Red Dead Redemption 2: Discussion & Speculation (Part 1)

Im going to beat a dead horse just for a second but entertain me.. So, Im replaying RDR currently and just started Women and Cattle where John explains a bit of his life to Bonnie. John says to Bonnie:

 

My father died when I was 8 years old. His eyes were...well, let's just say he was blinded in a barfight south of Chicago. My mother died during childbirth. She was a prostitute and he was her, well I don't know what he was. Then I was sent off to an orphanage and ran away and fell in with a gang

 

Going in the order and how explained this is explained, to me sounds like his father died when he was 8. Then his mother died giving birth to another kid and then John was sent to the orphanage after.

 

With that it does seem entirely possible that the kid Arthurs theatening in the second trailer is young John Marston, maybe 15yrs old? And that Arthur is who killed his father.

I think that what John meant by "my mother died during childbirth" is that his mother died giving birth to him, or at least that's my interpretation

Right and thats kind of what Im getting at, were mearly assuming thats the case. Unless there is some R* info that shows otherwise?

There's one thing I don't understand. John mentions his father was blinded in a bar fight, but he never tells how his father actually died. What has his father getting blinded got to do with his story? (besides the dramatic stuff) Is he implying the actual blinding killed him?

Possible, but I doubt it. Because in rdr1, Dutch is 53 and and John 38. If John would be 15 in rdr2, Dutch would be just thirty and he seems at least 40 in the trailer. And correct me if i'm wrong but I think Jonh only joined Dutch's gang around age 17-19.

 

Also if John's dad was such an a**hole to him and his mother, I don't think she would be mourning him an be as devastated as the lady from trailer #2.

Anything is certainly possible, but like I said last time someone mentioned this:

 

If johns mother died in child birth (I'm also assuming here that the birth was johns because that's the way it feels when he says it) it's not possible.

In that scene Arthur says "maybe when your mothers finished mourning your father." When in actuality Johns mom died long Before his father therefore his mother couldn't be mourning anyone. That is unless she survived johns childbirth but died some years later giving birth to a sibling. But John never mentions a brother or sister sooo Idk

Women love sh*tty men all the time. I don’t know if he’s 15, that was just a guess since he didn’t look much like an 8yr old.

 

I’m definitely not making any hard conclusions but with the way it was said about Johns father dying, his mother dying and “THEN I was sent” off, the door for possibility was opened (at least for me) that the kid who ironically looks like a young Marston is actually him and R* slid that in under everyone’s nose because of a sentence that everyone has been interpreting wrong since RDR1

Is anyone hoping RDR2 has any glitches at all on story mode? Now this is gonna sound weird but hear me out I dont mean all the time or game breaking ones, just sh*t that happens every once in a while maybe. To me RDR had the funniest glitches I have ever seen. A couple of my favorites were when the horses would just start flying and their carriages would act like they were being possessed.. and then my most recent memory is punching people in blackwater saloon, next thing I know John somehow catapults to the heavens above.. you hear him going "AHHHHHHH" then he lands in the f*cking water "DEAD" LMAOOO I cant with that one if you see this and wanna talk about this I made my own thread of it, plz do join me

Again its not official so dont quote me on it but i dont see why these people would have a reason to lie. Not all official pages are marked as Verified on Facebook. It's probably legitimate, many countries have regional pages that do different announcements and stuff, because it all depends on the local social media teams. It's not the first Playstation regional page to make something related to RDR2, so it's likely official, but as before also doesn't mean much.

If it's still true,then I can only think of one scenario.

 

They reveal a new trailer(around end of january-start of february),and announce it around april to make up for their awful long times of draughts.

And i try to face the facts and never go off hopeful thinking. I fully believe this game is about to be revealed idk how to explain but i just feel it.
