Notice how in the artwork the GTA Online logo slowly turns into RDR2 style

 

Although this won't bring me back to play GTA Online at all I think it's quite a unique style and very different than how R* advertised their upcoming games in the past.

 

If only they would start with the real marketing campaign for RDR2 now ...

I don't play GTA:O but this is a (very?) good sign anyway! Now i pretty sure the development of the game is on track and we can look forward to a spring release. I really can't see Rockstar start feeding us with RDR content (even in a different game) without a release date in "near" future.

It was a fun hunt and the weapon is pretty cool. Brought some hype back for RDR2

It wasnt that the Treasure Hunt was activated in a certain way in GTAO. Its available and open to all players and shows up pretty visibly as mail and notification.

And then they write Red Dead Redemption 2 gun and all too.

All this would just mean 1 thing. They have begun spreading awareness about RDR2 and the marketing campaign could launch any time within the next 10days.

It would just simply be stupid to make people do a RDR2 Treasure Hunt and then go silent again for a while.

Its started. Its gonna happen soon!

Oh man... this almost sounds like the game's already out. I might be a bit too optimistic here but this sentence gives me hope that the development of RDR2 is almost done and the Spring release will happen. January has to be our month. Highly doubt that R* will keep silent for another month or two after this little tie-in mission. I probably won't go back to GTAO for the Revolver but i gotta say... It's a clever way from Rockstar to get some players back online and slowly introduce hardcore GTAO players to Red Dead Redemption 2. Clever marketing! Would not surprise me If we'll see more tie-in stuff in the upcoming months.
