to be had in SP.

But i want it MP focused very similar to GTAO ive had so much fun playing with my friends online that would never have been possible in SP.

Everyone has different opinions i respect that & this is mine.

Singleplayer. Definitely. Especially in the Red Dead series. If I want to hear whiney 12 year olds speaking foreign languages, I'll go into a public lobby in GTA: O. Leave that sh*t out of RDR2.

Here's another idea. How about online/local, seamless CO-OP? Imagine how fun it would be to just survive in the wild west with your friends doing quests and whatnot.

I don't even understand why people are worried if R* is going to focus on one portion and leaves the other. Let the truth be told, a large multiplayer component was an essential part of 2010's Redemption and I don't remember anyone complaining back then. In fact, after the game was released, R* didn't continue supporting the single player portion with any additional content and all the support went into maintaining and adding more to the multiplayer. We got an epic and engaging story, in addition to a well-balanced and entertaining online portion. What is going to be different this time? Nothing. There will be single player with a dedicated story, in addition to a large multiplayer portion. Now, if you love the multiplayer and are worried that it might turn into a mode that's similar to GTA Online, then you've a point, but other than that, there's nothing to be worried about.

True. Got lots and lots of fun with RDR Multiplayer heck even GTA IV+DLC multiplayer. But GTA Online just doesn't work for me, feels to PayToPlay and very complex. Plus it's a cancerous cummunity. I just can't help it to feel disgusted when I see them mentioning Online Multiplayer so early already. I mean come on let's face it, the odds are very high that this will be another GTA Online equivalent. I hope I'm wrong tough.

Single Player obviously. R* devoted 100% of their attention in V towards Online, why would I want it to happen again? Not only that, but Online still has a bunch of bugs unfixed. The fact that even now three years later with nonstop attention, Online is still filled with issues proves that focus on multiplayer in RDR 2 won't be any different.

I hope that they have a SP focus. But they should have some stuff available in multiplayer as well. I believe that added weapons, clothing, and mounts should be available in both. They should focus on adding new missions to single player. Ether an episodic type thing, or expansions to the original story. But no f*cking zombie sh*t. I wanna see SP expansions that add to the experience and story, not some silly non cannon zombie story.

Single player feel empty and lonely these days. I hope they focus completely on online.

yea so? Don't go off topic, this thread is meant to discuss if we prefer multiplayer or single player focus. What did you not understand?

Edit: Or might it be that you dont understand that multiplayer = online? *omg*

Instead of focusing on single player you are suggesting to focus "completely" on online for solving the problem of single player loneliness. This will not help to the actual cause of loneliness but eventually make it worse for SP.

Its sad how low online players have stooped in trying to support Online that they have started to associate basic and harmless thing like video gaming with single players right to play a game by deciding an eligibility criteria of whether or not they have proper internet connection first and foremost!

Its really low for this forum.

The future of GTA, esp., SP looks very dim to me. :/

I definitely want more focus on SP, and less on MP. Online should be boycotted.

My comments are always being hidden in this thread, what's the deal?

Mine are as well, have about 7 notifications for a post in this thread that does not exist. Though, let's face it, it's just human nature. If you saw a post you didn't agree with and had the ability to magically make it disappear, wouldn't you? I don't blame mods for Stalining posts, I just wish they wouldn't. Post deletion has really stymied discussion on these boards, it's one of the worst new features. Edited by Maibatsu545

Maybe you should check these out: http://gtaforums.com/forum-405/announcement-7-forum-rules/

No Spam Off-topic, nonsensical, one word or otherwise pointless and non-contributory posts, double posting is frowned upon, and only allowed if necessary. Do not bump a topic unless needed.

Also, the posts I hid prior were because they were answers to an already hidden post, thus keeping the thread cleaner. And yes, one picture posts/reactions are spam, it's clear in the rules. I don't think there's much discussion to be had here.

Singleplayer should be the main course while O an addition, i'm ok with online as long it doesnt take the whole attention of the devs or has more features than SP, because i get the feeling GTAO is more fun that V because of it and that sucks.

Even though I like MP in GTA V it feels like they could've done much more for SP so therefore I hope they focus more on SP this time but as long as there are sharkcards in the calculations I have low expectations.. The era RDR takes place in have so much potential for great storylines!!

Oh, my bad. Since the post got deleted I forgot which one it was and mistook it for another post I had recently made. I'm man enough t admit I screwed up. But, really, ya cant blame me with some of the rampant post deletion that happens these days. :p sorry to be a dick, won't happen again.
