This may hold true, but one of the major problems is the fact that they still don't have a definitive release date, which is kind of concerning,

 

The release date will be set once the game is gone gold

 

The release date has nothing to do with the game going gold. GTA 5's release date was announced on January 31st 2013 and the game didn't go gold till august 24th 2013. They could've delayed the game again if needed. The game goes gold once it's 100% done regardless if they've announce a release date. Hopefully by the end of the year we get a release date for RDR 2 as that would encourage more people to pre-order as well. I'm personally not pre-ordering until we get a believable release date. Most likely around December or January. I swear it will be so depressing if the game gets another delay.

 

You're right, my bad! Anyway I think a specific date a year in advance is too much. I'm sure the release date will arrive at the right moment.

Sam is in his office when he hears a knock at the door from his secretary. It's been a busy week for him after the big news of Red Dead Redemption 2 getting delayed they still haven't released a lot of info aside from a couple of screenshots. Sam thought those screenshots would keep people happy he was wrong all week they've been getting calls from gaming journalists asking for exclusive interviews.

 

"Who is it?"

 

"It's the gaming press Sam they want exclusive interviews on why it was delayed are we even going to be at E3?"

 

"Tell them we'll do stuff this summer."

 

"They're very impatient Sam they're hungry for blood and-"

 

One of the hungry journalists runs into the office in seconds Sam's office is filled with journalists begging him to answer their questions. Sam is shocked and afraid.

 

"f*cking sh*t not this sh*t again."

 

Sam jumps out of the window and escapes

First Details for the Gunrunning Update released, they'll probably concentrate on that for a while before doing anything RDR2 related

 

This is what I f*cking hate about R*. They announce a new game and leave us with absolutely jacksh*t for more than half of a year. Then delay it by more than 6 months, and then continue to leave us in the dark. Now its back to squeezing every penny from that sh*t game. What the f*ck kind of business practice is that?

 

They even waited until the markets closed to delay it. They dont give a sh*t about nothing but money. They're no better than Activision or EA....well I dont mean that, their games are actually good. But Im f*cking furious... now we wait for 4 months until we get a doctored screenshot

The game is still a year away at this point. Going to have to expect more silence till the Summer which is when they specifically said they'll share more.

label subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive which is publicly-traded [TTWO] so the announcement before earnings make sense plus RDR aint GTA [the latter is so Big and Powerful it literally brings in 50% of their revenue and profit].

 

Edit: We talk more on the Take-Two thread. It Will be cool to see an RDR spin-off set in Ancient England [not really Ancient but around 1500].

We need to keep the train going, it's gonna be a long 12 months until RDR2, but to put it into perspective it was like over 2 months ago we were discussing all those cast resumé leaks that Neudd found.

 

Since Gunrunning is coming in June, probably the during the first week, the rest of the month will most likely be taken up with that. July or August could be our month.

I almost forgot to take Gunrunning and its drip fed content into account (which will most likely run all the way through July according to Fun), so that definitely puts June and maybe July out of the picture for more RDR2 info.

 

I think by late August we could definitely see a proper second trailer and then maybe some chunky previews in mid-September.

we shouldnt have to be waiting that long to get another batch of photoshopped screens that tell us nothing. That means that between October 2016 and August 2017 all we'll have is a few screens

If we apply the same timeline from GTAV to RDR2, imagining it was going to come out the planned Spring 2013, then it was the same back then too, longer in fact.

 

November announcement > 2 screenshots in July > Batch of screenshots in August > One piece of artwork in October and a release window > Game Informer cover in November

 

We could get a similar screenshot series in the summer, and then fall could pave the way for media previews.

This has probably been mentioned already so I apologize in advance as I haven't been keeping track of all posts here since the Delay Announcement:

 

May 18 falls on a Friday in 2018. That would be the 8th anniversary of RDR1. That would probably be a great time for release when you take into account the anniversary date as well as May 18 falling right around the second half of Spring so it also gives them a bit more leeway as far as their new target of "Spring" 2018.
