There is no official confirmation of when the conference call is, it could be anywhere in February for all we know.

How time flies. It was nearly a year ago when those Target pre-order cards surfaced on reddit and the rumor about a Super Bowl spot sprang from it.

 

Here we are again...could Rockstar announce the release date before the end of January still on track for Spring, throw a cool $6-8 million for a big game spot to announce and show off to the masses on February 4th and then the Take Two investors call on February 6th?

Yeah, I brought that up yesterday, mostly as a dream scenario but it does seem like it would be a pretty good move for them. The first trailer aired so long ago that if things are on schedule it might be time to remind the mainstreamers that the game still exists. Then maybe doing something again around mid to late April when Walking Dead has it's finale?

If nothing comes out this week too then there are 2 possibilities:

1. Delay announcement.

2. A change in the way Rockstar is going to design single player and market their games!

 

Or maybe we can stretch it to the week after and wait patiently for the next 2 weeks before something goes wrong again!

I just want to know some solid new gameplay features already.

 

So far we know:

 

1. We can dual-wield revolvers

2. The bow is now a available as a weapon

3. The bayou scene implies that stealth will be a bigger part of the game, (though for all we know it'll be limited to a few linear story missions)

Exactly. This "is" R* Their known for doing stupid sh*t for no apparent reason. Were all hoping here it doesn't come to that soon instead of news and information all of us here are hoping for.

In Free Roam (I don't think it could work) but bounties are a thing and what if let's say certain players get a bounty on their head in the Free Roam session and their online character's face in plastered on a wall for all to see in that said town where a crime he/she committed there. The character's face will be shown along with the amount that was placed on them. It most likely won't happen but that would be cool.

I think that they want to put off announcing for as long as possible so that they dont end up having to push it back any longer, or they know if will have to be pushed into July or some sh*t. I think this is also probably the reason that there hasnt been any promotion of the game; it would force them to either re-affirm SPRING 2018 or announced that it had been pushed and theyre trying to avoid that.

if they really delay it again it wont be released in July. Strauss Zelnick said that they wont release any games in the hot summer time.

 

The next release window would be end of August 2018. Again if the delay it marketing wise they have to release it before all the other blockbusters show up CoD....

Not saying it's impossible but why June exactly? Out of all 3 Spring months June seems the most unlikely one imo. June is still 5 months away so I guess it makes sense when it comes to the marketing time but with the E3 buzz and 1000 other game announcements around? Idk... not very likely imo. But I'd take June in a heart beat that's for sure!

I've got such a big backlog of titles on my ps4 that I told myself I wasn't going to touch RDR for a replay before RDR2 until I cleared some of the backlog. lol Well I finished up Yakuza 0 so as I treat I went back to play some RDR.

 

I'm still amazed at the visuals and just the sheer amount of detail. I think I spent a good 5 minutes at MacFarlane's Ranch watching the blacksmith make and hammer a horse shoe. I then just walked around observing everything, like the night watchmen keeping an eye on the border of the ranch for rustlers and coyotes. To finding the little target practice with straw bales, weather veins and tin cans on strings. lol

 

Obviously being 8 years since I played through and finished the campaign a lot of the details and backstory I couldn't remember. So it was interesting when I just came across one of the early newspapers. In the issue it talks about Bill Williamson and his dark reign with his new gang while also alluding to the old Van Der Linde Gang. What I thought was a interesting tidbit is that according to the public's perception and knowledge, Dutch apparently died in a fire during a bungled robbery in 1906. This immediatley brought this scene to mind though..

 

..only problem with the two even being connected is if we see a passage of time in the game. Still something worth thinking about lol

That date was pulled a few days later. I know that this retailer knew something when GTA V came out (maybe they really knew something or maybe they were just lucky idk) but that leaked June date is not very convincing. And yes, Rockstar doesn't care about E3 - When it comes to attending or revealing big things at E3. But 90% of the gaming industry showing their newest games at the same time your game comes out is something completely different! That's how I see it anyway. Never said it's impossible but the cons for a June release just outweigh the pros for me.

 

Edit: I think it's also hard to compare a possible RDR2 release around E3 with the release of The Last Of Us in June a few years ago. The Last Of Us was heavily promoted at E3 and since it's a Naughty Dog game it got a lot of attention at Sony's press conference too of course. That's a big difference here. But hey... since Sony has a marketing/content deal with R* who knows. Maybe they'll finally promote one of their games significantly at E3. But then we're at the "Rockstar doesn't need/do E3" thinking again.

 

Only time (and Rockstar) will tell...
