Since when is money shared between characters?

I've only played gta online once in awhile for a week or two at a time during the three years it's been available. I've just started to get into it more seriously this past month. With all the updates I had missed, and having not played, I sprung for a couple of shark cards to give me a head start (I don't have much time to grind for money and I won't complain here about how long it takes to make any substantial amount of money in gta online). I have two characters. Usually I make a purchase with my second character to see if I'll like the features, say with a high end apartment (I vividly remember buying high end apartments with both characters and them having separate amounts of money, this is as recently as heists). I guess my question is, when did this change, was it announced, and am I the only one who has a problem with it? I'm annoyed enough to stop playing the game. I'm really hoping this is some kind of glitch.

Also, when I switch between characters ( I have 1 male 1 female), my male character, who is something like level 85 stats are much lower. I had 100 flying skill and it's at zero now.

I've deleted the game and I'm reinstalling it.

It would seem like a stupid game design choice to penalize people for having more than one character by making them share money.

Money has always been shared between your characters. You stats like flying aren't shared.

Just with shark cards or heists and jobs as well?

Everything. The only money that isn't shared is what you have in cash.

I wasn't expecting the stats to be shared between characters. I meant that I switched to my second character which is level 29, then back to my level 80 and maxed out in everything but strength to find most stats reset.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but thanks. I must have been mistaken.

Your stats degrade after a while of not playing. Or so I was told

The character switch screen is bugged and often shows the stats of the character you haven't selected as reseted.

The person who told me only has the one character so I don't think it was that

I just checked with the higher level character and it looks like the stats are back to normal. Thanks.

How is having a shared bank account penalizing players with two characters? It's nothing but an advantage. You can play whichever character you like and not worry about having enough money on the other one to buy stuff. Things don't become more expensive or anything. You don't lose extra money in any way.

Please share with us what the downside is to having the shared bank account. I'm very curious.
