They won't resist in teasing once the info blowout begins, just like they did with GTA V I'm betting. They started teasing for the November 2012 cover as far back as August. Somewhat doubtful they'll surprise us, unless they do I guess, but to me it's unlikely.

It's not like Rockstar have followed any sort of pattern regarding news or anything really compared to how they used to 5 years ago. Nor does Game Informer ever tease or hint at future issues any more due to leaks and NDAs.

What are the odds of R* releasing Trailer 2 in August?

We are reaching a point where new information, media, another trailer is becoming inevitable.

The Grand Theft Auto V info blowout started way back in November 2012 > planned release at that point Spring 2013.

At max I'd say we have another two droughtful months ahead with August and September ... but then we should be in for a good time.

But if R* sticks to their promise for once I guess we could see Trailer 2 air late August - mid September, followed by another - minor - info drought of 1.5/2 months or so.

I expect the obligatory Gameinformer cover story happening in their Januray 2018 issue, so published early December this year.

Wouldn't count on it with still a few things to be released for GTA Online that usually happen every Tuesday. I guess we could look forward to Thursdays

A little less than half of the year is left before it'll be 2018. Then we'll probably be flooded with screenshots, trailers, etc. of RDR2 up until it's release. We've waited this long and I'm sure we'll be able to wait even longer. The year is going by quite fast.

Rockstar kind of owe us a new trailer if you ask me. However, I'm now thinking we're going to get a series of screenshots, possibly with different titles, just like they did with GTA V. Then we'll get a new trailer in October/November.

This is nothing compared to V's marketing. The worst case is a second delay which is NOT going to happen. (or i'll choke myself)

^ If you ask me it's pretty similar to GTA V's marketing campaign so far ... it's even worse to say the least.

^ Have you seen my post above?! ... not sure what you see but I see that we are closing in on 12 months of no info at all apart from the first trailer and some lousy screenshots that tell us nothing. Also we did not have to wait 1 year for 'info' on GTA V either ... see my list above, the info droughts are quite similar so far.

I saw it. I doubt the next thing they show is going to be a bunch of more screenshots. I personally think it's going to be Trailer #2. This game's gonna come out next Spring. They're going to start the marketing soon.

^ Yeah, I also expect them to release Trailer 2 next (late August to mid September) but that doesn't change the fact that we also had to almost wait 12 months for some 'real' information on the game.

For me it feels like 10 months info drought. I mean come on those screenshots told us literally nothing about the story. We still don't even have confirmation if it's a prequel or not. The upcoming info needs to reveal us at least some part of the story or characters, then we'll finally have some things to talk and speculate about.

Rockstar's secrecy is so redundant, in my opinion. They always give us a ton of info before release anyway. Maybe this is just me, but I felt like I knew too much about GTA V before it finally released. It didn't ruin my enjoyment of the game, but there weren't a whole lot of surprises left.

By the way, like many of you, I'd prefer one single playable protagonist. However, I've been thinking that the storytelling possibilities with multiple playable characters in a western context could be really exciting if done right. For instance, having one character being an outlaw, another being a sheriff, and the last being either a Native American or former slave. It'd be cool if we got to see the different perspectives of America at that time. I'd also prefer they handle something like this more like EFLC than how it was handled in GTA V. The three leads should only cross paths once in awhile and be largely unaware of each other. I know that 'Rockstar Fa**ot' said that it would be three playable members of John's former gang, but that's honestly really boring if that is indeed the case, the three leads being in the same gang and all. It could still work, but that's just MY OPINION.
