Red Dead Redemption 2: Discussion & Speculation (Part 1)

I don't get why people would hate GTA IV’s euphoria, they are probably my favourite physics in a game, even more than RDR. I was so disappointed when I learned you could kill a person in GTA V just by shooting at his foot once...

Also I saw a video showing how the AI in GTA V was downgraded due technical limitations, very interesting video:

I really really hope they dont change the physics, I think they dumbed them down in GTA V because hardware limitations. Sadly they didn't fixed them in the next-gen / PC release...

That's just R* being lazy monkeys. I said this before, how the hell can IV from 2008 have better physics quality than a game from 2013?? They just did V like that because as you said they didn't even bother changing them during next-gen. I swear they better have grate ones in RDR2. A game like that needs better work. It's only reason why i still have little resepect for R*. This gtaO trash needs to stop from them.

At the time GTA IV was constantly being hated on for its physics. The driving was criticized by pretty much every GTA player and many people didn't like how the character handled. It's only after GTA V that people have decided to look back on GTA IV more favorably. Rockstar isn't lazy, they just took your criticisms of the game to heart. Yeah i know what some of you say. I remembered that when i used to be a Neogaf user long ago around 2006-12. I would see topics like that pop up. I loved everything about IV at the time i just never mentioned anything on those forums. Edited by GTA_The_Series

Ive never spoke much about..i don't know how but..WOW the 2 tracks used for both trailers are just absolutely f*ckin AMAZING! One thing that i love doing in RDR is listening & enjoying the scores and very slowly riding into a town with my gun out like a f*ckin badass. Argh man i cant wait to experience that in RDR2 with a certified badass like arthur. His story is going to be insane i can feel it, but the music again is going to be very captivating on its own. i love how based on certain situations in RDR the music would change and just fit the moment, you can bet your ass RDR2 is going to be phenomenal.

Hard to say whether or not this will be out in the update tonight or will be a part of a dripfeed weeks from now... perhaps coupled with some other Red Dead info even!

Is that a made-up joke? 'GTA$'!

GTA$ is the currency in GTA V and GTA: Online. So it's not a joke. At least from that point of view

Here's the unlockable RDR2 gun:

Dt49tJh.png

It's extremely detailed and belongs to "DDP Arms Co.", a company that doesn't exist in V's world. Wouldn't be surprised if this is a Red Dead model.

There are some difference, but yeah they are similar looking. There is only so much you can do with certain guns, I think?

It sounds like they're going to connect the two games together through unlockable achievements. Get 50 headshots with the revolver in GTA, win money and also unlock an exclusive in RDR2. Seems like a smart way to get diehard GTA players over to RDR2 and lure back the people back who haven't played GTAV in forever (people like myself)

Either way, it looks promising

Might just be to promote their new online experience by their current Gta online players (and like you said: get some red dead fans back into gtav). I don't think that's something that will be a thing after launch.

It's something at least. I'm excited to see if Rockstar's Newswire post announcing the updates release has any mention of it whatsoever. I've thought cross-promotion would be a good idea for a while now.

Hey, at least we know the Double-Action Revolver is back!

This also means this DLC is relevant enough to last until RDR2 releases or close to that. The inclusion of this challenge/bonus thing may be a good indicator the game is NOT delayed.

Exactly! At the very least it means this update will coincide with some Red Dead news over the next few months. It's a big update by the looks of things with a brand new radio station being added (to single-player too boys!) The drip-feed will probably last them all the way up until March!

Is the double-action revolver out now or will it be drip-fed in a few weeks from now?

Here we go again! My guess is that they will include both the treasure box in an update and will release new info (trailer maybe?) in the same day...

Reverse cross-promotion is going to be interesting, when Rockstar offers some irresistible hot new jet or supercar in GTA0, that you can only unlock with achievements in RDR2. That'll punch up the falling RDR2 sales, late in the year.

Awesome. It seems we finally know what that first word is. After spending so much time staring at that blurry text in the screenshot it's nice to finally have an answer. :colgate:

So, of course I did some research on "Boles" and found this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Bart_(outlaw)

Charles Earl Boles aka "Black Bart" was an English-born outlaw who was an infamous stagecoach robber in the old west. So, that's a neat little reference.

Thanks to everyone doing this detective work. I too feel like things are transpiring behind the scenes at R* and we will hopefully be learning more about RDR2 soon.
