I am everywhere from this greatness of a forum, to Seeking Alpha as a stock guy, to Reddit getting up and down votes (see what I did there lol) to Ign, Neogaf (recently joined few weeks ago) etc. Anyhow, Thanks brother 😀😎

Rewatching the trailer, trying to identify some of the guns and nothing really sticking out to me except for the fact that you can totally see a guy with a one handed sawed off shotgun in the woods about to attack the train. He's standing next to Bill, who is holding the bolt action rifle from the first game. Obviously, the double-action, schofield, and cattleman revolver are returning as well. As we can see in the screenshot of Arthur with 2 guns standing in the smoke, you can have 2 different kinds of guns in either hand. I think it would be very exciting to have a shotgun in one hand and a pistol in the other, or indeed two shotguns. One of those things you can only do in games i guess

That dude is the native. You can see his ponytail at the end of the first trailer...

It just has so much potential to be f*ckin awesome. I would have never thought GTAO would be what it is today back in 2013. The story will probably be ok, but for me online is probably where I will have most of my fun. If Red Dead Online is service based of course, I'm excited to hear what they finally have to say about it.

Screw online, it is all about the single player and the story.

It may be hard for alot to believe. But, I purely played GTA V and Red Dead Redemption for its single player campaign and the campaign alone. Never even touched the multiplayer side and to be honest with you guys, I didn't miss a damn thing!

Me too. Exactly the same thing.

Nah i gotta keep it real, with RDR i played that purely for the story but when i heard GTAV would have online it was a selling point for me. People can hate online all you want, but the fact is GTAO is dope to many people. Why u think they made sure to speak of Online from the start. The story will be cool and all, but just the thought of making my own western character, riding with friends and sh*t. That alone is enough for me.

I agree with you. Many people enjoy GTA online and there is nothing wrong with it. But, Can you guarantee people will remember that more than John Marston and his epic journey through the west? Idk I'm speaking for me personally. For me John marston wasn't the highlight of the game for me it was the gameplay that I gravitated to. The Activities/games, the gunplay, the missions, the mechanics and the environment is what made RDR a great game to me. Idk what online will include, but the just thought of possibly being able to explore a western open world as a character i created trumps anything for me. With Arthur seemingly being a anti hero, i may gravitate to his character more alot more than John.

I'm just looking forward to the Schofield revolver. Just because i love the design of this gun. It's a beauty to me. Nickel(/silver) plated Schofield, maybe with pearl grips. No gravings. That's all i need. All that plus first person.

There is a wide variety of gunsmiths out there. I would love to see R* explore different gun manufacturers/Gunsmiths from around the world. There really is a lot R* Could do in terms of weaponry, im excited to see what they do.

Sometimes I can't help but think about how the game was originally set to come out 3 months ago.

Right? I wonder if there's an alternate universe where it did come out on time and in that universe's GTAForums instead of complaining about the lack of news about the game on a loop everyone is complaining about the lack of information about the next Red Dead Online update on a loop. But also complaining about Microtransactions and how much of a grind it is to get stuff on a loop. lolz, i can see this happening. Wouldn't mind living in that universe tbh. For all we know they probably already have a Bully 2 and and Manhunt 3. Gta VI??

Where's the Portal at tho?? Have to see for myself :beerhat:

Do you all think we will be able to double wield sawn off shotguns like in sa? I'm kind of on the fence about it. It think they will keep double wielding exclusive to revolvers, pistols and hopefully melee weapons.

I wonder what the weapon (equip) system will look like. Can we decide in which hand we hold a particular weapon (as in Skyrim for example: (XBox Controller) In the menu you push the left trigger to equip the weapon to the left hand and the right trigger to equip another one handed weapon to the right hand)? I think we will indeed be able to decide which (one handed) weapon we hold in which hand...

Likely the same as Max Payne 3 since the weapon wheel could let you assign with weapon to which hand, and different load outs are already seemingly confirmed with the screenshots from last May.

Another week down, and we just inch closer to February 7th. On the upside, Hostiles was finally released so I'll be checking that out tomorrow.

Im a pretty pessimistic guy, I usually expect the worst but hope for the best. Although recently Ive had a feeling that maybe in a few weeks well get something, like in early February

Ive edited this post 3 times and this mother f*cking site wont show the apostrophe for abbreviations

It's a copy-paste glitch. I've seen it on other posts where I've copied text. If you type it directly, the apostrophe doesn't go away.

^^^ Yeah but i wonder when you get a little creative with your weapons (for example a 6 rounder in 1 hand and an 8 rounder in the other) how the reload mechanics will work.

Will you keep firing with with just the one gun that has more bullets until that's empty or will you right away reload the gun that was empy first.

Because in SA both weapons were synchronized to each other. Each weapon in each hand reloaded at the same time because they were the exact same weapon.

What i'm most curious about however is how the reload animation in rdr2 will look while dual wielding. Because in real life, even the best shot needs his time to reload a gun while he is holding also one in the other. It's not efficient at all.

I have a feeling that March's GI cover is RDR 2. Maybe that's the reason they've been quiet. If this game gets pushed back again I'm gonna be depressed as hell. I can't take this much longer.

Again likely like Max Payne 3 where when one goes empty, you'll keep firing from the other pistol until it's empty unless you choose to manually reload to have both weapons fully loaded.

They really implemented the dual wielding well in Max Payne that allowed for some great load outs like a Sawn Off in one hand and a .45 in the other.

It could be, I did find it out GI ended their coverage already for God of War considering January isn't over yet and they could of done 4 more days worth (today, next Monday, Tuesday and Friday) before revealing the new issue the week of February 6th.

Unless the new issue is being revealed next week...

Before Feb 7th: trailer #3 + release date

March: GI cover + cover art reveal + brief explenation of story + 5 new screenshots

Late april: (final) trailer #4 with small reference to John and the rest of the gang + in depth online info

Early May: Brief preview of soundtracks + 3 new artworks

Late to end May: release

Would be cool :D

^good question, yea i think gunplay is going to be something groundbreaking. I think it would be cool if we could holster 2 guns on our waist and 2 more hostered on our side like this dude here. In case your 2 revolvers run out you can drop them and pull out the others concealed. Damn i cant wait to see a gunfight

@dgsimo Sorry haven't played Max Payne yet. But it seems the most logical

@j.dillingerblackheart Now that looks neat, an option to hide a small weapon in your boot would als be cool.

Check out this video then and you'll see why the gunplay and weapon handling in Max Payne 3 was so good.

Saw the vid and yeah you can see they put quite the effort in the gunplay and the users reaction to it. However, I hope that the shooting in rdr2 will be a little less over the top.

God i almost forgot how Max payne 3 was so f*cking awesome. Few of us here are done with Last gen. But damn Last gen had so many grate games. Way to many to name here. Really i hope something similar to this. But i'm pretty sure RDR2 will have it's uniuqe shooting mechanics. RDR1 was no execption. Damn gun play was so smooth. The f*ck happend to V's shooting i still ask my self to this day :/ Edited by Big_Smiley

Over the top? The shoot dodge? I mean that's a staple of Max Payne 3 but on the other hand, of Arthur could do that then we could recreate the Django Unchained shoot out!

Shame that Rockstar downgraded the control, hit detection and reaction and shooting from Max Payne 3 to GTAV but hopefully it comes back.

Why that date? Just a guess? The Take Two investor call is scheduled for that day at 4:30pm. The New York stock exchange closes at 4pm. If they announce the delay after the stock closes, investors cant sell their stock before being calmed by Strauss. They did the same thing before the last delay.
