I feel the same way man, at least hoping it isn't the next game R* release..The entire GTAO is built on cars and racing. I find standalone racing games extremely boring, idgaf who develop it. With 4 years of seeing nothing but vehicles i need a f*ckin break from cars. Thank god All the games im anticipating for a while have nothing to do with cars or racing.

^ That's the cycle of this thread ... talk RDR2, anticipate RDR2 news, anticipate a new RDR2 trailer, make suggestions of when new RDR2 info could appear, talk about Take Two's earnings call, talk about GTA Online a bit, complain about GTA V's single player being dumbed down for Online, read a 'rumor' leak or whatever of an upcoming R* game, talk about that rumor in this very thread and how excited you are, see the rumor debunked as fake, complain that R* has been lazy in releasing games this generation of platforms, anticipate RDR2 news again, get your dreams crushed by R* not releasing anything, say next week is the week, take off a few days from gtaforums, go back and start all over again.

And yes, they are no longer able to produce/deliver open world games experiences at a standard we've come to get used to, with the BENZ gone, and thus R* make hay while the darkness absorbs most of what they did, most of what MADE them, and therefore they make racing games again! gotta make SOME more dollars before you shut the door!

These dry ass livestreams that Rockstar do really annoy me sometimes. Some of the rappers they get on there are cool, but who besides little kids would want to watch those things?

 

Also I don't think I've ever experienced over-saturation with a single game before, but Rockstar have managed that with GTA V.

Remember when we all thought Take-Two was cool? Seriously though it could be worse, Rockstar could be owned by EA or Activision, and be forced to put out a new GTA game every year. Take-Two at least understands that to maximize profit (and keep things fresh) they need to release a new one every couple of years. I honestly believe companies like EA and Activision are too stupid to realize that and would just give it the COD treatment.

Funny you say that because a few months before IV came out, EA tried to buy Take Two. I recall the EA CEO saying (paraphrased) 'we wouldn't change a line of code in GTA, there'd just be way more of it.' They would have milked the series dry and right now it would be a husk of what it was. None of us really care for the the lacklustre content coming to online, but there are worse alternatives.

It's funny you say that,but annual releasing games like COD and Fifa and whatnot have relatively very strong sales.They would not release game annualy if the wouldn't sell so...
