Or South Africa. Particularly during the Boer wars of the 1880s-1890s. English and Dutch settlers fighting over who gets land rights, along with fighting native Zulu warriors. Wild and and dangerous African beasts. Varied terrain from deserts to grassy savanna to forest to snowy mountains.

Frontier towns. black powder guns of American, English, Dutch, German, and French heritage.

 

All sounds very Old West to me, but with elephants and lions thrown into the mix. Conjurs up the idea of an english explorer with a pith helmet, twirly moustache, monocle, and a 4 bore elephant gun.

We can always imagine an alternative timeline were Rockstar/Take-Two did not have GTA. Then they keep milking RDR, Midnight Club, L.A. Noire . Good morning you all

 

Edit: GTA is the Biggest Game franchise on the planet second to Mario. Heck GTA as a standalone studio [similiar to Pokemon co but GTA Games co] will be worth more than Take-Two and even at $20 Billion valuation which they should it by 2019, GTA makes up 80% of that. So every other franchises under Take-Two is overshadowed except for Sports. Same reason i think RDR Online will be delayed or cancelled for a tone-down tack-on multiplayer.

Heck GTA as a standalone studio [similiar to Pokemon co but GTA Games co] will be worth more than Take-Two and even at $20 Billion valuation which they should it by 2019, GTA makes up 80% of that. So every other franchises under Take-Two is overshadowed except for Sports. Same reason i think RDR Online will be delayed or cancelled for a tone-down tack-on multiplayer.

Well it's not hard to predict that. Of course we will have a trailer #2. I doubt that they'll launch the game with one teaser and a bunch of screenshots

Even if we did believe you, it's not really going to change our outlook on things You're making a statement without the back-up of a source or even a specific date. I could say something like I've heard off some Rockstar insider pals new screenshots are coming soon, wouldn't change anyones hype really as both our statements would be true, because they will happen eventually I'm sure!

 

I still personally think we can hold on to a tiny bit of hope for a mention at Sony's conference, though it might not be anything new. I'll be watching all the conferences anyway to see what's coming soon.

 

There's also other things that we could look forward to Rockstar announcing that doesn't involve *news* as such as well, like the possibility of announcing a collector's edition, or updating their website to add the screenshots.

Now that RDR2 is still around one year away I'm on the verge of buying GTA V for PS4 and give this game another try after I stopped playing the PS3 version in late 2013. Good work R*! That's why this game must still sell 5+ million copies every quarter.

This needs to seriously be considered. I get that sources (if real) cannot be given out like candy to any and every user here, but these people who claim to have insider knowledge need to be vetted by Admins. If they can confirm their information privately with an Admin, they can post. If they can't, they need to stop trolling and get suspended or banned as DeeDogg_ suggested.

Talking about fantasies...anyhow, you're doing it wrong friend! don't look at it as a sh*tty cashcow, look at it as a RED DEAD simulator. get yourself some cowboy/bandit outfits, (I know the choice of cowboy hats is not cool at all, whatever) then head out into the desert and paleto bay area. enjoy sunsets and mountains and just walk around the world. or get some oldtimer and cruise around really slowly, soak in the environment, turn off the radio.

Far Cry 5 is out on Febuary 27th - wonder where that director pulled September from? Eitherway, the packing of early 2018 has begun! FC5, RDR2, no doubt we'll see more games announced for it at E3.

It really doesn't look like competition at all. I'm not saying that in a way like "oh lol far cry looks sh*t," but rather it and RDR2 are completley different. This actually looks and will probably play more like Mafia 3.

It looks like a more rural GTA V if you ask me, looks interesting though. Two player co-op story is pretty cool as well, not enough co-op story these days sadly.

Delayed due to competition this year ? Fall of this year is packed so it wouldn't suprise me .

^ Doubt it. Fall is always packed, there's zero chance Rockstar announced it for the Fall thinking "this is the year it'll be empty!". Releasing in a packed Fall can be a problem if you're not one of the big, big heavy hitters, which RDR2 is so it really wasn't an issue - Take-Two said as much after the recent conference call.
