Idk, just the way R* have worded it this time around seems different to me. I really wonder how "brand new" it's going to be though.

All I can think of is GTA Online, but in the wild west.

i think due to the time and setting, it hinders RDR2 from Being a GTAV 2.0. Brand new could maybe be the core gameplay..maybe enemies are downed now, instead of killed immediately. I think that would add to the immersion imo. Especially if factions are a thing idk. But i think It definitely has something to do with how this new "Atmospheric" world will be. Maybe R* are really going to encourage crews and cooperative play.

 

Also how the hell are they going to overprice stuff this time around? Currency was different back in Red Dead times, unless the payout for missions is literally a penny.

I can see something like that. It would fit the bill . But i can definitely see the foundation of the game being faction/posse based if not now maybe in the future.

 

Shiit i see it being super grindy man..but im a grinder anyway so i wouldn't mind.

Just a reminder that Summer officially ends on the 22nd of September this year. Since we are in the last few weeks of summer, we should see more RDR2 info by next week. That is If, and that's still a big "if" by the way, Rockstar keeps their word.

I made all my money (and my replayability) in RDR on animal hunting and bounty hunting. Much better return on investment. Rags to riches, body bags in ditches. I could probably buy a ranch, if one were for sale.

GI cover should be revealed this week. My mind is telling me no, but my body... It probably would have been teased if it was going to be the cover, but I still have hope that that's what Rockstar were referring to when talking about more to come in Summer.

 

Edit: Hunting was definitely the best way to make a buck. My Liar's Dice habit was funded entirely by wolf hearts.

Let's take a look at the 2016 forum census. It seems like the big majority of forum members (>80%) is not older than 30. And half of them is not older than 20. So probably between 30 and 40% of the forum members who participated in that poll are in that "kid range" (everyone under 18). No doubt that the biggest percentage of shark card buyers are adults, i agree with you on that. And people like to exaggerate (me included). But I still think that the number of kids and teens buying them is nothing to sneeze at (<-- is that English?).

The demographics of a specific video game forum will only show a specific subsection of the demographic of the players, the only way one could find the demographics of a certain video game would be to poll the players directly

 

Also if you naively extrapolate the existing ranges you get about 22% being under 18, but that's just nitpicking.

At least here in the States, today is considered the last day of "summer". This differs from the equinox but if someone tells me to make plans for an event next summer, I don't start looking at September's calendar. Yes they said they were "really excited" to bring us new details this "summer", but it's looks like they never intended to follow through any more than they ever intended to release the game this "fall".

 

Now it's just a matter of trying to figure out what would be their definition of "spring".

 

Still hoping for the best.
