i always thought the branding name of the franshise was RED DEAD instead of redemption?

 

heck even rockstar or take 2 one's said that they are looking forward to expand the RED DEAD franshise.

it's like saying all red dead games are redemption related or something. (revolver would want a word with you)

There was no franchise really. Redemption was their first IP in this "series".

After this, I would say that there's a slim chance that it's real. Another thing that might be worth mentioning, is that it was confirmed as real by a writer on TechRadar who said yesterday that his source told him that the trailer is coming on Thursday.

You missed out Revelations. I think that'd been the best name had it been a prequel.

 

But seriously if you're looking forward to the game regardless of the name, I am, then stay away from forums, usually negative people spitting their dummy out that they guessed wrong. My main hope is 1 protagonist, with a good story, quality beats quantity, nobody wants 100 missions doing the same thing each time.

Not to be all preachy people are welcome to have their own expectations and preferences.

I just hope that if there's a shorter story,a la GTA V, missions aren't counted as simply as "buy 3 masks, buy 3 outfits" etc.

I'm a bit disappointed with the title to be honest. I can understand the reason for it, they want as much association with Red Dead Redemption as possible, but Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn't even sound good. Is it even going to about redemption? How do we abbreviate Red Dead Redemption to differentiate it from Revolver now? RDR 2 obviously doesn't work any more.

 

It's a minor issue - they could call it Red Dead Retards and I'd still have bought it - but still a bit disappointing.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing the online element too. I'm not that hot on single player DLC and I've loved GTA:O.

Damn, I'm really disappointed with the release date. I was hoping for Spring 2017, we already waited so freaking long for a new Rockstar game.

 

As for the name, I couldn't care less what it is called. RDR2 actually makes sense to me, especially if it is connected to the first game.

Okay I just woke up and caught up with the news. Redemption 2 made me lol. I guess even R* themselves don't give a sh*t about Revolver. It kinda makes sense though if they plan to make more sequels for the game. There's only so many words starting with re out there and maybe none of them really work with the kind of story they wanna create. The abbreviation RDR would also apply to multiple games. It also works if this game takes place in the same universe. Still though I think it would have been a cooler title if they replaced the word Redemption.

 

Also ofc no PC release date. Maybe it'll come out on PC eventually like GTA V, but it sucks that I'm probably gonna end up buying this gsme twice just like V.
