Why are people still comparing Far Cry 5 with RDR2? The game has nothing to do with the wild west whatsoever.

 

Those people maybe dont know these games Genre are different!

 

but i find it as a disrespect to Rockstar games!! ubisoft makes weak games that people play those for a few weeks.... why someone should compare a ubisoft game to a R* game ... cant understand these people

Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have a finished, well-made game that doesn't have a set release date for a while than an unfinished, rushed one with a release date announced immediately. I'm actually a fan of many Ubisoft games, primarily the Assassin's Creed series, but I really don't think Rockstar needs to take notes from Ubisoft on anything.

Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have a delayed, disappointing game that still doesn't have a set release date after 5 years than a timely, just as disappointing one with a release date announced immediately.

 

But for real, Rockstar used to release games every year just like any other company. The amount of delays GTA V had didn't make it some perfect game, in fact it may have ended up worse with all the cut content over time. The last year of development was likely spent just optimizing/trimming the game for the century old hardware, which ended up being another waste of time, seeing as they dropped support for it a year after launch.

I would not blame the devs. IMO T2 is the one responsible for the early announcement for shareholder purposes. The same reason behind the timing of the delay announcement. It is pretty obvious it is all T2 earnings projections motivated.

Thats what happens when they announce a game a year and a half in advance and keep quiet for most of that time. I really hope this blows back in their faces some how

I think it has died down because even though it is delayed we now have a concrete window of when the next update will be given. Anywhere from June to august we should expect news. The reason it was so busy in here was everyone was anticipating an update almost every week. That is no longer the case but i expect traffic will pick up against closer to summer and the cycle will begin again.

Sorry to double posts guys. Can a mod delete one of those posts for me please? I'm not sure how to do it. The only games I like from them (UBI) are Far Cry and AC. Some of the later AC games haven't interested me and I'm hoping AC origins is good. Watch Dogs 1 was cool though. Division was so boring lmafo, I remember playing the demo with my friends and I just wanted to die. I'm excited for both RDR2 and FC5! Can't wait to play them next year.

Actually, I really like how Ubisoft try, you know they try to keep their players interested, it look like they are always positive over there; even with all the critics; and still after their f*cking downgrade *cough*WD division R6*cough* and huge internet killing by a lot of players, they made a move and didn't showed WD2 as a '(photo-realistic game)' neither wild land and still, these 2 games looks really good in term of graphics, even the gameplay; look like games you can actually have some fun ! and most important, games that kept their promises.

 

And I'm definitely looking forward FC5.

I just find it strange that many people aren't expressing concern over this game being to much focus online and neglecting the campaign(looking at you V) I just hope there's an equal balance of both so as not to divide the player base. Although from the looks of the description my fears seem to be coming true

I said this a couple posts back. If R* turns RDR2's online like what they did with gta 5's trash online then i would be really disappointed in them. They screwed the SP over online and abandon it. A regular online mode would be nice just keeping things at a perfect balance between the both modes like you mentioned. Edited May 28, 2017 by GTA_The_Series

Yeah, since the announcement they specified that will be a brand new online experience. That worries me too

While i am sure the law suits may have caused interference and distraction with development, imo i doubt it had much bearing on the timing of the announcements. I still firmly believe the were purely shareholder driven.

According to corporate report and filing as 2017, Rockstar New York (R* NYC) is a development division of Rockstar Games. I am sure they are the ones handling the Social Club, Newswire, and updates to GTA Online.

 

Edit/Note: Hangar 13 is a development division of 2K Games. It seems like Ghost Story (fka Irrational Games) will surprise the world come E3.

They indeed are. But they also do QA, motion capture, audio recording, and all that. And that is part of game development.
