Does Red Dead Revolver sound like sh*t too?No, not really. Sounds fine actually.

 

Why would you name your game after another gun though, especially something like a repeater? Even 'Red Dead Rifle' makes more sense.

It's called red dead redemption 2 cause it's set in the future in a steampunk setting. Nah, but I hope rockstar doesn't pull a GTA V on us with this one. I learned my lesson preordering their games. And theyll probably release a remastered PC version to rake in some extra cash

RDR0 = Revolver

RDR1 = Redemption

RDR2 = Redemption 2

 

Perfect abbreviations... until the next game comes out after

And that's been a problem in Grand Theft Auto 1-5 how? Max Payne 1-3? Keep clutching at those straws.

It sure did. That's why I've always regarded Redemption as a gamble on their part - and it paid off, and that's why it's the name that stuck. It could just as easily have been called Red Dead Revolver 2, and this one would be 3.

 

Redemption doesn't just hint at the story, it hints at the game's intention to make up for a lackluster previous game.

Not even comparable. The name GTA doesn't really say a lot and Max Payne is just the name of the protagonist.

Redemption on the other hand is the theme of the previous game so it definitely means less creativity for this one.
