What are you looking forward to

Maybe there's been a few of these topics , but what the hell, I'll ask again.

Things I'm looking forward to (or should I say wishing for in some cases)

1.  Better graphics

2.  I hope the load time for interiors is reduced or eliminated

3.  Having all interiors open throughout the game (i.e. Love Fist Concert and studio, Bank)  If not, maybe it can be modded that way.

4.  I also hope there is no load time when crossing between the two mainlands (that bright blue and orange screen hurts my eyes)  This didn't happen with GTA 3 so I doubt it.

5.  Having much better 3D control over Tommy with the mouse.  (PS2 controllers suck for 1st and 3rd person games)

6.  MP3 player

7.  Skins (edit that damn flashy shirt of Tommy's)

8.  Editing a PCJ to go 3x it's speed

9.  Making those green cop cars look something more like this

gta3blcop.jpg

10.  All the mods in general.  Maybe Rockstar will make things a little easier for the modding community this time around :D

So what are you looking forward to?  (Don't answer that if you're just a PS2 fanboy looking to say how you're through with the game  :p )

My hopes:

a) More oppurtunities for modding.

b) Better graphics.

c) Reduced load time.

d) Better quality sound, possibly more tracks made specficially for the PC version (radio).

Thats pretty much it.

How about Rockstar actually convert the game properly, as you know the problems some people had ie the game running slow on a P4 , 512MB RAM, GeForce 4 etc

Exactly.  Rockstar better do a decent job of porting he game to pc this time.  GTA 3 lags like hell if I set the screen resolution to anything greater than 800 x 600 x 16 (and I do have a P4 1.8 Ghz, 512 MB DDR, although I do have a sh*tty Radeon 7000 64MB).  I've heard that the replay feature is one of the reasons the game lags so badly.  I hope they fix this or at least give the option of turning the replay feature on or off.

I tell you, you got a lot of Armor, there...

It doesn't do much good when you fall in water, though.  :D

i am so looking forward to getting vice on pc.(i already have it on ps2) I have a very decent computer. and the main and sole reason i am going to buy it is MODDING. I wasn't even considering going to buy the pc version of GTA3 until i saw a working stealth fighter mod to replace the dodo, complete with physics. SWEET.

Modding for VC will be hopefully even better. imagine modding the hunter, not that it needs any modding. it's cool anyway

and putting hunter missiles on the pcj and FAGGIO. LMFAO

Only one thing:

1. A replay system where you can edit and save the replays like in the original Driver.

No Replay that's part of the reason why it runs so sh*t on some really good PC's.

First things that come to mind :

1) A decent in-car view, with dash or at least, bonnet cam like in Mafia. Even if there only was bonnet cam that would be great.

2) Support for Force Feedback Wheels.

3) Support for 8 way POV Hats in in-car view, as in Midtown Madness 2, for front-side views before making a turn.

4) The possibility to listen to the radio/Mp3s in boats. That was not possible in GTA3.

5) The Possibility to choose the order in which you wanna hear your mp3s.

Yeah, I guess GTA 3 didn't support hardware transformation and lighting.  I guess the reason they don't use hardware TnL is because too many people are still using crap video cards (like my Radeon 7000 that I'll soon do away with) that don't have TnL support, which means those people couldn't run the game.  It would probably increase perfomance quite a bit seeing that it'd be a load off the CPU though.

One thing I was wondering about was - they can't have an mp3 player  - since cd's were hardly even out in the 80s

So will they just have a mp3 radio station? or will they invent something new for our mp3s - like just another name for the radio station, or a walkman or something?

They'll probably just go for the mp3 player.

Also -

and i haven't really played Vice City on the PC that much

What? Vice ain't out on PC yet. You mean GTA3?
