Wow I gotta say I'm really surprised they released the treasure hunt already. I mean it's a great thing and means that we're likely on track for spring woohoo! So hyped even though I don't play GTAO. I low key expected them to release the hunt sometime in January with the quote "due to unexpected issues RDR2 will now be releasing fall 2018 but until then, enjoy this RDR themed treasure hunt in GTAO."

 

This is just the tip of the spear ladies and gentlemen, pretty soon we'll have more info than we could shake a stick at.

I believe that the next news will be some pictures with the release date or a new trailer, why not? As somebody said above, I do not think it will be delay again.Red Dead Redemption 2 madness, is about to begin !

God, I hope not. I hope Rockstar sticks to musical "jingles". GTA V is where we got that annoying "mission complete" sound when it sounded like something was dropping on metal. It was weird from what was heard from previous GTA games offered upon completing missions. If this is a Red Dead Redemption II sound hopefully it's when you open something and not passing a mission.

 

I mean this sort of thing really doesn't affect anything gameplay wise so I mean if it is the sound I'm sure we'll get used to it.

Just finished Godless. Final verdict, it's amazing. I don't treat it like a show but a film. That being said, it's a top 10 Western. This was something gold, there was nothing that really indicated it being small budget. Felt like a feature film, just 7 hours long. Most importantly, it's got that RDR vibe and Rockstar storytelling flavor.

Without spoiling the plot for anyone...: Do you have that Dutch/Marston-feeling between the main protagonist and the main villain too? I really enjoyed Godless.

Yes, you do sense that if you think about it. There is an episode that gives off that vibe, like I said this has Rockstar storytelling all over it. Especially as you just mentioned the connection between the 1st game and this show. Im willing to bet that whoever wrote this story played Red Dead Redemption, had to.

 

Good thing that you mentioned it, thinking about it more after finishing the film, this story was very much like Red Dead Redemption. Roy redeemed himself from the outlaw life, the Sheriff grew some balls and redeemed himself. Alot of redemption if you look back.. hmm

There were mission complete sounds in IV, TLAD, and TBOGT and RDR though

Honestly with all this drought it's actually satisfying to see the words "Red Dead Redemption 2" in GTA V... the fact that Rockstar actually acknowledged the game is something at this point.

Also I completed the headshot challenge like any sensible GTA:O player, got in my armored Kuruma and headshotted some police officers. Racked up quite quickly after you get past 3 stars.

The thing is: We never really knew why John retired from the "outlaw life" just as we don't know, why Roy redeemed himself from this "lifestyle" (well, we're not sure he really has...)... Was it because he (John) had kids? Because he started to realise that Dutchs ideology went more and more insane? We don't know it, but i hope we'll discover it in RDR 2! I'm almost certain, we`ll learn more about Dutchs psyche...

Perhaps I'm pointing out the obvious, but if you look back at the order of the trailers for the first game, we got a teaser, then a trailer, and then the gameplay introduction video. Going by this logic, we should get a gameplay video next.

The treasure hunt was fun. Hearing what sounded like coyotes in the online world brought me back to RDR. If anything getting the gun gave me a quick general idea of what shooting a single action would be like in First Person, should the mode carry over.

 

If course our only piece of RDR2 artwork since the original key art has to be related to GTA online. lol One hopes next Thursday before the Christmas break will see an update, and if not then perhaps New Years Eve? I still remember the Max Payne 3 post and the dozens of idiots posting if it was GTAV and why wasn't it GTAV...oy vey

Everything is not going to be a video or trailer. We are going to have to read about it, analyze photos etc. There is alot more that goes I to marketing the game than trailers..
