I doubt it's finalized tbh. Rockstar probably considers many possibilities of what to include in the trailer, and don't fully decide until the last moment.

The days when R* will be releasing 2 games is nearing us post-2018. I bet people here will be shocked but that Take-Two's goal for 2019 and beyond. And that includes 2K Games, 2K Sports, Social Point, and the Independent initiative.

 

Edit: I am have a feeling we will get something related to RDR2 between September 5-14th.

My guess is September 4th, 18 days before Fall/Autumn starts.

 

I know Summer lasts 3 weeks into September, but I pretty much never expect anyone to refer to September as a summer month.

 

I think news was internally delayed from July or August.

 

 

Holidays seasons are pretty much over in Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.

 

School starts or already started pretty much everywhere too.

If we so happen to recieve another delay, i absolutely wouldn't be surprised. I just dont understand what TF they are waiting on..I have always tried to stay optimistic but damn this is f*ckin torture..ive watched all types of westerns, extensive reading on the old west, even fell in love with oil paintings depicting life & struggles of the west. Im beyond ready! I just want to get lost in the world of Rdr2 and forget the world exist for about a month or two.

All i know is Mexico has to return in some way shape or form.

They just don't want to blow their wad too soon. The end of May is nine months away, Rockstar only needs six to market their game. GTAV's marketing started in November 2012 when it's release was still set for Spring 2013 and there was a few quiet months when they delayed it until September. So far, both marketing campaigns have been outrageously similar and it worked for them last time.

 

By my logic - of which I have limited amounts - RDR2's marketing campaign will kick into full-gear in November. I wouldn't expect more than a few more screens and artworks before then.

I don't even want to think about another delay. I don't want to continue hating on R*. It's bad enough they pissed me off along with many other fellow GTAF members about R* abandoning V's SP and STILL release more retarted ass online updates that nobody in their mother gives a any f*cks about ("For those people who don't bother with online") like me.

 

Their still the same old company that made classic gta games back in the day (III,VC, SA etc...) So i can't be mad at them for what they have become recently with V's online success. They may be the same old company, but their not the same old R* we once knew long ago. Just with RDR2 updates and news would bring me hope in R* again. I just really hope they have Red Dead in their minds for some news on these months (September and November.)

RDR2's marketing campaign will kick into full-gear in November. I wouldn't expect more than a few more screens and artworks before then.

That'd be more than enough to keep us occupied for the next info. Artworks for any R* game are always very welcome, I love their art style - it's one of R*'s many unique selling propositions. There is no marketing campaign for an upcoming R* game or even downloadable content without being accompanied by their amazing artworks. I appreciate that a lot, even more the fact that lately they make every single of these artworks available for download in big resolution for us to use as wallpaper, etc.

I think in September we'll get some screens with them saying ... lots more to come over the next few months. Trailer 2 will probably hit sometime in October (they recently hired a trailer editor), Gameinformer world exclusive preview in November and then news every 2nd week at least.

Tbh i think they tested the waters after they announced the delay of RDR2 and it did not have any impact on parent company's share price and now analyst have forgot about the game coupled with GTA Online continued growth. At this point another delay will not even bother investors. And even if the game is released on schedule it will be about RDR Online.

 

EDIT: GTA Online and RDR Online constant updating will probably make both communities go nuts i can bet

It feels terrible saying this on a GTA forum but I just can't care about GTA Online anymore. I get more joy seeing the excitement on all the kids faces in the GTA Online section when an update drops Theres people all over social media just playing it for hours and hours a day, I feel burned out reading it all and haven't even played for months.

 

Meanwhile, I just want to get out onto the open plains of the heartlands and ride my horsey. The news that comes in September hopefully will be meaty enough to keep us talking into 2018 when the real countdown starts.

Same, I uninstalled the game months ago, for fairly obvious reasons...can't stop following it though.

 

I'm cautiously optimistic about RDR2, I imagine before GTAO went nuclear it was going to be a fairly standard Rockstar game, but with the success of GTAO I'm unable to have pure optimism for it - what happens when Rockstar designs a game from fairly early in development with the success of GTAO constantly growing?

It crazy that the actors for GTAV were even begging R* for a single-player expansion/dlc but GTA Online continued growth killed that vision well anyone expecting Undead Nighmare 2 are going to be waiting until Forever since RDR Online will be a replica.

 

Edit: Now i see the reason The Benz was fired. Imran Sawar (who also took the award for GTA Online at the Bafta) the man behind GTA Online influenced it i can bet.

Also, it was just a chain of posts already, no need to feel offended by that, just move on and don't respond if you don't want to derail it even more. btw with not much to say, because there's no video/audio material to talk about, I think we should be more imaginative and just express our visions/ideas/hopes for the game. based on WHATEVER really

for example one TINY TINY thing that intrigues me is the WALKING STYLE system. in GTAO you get to choose from different struts! I'm really excited for those in RDO

or simply the animation for reloading a revolver in first person mode. what will it look like? do you reload bullet by bullet, or use these "cartrdige boxes" where you just slide all bullets in at once?

 

what I'm trying to say, many people here need to ease off this "WHEN will info drop"-game and let their thoughts flow when it comes to gameplay, mechanics and what not. a general chat about the game, not a never-ending discussion about TT, their conference calls and possible release dates.

Just because people aren't talking about stuff that YOU want to talk about doesn't mean they deserve to have the piss taken out of them or be ridiculed for it - you said it your self, we have virtually no details about the game to discuss. If you have nothing to add to the subject then simply don't comment, don't get all high and mighty and then moan when somebody calls you out for it. Glass houses and all that.

IRONY? you misinterpretd me there. "everyone" here (especially BLOOD) seems to be allowed to say what they want, except for me because I LOVE THE BENZ etc...and ever since that became a "running gag" my posts just get ripped apart right and left, deleted and reported and what not.

But everything about Red Dead's SP is so much more memorable. i loved the World and the gameplay, thought it was very immersive. But John Marston was 1 of my least favorite characters in a games. The story was OK..rather dumb at times. Reasons im not really HYPE about the story, but Gameplay & Online? Thats my kinda sh*t..

i loved the World and the gameplay, thought it was very immersive. But John Marston was 1 of my least favorite characters in a games. The story was OK..rather dumb at times. Reasons im not really HYPE about the story, but Gameplay & Online? Thats my kinda sh*t..

 

I actually love John Marston, but you're right. There are so many points in that game where he's written to be a dumbass. Not to mention the fact that every character in the game takes advantage of him, and he continues to put up with it despite being a supposed notorious outlaw.
