Very curious to see how gunplay will be in Red Dead Redemption 2. What was everyone's favorite Revolver, Pistol, and Rifle in Red Dead Redemption? Curious...

The Schofield Revolver and all the shotties were my favorite weapons. The gunplay better be fun and engaging. Ive missed 1 hand shooting. R* have tried it in rdr & max payne and they should have it down packed with RDR2. Definitely interested in seeing how dual wielding and bow and arrows work. I hope they just build on everything from the first 1, things like knife throwing, the gore and executions were some of the things that made combat so fun in Rdr at least imo. I really Can't wait to see more and to finally get a release date ffs.. Around when should we expect a release date give or take?

I personally loved using the Winchester repeater and the Springfield rifle.

The Lemat but only because it had more stopping power and that's what everyone else was using. In reality though, no self respecting gunslinger would have carried one if he wanted live. The Schofield and the Cattleman's Revolver (Peacemaker/SAA) are the guns we should have leveled up to and the Lemat should have been the starter pistol.

Does anyone think RDR2 will be at Gamescom? I know T2 will be there and I personally believe that they will show RDR2 themselves instead of through Sony or Microsoft.

I highly, highly doubt it my self. It's a very hands-on event and over the years it's become increasingly multiplayer centric because of that. Doesn't really fit the bill for what Rockstar need from an event if they were to reveal RDR2 information.

Yeah thats true....I wonder then if they will reveal info or maybe even another trailer around the time that the event takes place. Like either before or after.

At least we can expect R* to share some new stuff within the last two weeks of August. If I would guess, it will be new screenshots with 'more in a few weeks or so', which probably means late October ;)

I cannot wait for the huge info drops to just start rolling in toward the end of this year :panic::rol::r*:

Nope and I don't even think Take Two are there, at least I couldn't find them on the exhibitors list the last time I looked.

EA breathing a sigh of relief at RDR2 being delayed according to their recent investors call.

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/red-dead-redemption-2-delay-opens-up-a-little-bit-/1100-6452102/

Of course this is the same stupid f*cking company that tried to snuff out CoD last year by releasing 2 anticipated shooters back to back and failing miserably, succeeding in only nearly killing One of their own franchises. lol

I hope they remove lock-on aim in multiplayer. I'm fine with it being in SP but it ruins pvp if allowed in mp and segments players using different aim modes. I'd be okay with a slight aim assist but full on lock on needs to go.

That's your personal preference, there's hardly a consensus in the community of having aim assist on or off. Although if I had to make a guess, more people would rather have lock on rather than off. Forcing aim assist off because you prefer would ruin it for more people than benefit more people.

RDR2 MP isn't exactly going to be a competitive arena like CSGO, and I don't want to be arsed with trying to aim with a controller stick.

So, the real solution is having servers with aim assist off and having servers with aim assist on.

Yup, it's especially important in a series like Red Dead. We shouldn't be able to instantly pinpoint where our enemies are in a dense forest at night.

Redemption Multiplayer did it right. Two lobbies, hardcore (free aim) and casual (lock-on), which also applies for the typical modes (e.g Deathmatch, Grab The Bag). Fair deal and play.

I agree there should just keep the different aiming modes. Personally i enjoy the gratification from a free aim kill, but who knows what direction R* goes in with RDR2. But i do feel like the auto aim in RDR was cheesy and boring especially when it came to hunting. I just hope this is built on with RDR2.

That didn't really help anything. Free aim lobbies just ended up being ghost towns. Since this entire game is built around gunplay, aiming should require some degree of skill.

In my experience, from 2010-2012, the free aim lobby was constantly full of players, including the hardcore competitive modes. But, if it was true that the free aim lobbies were ghost towns, then it might indicate that the majority of players preferred the casual lobby.

It didn't help that the free aim mode option is hidden away, I'd bet most people don't even know it's an option.

I'll be honest: I didn't play much RDR multiplayer until years after launch, so the early days may have been different. However I have spent a lot of time playing GTA Online with free aim, and every job (apart from deathmatch) is mostly dead. I'll even run into the same players when session hopping. Max Payne 3 was affected by this the most, because the playerbase was always very low. I remember switching to auto-aim just to find players some nights.

Either way, Rockstar lowkey aims for a very young audience with all their games, especially now. I'll be very surprised if they don't go out of their way to make RDR2 as casual as possible.

The assist off lobbies being empty is basically saying not a lot of people prefer assist off.

So why should people who don't like assist off be forced to play assist off because a minority of people who want more full assist off servers?
