I don't even understand why people are worried if R* is going to focus on one portion and leaves the other. Let the truth be told, a large multiplayer component was an essential part of 2010's Redemption and I don't remember anyone complaining back then. In fact, after the game was released, R* didn't continue supporting the single player portion with any additional content and all the support went into maintaining and adding more to the multiplayer. We got an epic and engaging story, in addition to a well-balanced and entertaining online portion. What is going to be different this time? Nothing. There will be single player with a dedicated story, in addition to a large multiplayer portion. Now, if you love the multiplayer and are worried that it might turn into a mode that's similar to GTA Online, then you've a point, but other than that, there's nothing to be worried about.

I don't see how Red Dead Redemption 2 will be like GTA Online. Sure it may have a wide open constant evolving world. But the aspect of "being the rich SOB who has everything" is hard to pull off in the game's setting. This is the early 20th century Old West. There were no fast hypercars or high end apartments back then.

Maybe Rockstar will treat horses like cars and give them speed and acceleration stats. Maybe they will introduce new breeds that will cost whatever amount in 1910's money equates to $2+ million in today's money.

Definitely single player. I'm hoping the multi-player will be similar to what it was before, but obviously with some changes & additions. Not going to happen of course. Rockstar would be fools not to find a way to slap some micros in there with the success of GTA:O. Faster horses, longer lassos, different wagons etc.

Based on what a colossal failure and insane bore that GTA Vs storyline was... ugh.

I'd say ditch the single player all together.

Mutiplayer should have a much much bigger focus on teamwork however. Posses, gangs, crews, whatever you wanna call em, should work together. It shouldn't be a free for all bloodbath like GTA:O

Single player, I love a good story. Besides, RDR has one of the best I've seen in my entire life. John was likable and his goal was understandable, putting the past behind him and taking out his former family. I hope it's story mode isn't pushed aside like GTA V's.

Screw the SP, should be all about the MP! and whether you like it or not folks! you can be dang sure it will all be about the Online at the end of the day, coz Online Pays and they know it!. Now line up for your Pelt giftcards pilgrims!

I honestly could care less about the story even though I loved RDR. I just feel as if the stories are no longer as captivating like they use to be. . . online is cool and all but it's no excuse to push what made a series great aside .

Contradicting I know...but the future screams online which is okay with me but I wouldnt mind more love for the story which looks like that ship already set sail .

SP.

And if MP keeps getting new sh*t, I hope SP doesn't eventually get excluded from the new toys like with GTA V after Ill Gotten Gains(The last DLC SP got Online stuff)

lol at these people hating on GTA Online. I feel like multiplayer gives any game more relayability nowadays because that is what most of today's games are about. Don't get me wrong, I like single player, open world games, but most of them get boring after you finish the main story, unless you're talking about a huge rpg like Skyrim or The Witcher. But Red Dead was never a RPG series so I wouldn't expect it to remain as fresh as those games after you were done with the main storyline. Maybe some people love videogames so much that they enjoy playing by themselves for hours and hours but I don't, I get bored real quick. It's like... when I play without an objective... I feel like... ''what am I doing?'' then I turn off the game and do something more productive. But online, I can talk to people, do fun activities with others and feel like I'm going to achieve something by leveling up and unlocking new stuff. NO, I am not judging people who prefer the single player experience, I'm just sharing my view on that.

I would like both,a good story but also more focus on the multiplayer than the previous one, which didnt even have a create your character option and just picked some set charcters. Also more customisation like wearing your own clothes, boots, hats and your own guns with tints or marks and more stuff to do in free mode.Content creator to make custom deathmatches like in gtao.

Just tell me a good story, Rockstar. I know you've got it in you. Please?

I don't want to just disregard multiplayer, though. Hopefully they'll take all of what they've learned from GTAO's more recent updates and make a more immersive, fun experience with RDR2. I love the idea of running a band of outlaws or taking down notorious crews as bounty hunters and marshals. The potential for a 'living' online experience is massive.

Well theres plenty of games that cater to people like you. Battlefield, call of duty, GTA Online, you don't need to hope that the game is ruined for other people. Online for Red Dead should be an afterthought, you can tell if a game has focused multiplayer that itll turn out pretty bad.

multiplayer

rdr multiplayer was awesome.

gta online is awesome.

awesome + awesome = MORE AWESOME

c'mon people!

I always have more fun playing with my friends than alone, with only my Mountain Dew and Doritos to keep me company.

I'd like the single player to be as deep, rich, and long as the original. A moving story with complex characters and an immersive world I can get lost in for weeks.

I'd like the multiplayer to be more developed than RDR's was (I found that boring, and in some respects not well-planned at all; for instance spawning was horrible and spawn-killing was rampant as a result, and there just wasn't much to do). Ideally I want something that splits the difference between GTA Online and RDR multiplayer. It should be a lot quieter and less chaotic (both gameplay-wise and how much stuff there is calling for your attention at all times). But if there is a deeper customization and leveling up system, if you can own properties and stuff, and if there's much more content (especially co-op - not so much of this endless PvP sh*t), I would be very happy indeed.

Really also hoping, though not particularly expecting, that they find some way to make money on it that isn't shark cards (or their Red Dead equivalent). Shark cards shaped a lot of things for the worse in GTA Online. I put up with it, but I'm not a fan of it. It ultimately seemed to have affected everything in the game one way or another. I'd much rather pay a small subscription fee to play, with regular content packs added in - something like that. And I don't think it suits Red Dead as well to have such a focus on making and wasting money. That's appropriate to GTA, but Red Dead is a different animal.

I definitely want to see some serious online additions...hopefully as progressive as GTA Online. I would have left GTAV on the shelf a long time ago if it wasn't for the online content. I would love to get engrossed in this world for an extended period of time. Something tells me it will be similar in many ways to GTA Online (hopefully)

Single player all day.

RDR1's multiplayer was just about perfect IMO, way better than GTAO. I hope they don't deviate from it, and try to turn it into a GTAO. Simplicity is better.

I'm confident that SP will be a great story with lots of missions and activities so I voted Multiplayer. I have so much fun plating GTAO with my crew I want to continue that in R2D2.

The people have spoken, and the preference is overwhelmingly single player.

Besides, how can you have a Rockstar online game without jets?

They can just put it in as DLC, only for the ingame sum of an equivalent of $150 worth of red dead cash cards.

Its pretty sad imo that people want more online stuff. Those people should stay in battlefield and gta land, dont ruin it for the real gamers

GTA and Battlefield players ARE real gamers. RDR players on other hand, are not, since RDR2 and RDR3 are the best games ever to them. Shows that they haven't played really awesome and great games.

The business have spoken, and the preference is overwhelmingly Online.
