Red Dead Redemption 2: Discussion & Speculation (Part 1)

I'm assuming Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1905-1906. The last few months of the original Van der Linde gang.

 

The more I think about it, the more that makes sense as the timeframe of the game. I'm certain I saw a telephone in the bank robbery scene from the second trailer. Any earlier than 1905, and it wouldn't make much sense for a telephone to be present.

GTAO is simply tiring and repetitive, the only interesting thing is the heists. I personally prefer to spend time in story mode, I'm glad to see the comments requesting RDR2 in the R * posts.

So basically what you're saying is you found someone who has credibility that they work for R*(social media for example), and that person very recently answered one of your questions?

This person works at Rockstar currently (I checked LinkedIn and the personal site before contacting the person) I was already giving up getting an answer, I just complimented the work done on previous titles and said that I was excited to see his work in RDR2. (The artist currently holds an important full-time position at R *)

How do you know that RDR2 will have photogrammetry? I can see it in some games, but not in RDR2 really.

If RDR2 is using photogrammetry it's not on a particularly wide scale, this is a good example of what the tech is capable of:

Rockstar not only tweeted the double action revolver from december 15th a couple hours after their gta online tweet, but they just a few hours ago also made it a newswire post. They really want people to know you get this gun in red dead redemption 2... that makes me happy, the slightest acknowledgement just goes to show, theyre busting their asses to get that game out the door for spring or further if they need to just to make sure the quality is up to their standards and ours. MUCH respect R* forever a fan here

Well, one would think the R&D was for them to actually use it. It's not unbelievable they're using it, obviously just not in the whole map.

 

Also, something that was missed, FACS scanning. That is basically the same technology that was used in LA Noire for facial expressions with all the cameras and etc.

Okay guys Im gonna be honest. Im really not that big of a fan of Arthur Morgan. His voice when he yells wheres my monehh!? Was sooooo cringey to me. It doesnt sound tough at all. Also I know its a prequel and all but Arthur doesnt have the scars and facial hair like red harlow and John marston do. Obviously well be able to add facial hair and maybe even scars but my statement stands. Im really hoping I end up really liking him but as of right now I dont. Also his outfit is bland and boring. No cool ammo straps across the chest no cool anything really. He ALMOST looks like an NPC. Maybe Im just being a picky little bitch. Either way this game will be phenomenal.

 

LET ME KNOW HOW YOU GUYS FEEL , Im very interested in other peoples opinions and love talking about this game with people. Ive been playing Rockstars games ever since I was 4. So i hold this company and everything they produce close to heart and Ill always be a fan. Im rambling Im sorry lol

Nice spot. I've noticed that the Double-Action Revolver is the first story when you hover over "Newswire" on their website (it's in-front of two new cars released during the drip-feed). They also mentioned it again on the Wednesday post for Snapmatic winners.

 

If you've yet to claim your gratis Double-Action Revolver, check your iFruit for a in-game email containing the first clue, then follow the trail to unlock the weapon in GTA Online. Once you uncover the weapon, complete the Headshot Challenge in Freemode for a GTA$250,000 reward and unlock it for future gun-slinging exploits in Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Entirely possible but it could be R&D for possible use in RDR2 and for future projects but it ended up never making it in RDR2. Hopefully we'll get the answer when/if they go into the new tech in detail in press interviews, when, you know, they start talking again.

Didn't they post the RDR fan art not too long before the delay reveal or something like that? Either way something is on the horizon soon men, i feel it.

Never thought i almost hate gta 5 if you ask me when it revealed. It was stunning,beautiful when announced. Sun,beach,mountains it was incredible after gta 4. That feel in gta 5's first trailer..

 

But now i really dont want to see anymore. I dont want to see same gta online character faces with 5 years old tech in R* social medias. I will remember gta 5 in the future with flying machines everywhere with rocket launchers and non stop insanity. I hope RDR2 dont end like this.

But yes, they have posted it 3 times worded in different ways within this past week alone... plus they picked someones entry from their name "red is dead" and i think its interesting that there was a white and red rockstar logo on gta online this morning that was taken down. Prob was a leak of some sort on accident. Also im js, their car they released recently, out of all colors they coulda showcased it with, they chose red dead colors..

Just re-watched the infinity war trailer. Somehow I think Thanos is speaking to us about being optimistic about a spring release date.. "In time, you will know what it's like to lose. I never associate GTA V with GTA ONLINE

GTA V was a masterpice and online is just a cash land.

They did a good thing not added these updates in story mode.
