Red Dead will definitely be mentioned during Sony's conference, probably something to do with first-person mode and VR.

If you're referring to VR in RDR2, then no, definitely not. We haven't got to that level yet.

it actually is. The PS4 doesnt have the power for a VR mode for RDR2.

I could see an RDR2 VR demo like they've got many developers to do. That is really as far as it'll probably go though.

Nah, think the PS4Pro is a little under, especially for a game like RDR2.

 

There's also the game design problems of things like locomotion and forced movement that haven't really been "solved" and require making a game from the ground up to be a VR game, which is no easy process and pretty unlikely for RDR2.

 

Implementing VR is a lot more fundamental than slapping on head tracking to the camera, and it doesn't mesh well with the gameplay of RDR2 or GTA ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dude, there are still more regular PS4´s than PS4 Pro´s, so it´s not very much profitable for Rockstar to develop a VR version

 

And if they are gonna tip their toes in VR water, I´ll bet anything it´s gonna be some kind of GTAV re-remasterd VR demo

I'm looking forward to EA's conference I want to see more on that Star Wars open world game they're working on. Ubisoft's conference is always entertaining but they aren't bringing back Aisha Tyler this year so idk. I don't expect anything from Sony I wish they'd bring back The Getaway and release a new game but that isn't happening ever.

E3 this year will be crazy heard Take-Two will be there to ink some acquisition deals.

 

Edit: KSP acquisition was the start to E3 buying spree. According to weird analysts sources Take-Two wants to minimise it depends on GTA and Sports to 10% from 30%-40%. And they are looking to do another 5-10 $20-100 million acquisitions at Social Point and Independent Publishing. I also heard that RDR2 is getting less marketing in favour of NBA2K18 and WWE2K18 plus another untitled sport franchise beginning in 2018/2019.

 

Note: Take some of these with a grain of salt guys

Of course RDR2 is getting less marketing than NBA and WWE2K as those games are coming out soon. We might see a few Red Dead assets in the coming months, but the marketing won't ramp up until late-October at the earliest.

My source are few analysts that work on Wall Streets and do advice for many publicly-traded companies. On another note it interesting to see GTA and Sports will not be their biggest cash cow going forward maybe it leads to reorganisation of the Rockstar and 2K labels. And that untitled Sport IP could be Amped or Top Spin revival? or maybe they get into Football to go up against EA's Fifa and Konami's PES? Time shall Tell. Anyway it was clear they were going to build Social Point into a massive label after Strauss Zelnick comment few days ago at Cowen. And Interesting to see them doing acquisition to be the #1 place for Independent development.

 

Edit: I will not take the analyst word of RDR2 getting less marketing in favour of NBA2K18 and WWE2K18 unless they are full on going to milk the online component even more than GTA Online so it make sense to ditch marketing to the Story mode. It sad though. At this point i think Take-Two wants to be as big as EA and Activision so they could care less about Story mode in return for non-stop cash flow from microtransactions [like Strauss Zelnick hinted (?) at the Cowen conference]

I wish they'd bring back NFL 2K or All Pro Football back if they can't get the NFL licence.

 

f*cking EA I wish they'd never have signed that exclusivity deal with the NFL back in 2004. Madden sucks

Zello: True that. They could also piss on EA by acquiring the developer and publisher of NBA Playgrounds . And do a joint-venture with Konami for the PES franchise in exchange for a minor stake in the NBA2K franchise.

 

Edit: Tbh i rather start a fresh new football franchise that risk selling a stake in the biggest sport franchise in gaming. NBA Playgrounds team will fit Visual Concepts as well.

The thing with Football is FIFA is the highest authority in the land on it. What could T2 do? UEFA? Wouldn't pull as much interest as a FIFA game. It's like a game based on V8 Supercars trying to compete with Codies F1 games. Their only chance with sports is to try and bring some light to less popular sports. Cricket, rugby, AFL.
