So basically what you're saying is you found someone who has credibility that they work for R*(social media for example), and that person very recently answered one of your questions?This person works at Rockstar currently (I checked LinkedIn and the personal site before contacting the person) I was already giving up getting an answer, I just complimented the work done on previous titles and said that I was excited to see his work in RDR2. this art never fails to hype me tf up. Especially because everything this picture says without saying it... i swear the dude looking away is john. Obviously the middle is arthur he is our character so that makes sense, but everyone looking forward while john looks away... we know he will be leaving the gang in this game if its him, the ferry heist.. So SO hyped!! Do you guys think this is the box art? Im kinda inbetween.. i think they could make something new but this is already so simple and looks finalized. What do you mean he will be going away in this game? And i'd say 50/50 fot the box art.If it is him (away from the gang) this likely will show when and how he was shot.. then he leaves. Was a typo my bad, ill edit that

Oh you meant when things went sour with the Blackwater shooting. I doubt John will be at that age yet, but who knows, right?

 

I never actually got how John wasn't caught after the Blackwater massacre. I thought they left him for dead. How did he not get arrested then?

It looks like the game is set earlier than 1906 based on nothing other than Dutch's appearance. He looks at least ten years younger to me.

Exactly, my guess is 1894. That would be seventeen years before the first rdr then. That would mean John is around 21 years. He'd be young and naive, while already being tough as nails.

Idk bro the aging is funny in RDR, Jack went from looking like he was 12 years old to 28 in 3 years. It's definitely going to be a creative approach from R* with the story.

It could work you know. Dutch was 53 in the first rdr so that means he would be 36 in rdr2 that seems about right judging by the trailer, it also gives a better idea of Arthur's age as the two seem even in age.

We don't know all of that yet, we will have to wait and see. I was just making the point assuming someone age by looks and is difficult to tell going off how RDR did things. God knows how old they are, all we can do is guess. Dutch still looks a bit older than arthur imo tho.

I have a feeling that some of the people buried in the Blackwater graveyard might have connections to the second game. West Elizabeth is included on the map, and the Van der Lindre Gang had strong connections to that area. There are many markers with death dates from 1890-1910, and one that caught my eye was "Unnamed Cowboy".

Showing the young picture of Trevor was done on purpose. I'm saying for ten years, he really hasn't aged that much even considering his additional scars, tattoos and meth scabs. He's gone more bald but that's about it. Compare that to Dutch, and I would say 10 years seems about accurate... but definitely more than five.

I'm assuming Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1905-1906. The last few months of the original Van der Linde gang.
