I dont think after RDR2 will be another GTA right after. I think R* can explore different types of games than just bully red dead and GTA. I just would appreciate if R* rest the GTA IP for while, and introduce a brand new IP before another GTA. I understand GTAV is a household name and all. But R* could drop a game without revealing absolutly anything and it will probably do great.

That's actually exactly what i think is going to happen. It has to. R* usually releases 2 games before a new GTA. Maybe it'll be that new IP that San Diego was supposed to work on... if it's still in development that is. We'll find out in a couple of years but for now, give us RDR2 pls.

Kind of a good thing? i guess... Apparently Microsoft's abandoning generations and are just going to go with upgrades every couple of years but Sony has made it clear that there'll be a PS5 in a few years. As for R* not having released a single game in the past 4 years, apparently RDR2 was supposed to come out sooner but was delayed internally several times.

 

In no way is that a good thing even though Im fairly positive it will be a great game. Less games by a major studio is never a good thing for us consumers. And dont listen to that BS MS PR nonsense. Eventually, theyll have to ditch the OG Xbone and move on to a true competitor for PS5. They arent gonna be making slightly beefed up Xbox ones until the end of time. They will follow along with Sony and release the next box or whatever the hell its called. Its better for consumers and devs that way. Games wont be held back by archaic hardware and we get to experience what devs can do with that raw power

The things you mentioned have ZERO to do with them showing stuff for the game. All R* games get delayed so don't make that a big deal. The delay has nothing to do with your "lord"... It simply happened because Rockstar needs more time to make the game the best it can be.

I actually got a good laugh out of that article. I'm sure Ubisoft wishes their games had as big of an impact as Rockstar's does.

While Ubisoft will never be able to compete with the sales of Rockstar's heavy hitters, I don't think they realize that all they have to do to improve the quality of their games is to step back, take their time, and not release 20 games every year.

I believe it will take much more than that. Not only does Rockstar take years to release a heavy hitter, but they also do think way out of the box and research untapped technologies. See what type of concepts and themes they explore in their games and you will barely find anything that resembles them. Bully? Manhunt? Red Dead? Who makes these weird and barely touched upon stories in games? We can also talk about how they first managed to corner Euphoria animations engine before any developer back in 2008, and how it was a technical challenge while developing GTA 4 (Good to read). If it was for ubisoft, they would've gone with typical ragdoll animations and slapped whatever into the game to ship it as early as possible. Taking more time, yeah, but mastering the Rockstar art needs more magic so to speak, and an appetite for risky investments.

Of course the delay is a good thing, Ubisoft SUCKS. They're pretty much the worst AAA dev right now. Everything they've released in the last few years has been a major disappointment and has collapsed from technical failings. For Honor, P2P hosting and overall poor PvP mechanics, player based dried up. The Division, messed up their math and bullet sponge enemies + failed 'Dark Zone' annihilated player base. Watch Dogs 2 (and 1) both were a cute attempt to take on GTA but managed to be more of a mess than anything. Of course at this point Ubisoft is mostly famous for showing games off that on release are majorly dumbed down graphically. Assassins Creed? WHO CARES anymore, sheesh. The story has gone off the rails, since Black Flag (which was very fun to play) there really hasn't been a tangible story to follow, it's most just "Look at the graphics, play the game, ignore the story content" in design. What it comes down to is Ubisoft isn't presenting much. WHY are the confident they'll make increasing profits? Because if they weren't confident they'd lose STOCK VALUE. These a$$hats don't actually think they're going to start making more money, they just can't openly say that because they're a corporation and admitting you expect profits to slide hurts your trade prices. This is about keeping their stocked valued, NOT about a honest prediction.

It's kind of revealing what Ubisoft's priorities are when they're saying it's good for the sales of their games that it got delayed, but they aren't using the delay as a model for themselves to follow. I mean seriously just looking at AC Origins, that needs at least another 6 months because those animations are god awful.

Theyre are some developers i would take a chance with..but not with Ubish*t. Visuals & world design for Ubisoft games aint too bad tho.. it's the GAMEPLAY and STORIES. Personally Its just lackluster cookie cutter repetitive open world games. I have high standards wen it comes to what i play no thanks to R*. I expect Quality gameplay, a great story & the extent of replay ability when it comes to games. I mean the R* editor alone is 1 of the dopest features that keeps GTAV alive on its own.

I think there's 2 more to come, after several years of mediocrity I can see this generation going out with a bang with Rockstar being a big part of that. I'd guess RDR2 (2018)--->Bully 2 (2019)---->GTA 6 (2020/2021).

 

They would be crazy to leave all that money on the table from the combined install base of Ps4+XB1 nearing the end of the generation. Releasing another GTA at the end of the generation also gives them the excuse to do another triple dip for PS5 and eventually PC.

 

Keep in mind PS4 pro was like a mid gen refresh so I think it's safe to say we have another 3-4 years left until PS5

that guy is incorrect, Ubisoft has the best selling game of the year so far. The worst developer by far is EA/Bioware, they have slowly been going down the sh*tter
