So do you guys want them to focus more on single player or multiplayer this time around? GTA online was boring to me, but i think Red Dead Online could be more interesting and fun. GTA SA had an RPG Skill Stats system that actually impacted the game which i would like to see return in Red Dead Redemption 2 in some form, over 100 single player missions though and is still arguably the best advanced Rockstar game to date due to the game mechanics, more things to do plus interiors and the best replayability of any Rockstar game. GTA V was good, but I was disappointed that large chunks of the world went unused and little replayability it had after the story ended and gta online didn't hold me over. GTA V had like 69 story missions while San Andreas had over 100 and more side missions. I hope throwing all their cards into the multiplayer component won't be for granted due to hacker heaven that is GTA Online and the petty plentiful micro transaction system. I still play GTA San Andreas till this day even though it came out in 2004, i rarely play GTA 5 anymore which is saying something. GTA 5 still has no singleplayer DLC after 3 years of its release, i'm assuming because how much the multiplayer component makes $$$. I hope this won't be the case for Red Dead, it had fantastic DLC like Undead Nightmare. I think they should focus more on single player than multiplayer because that's what we ultimately come back to in a Rockstar game, when it comes to replayability and quality.

If we have both that would be a miracle but for one to shine i think the other has to be set back a little. What would you like to see?

Single player, im hoping for a longer story. I hoped the multiplayer would remain the same as rdr1 it was very simple but perfect and i absolutly rotted on it, all i want is the same multiplayer except with 30 player free roam instead of 16 but from the sounds of it Rockstar are taking off the protection and going balls deep.

I agree; GTA SA is / was / will remain a fantastic game.

Regarding RDR 2 - Of course, more focus on the single player, better for the game and lesser the chances of SP dying because of the cancerous virus called Online!

As a SP fanboy, I'll be doing the single player a huge disservice by even supporting Online. I think any one supporting or even asking for better Online experiences should be considered as an act of crime and seen as a sin against video gaming in general because Online does 100% harm and 0 good for the game. Such players should be punished by the community, but that's just my opinion.

Single player. Though I feel like Rockstar will put some effort into multiplayer, as it seems like we've gotten to the point where when it comes to developing games, online multiplayer is like air. These days, the quality of your multiplayer component can make or break a game, particularly with wide open sandboxes.

Hoping the development focus will be predominately on single-player, but I can't help but speculate that something akin to GTA Online ('Red Dead Online?') will emerge and suck out some of the single-player focus given how popular and thus how much of a cash-cow it is.

Hope I'm wrong though.

Single player, I played GTA online once for about 2 hours then never played it again.

San Andreas did have over 100 missions but the story was mostly atrocious & V had lot more side missions if you count strangers & freaks.

Single player of course. While I have no problem with the presence of an Online mode, even to the same scale as V's, I will play more and get more out of SP mode, as has always been the case.

However, I think it would be financial suicide for them to not implement something like V's Online mode and, hey, who knows... it might even be really good.

More focus towards the single player mode.

We all know that R* would just release Red Dead Online content just to make money, and even if they spent a lot of resources and development to it, a western themed Online mode wouldn't interest me much. I'd just want them to continue the tradition of releasing great SP games, which R* did so until they released V.

I just don't see how they are going to motivate people to spend the kind of money GTAONLINE has generated. GTA V lends itself to outlandish purchases. All manner of vehicles and the customization that comes with them, Properties and garages for said vehicles, military vehicles and hardware etc... What does a game set in the old west have? Horses and outfits? Some weapons and old hideouts? There is no multi-million dollar golden stage coach or Bulletproof chrome horses that would motivate people to fork out money for cash cards in RDR. I'm sure R* is hoping to get the kind of revenue stream GTAONLINE has given them but i am not seeing how that is possible in game set in the old west.

Obviously single player.

But multiplayer has a massive oppertunity here. I want 2 different types off free roam sessions. Normal and hardcore. Hardcore is your typical free aim, no blips on the map, make it feel authentic an then little children can't hunt you down and pester you.

I hope you're wrong too.

But i think GTA O changed R*.. and not for the better. Its very sad that GTA V never got a single player DLC

I think RDR2 will focus heavily on online.

Considering that the first announcement tells us that Singleplayer is the foundation - and online gameplay the rest - that is not very likely.
