I guess we have to tell the trailer guy some bad news the time didn't come so we won't be able to run and not look back

No chance we get a 2nd trailer before September at the earliest. I think October/November is the best bet. GTAV's second trailer and GI article released in those months when that game was still set for a Spring 2013 release.

I wouldn't be shocked if we got a few more screens/artwork in July/August, but June will be a dead month.

Slightly off-topic: What's everyone going to play this Fall? Ever since RDR2 got delayed, I've been looking at the schedule and coming away unimpressed. Almost everything is from a major franchise that I don't care about (mostly FPSers too). Hopefully some more stuff gets announced at E3.

I'm well stocked atm, Injustice 2 will keep me occupied and I plan on buying MEA when it's no longer a buggy mess. I completely forgot about RDR2 during the news drought and I intend to forget about it again until they communicate again.

Zello's House

A bunch of reporters are lined up outside of his house. Today Zello was announcing what game he was going to purchase this fall after looking at the packed fall schedule.

"Zello so the answer to the question everybody wants to know what's your decision?"

"This fall man this is tough...this fall I've decided to take my money and spend it on NBA 2k18."

"NBA 2k18 why?"

"Well umm after looking at the upcoming games coming this fall I'm not interested in any of them. I've never been a Far cry fan, Assasins creed just isn't for me, and Call of Duty please get out of here with that sh*t. The only contender that really interested me was Battlefront 2 I know it's EA maybe I buy it later when there's a price drop but I'm just gonna go ahead and buy NBA 2k18."

"Did this have anything to do with the Red Dead Redemption 2 delay?"

"Well yes but it's Rockstar I'll accept the delay. They make great games and it takes time to make perfection by buying NBA 2k18 I'm not leaving Take Two interactive family. Going through this process and what ultimately helped me make this decision was you have to do what's best you and what would make me happy after all it is my money."

"You do know that sports games are just roster updates. You can't be serious."

"I am fully aware that it could just be a roster update that they are charging me $60 for but I believe in that dev team behind the NBA 2k series will deliver a solid experience for me to enjoy this fall."

"There you have it folks Zello has lost his mind."

I don't think I could handle it getting delayed to fall 2018. That would just be torture.

Jim Cramer did a segment on TTWO on CNBC this afternoon, 24 May. I didn't have the audio, but I saw the whole video.

This is just a story about it; if I can find a video link, I'll edit this post.

Zelnick was on, talking about the delay and about TTWO stock. Where's BLOOD? He should be all over this.

EDIT: Here's another story:

Executive Decision: Take-Two Interactive

In his second "Executive Decision" segment, Cramer spoke with Strauss Zelnick, chairman and CEO of Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) , the gaming stock that plunged 10% Monday after the company reported a delay in the release of an upcoming title -- the long-awaited sequel "Red Dead Redemption 2," only to jump 5.5% Tuesday on strong earnings and another 6.7% Wednesday. Shares of Take-Two are now up 58% for the year.

Zelnick said that Take-Two has transitioned after from a hit-driven business to one that has sustained engagement with its users and can monetize that engagement. His company also has substantially higher gross margins than ever before.

Delaying a game release is a tough decision, Zelnick said, but quality must come first and this isn't the first time that his company has decided to wait.

Zelnick was most excited about Take-Two's joint venture with the NBA to create an international eSports league, the first competitive gaming league for a pro sports franchise. There are currently 17 NBA teams participating and an estimated 80 million eSports fans around the globe.

That's a good timetable to look at. As long as Rockstar keep their schedule (haha) then we should expect continuous information starting from October onwards. Get rid of the quiet info months December through to March and that is a solid campaign - the 2nd January news was announcing a delay from Spring to September.

Worth mentioning, I'd rather these next four months be quiet and then a big info blowout in October, compared to a big info blowout in July and then another four months of silence.

ehhh. No. Starting from July maybe. The GTAV info train went on for a little under a year until release. This might play out the same way

The only reason why the marketing campaign went for a year is because the game was delayed from Spring to September 2013. Rockstar ramped up the marketing in late October for an April/May release. It got delayed in January which is why all those months between December and April were so quiet. If the game had hit its schedule, all the content that Rockstar released from April through to September would have come during that drought.

Marketing for GTAV started in the October before a Spring 2013 release. Marketing for RDR2 should start in a similar time period for a Spring 2018 release.

Well, I think we're right at the start of a 2nd (but smaller) info drought of about 2-3 months (lol, it's really like a weather forecast in here). I expect the "Summer info" in August. And then news almost every week starting with October/November.

Hopefully with this delay they are working on a PC version (I can hope ok)

Or atleast refining the game to have less glitches than RDR1 (remember the manpig?)

Or knowing 2013+ R* probably making sure Online works perfectly while the Story Mode has less features :')

Dat animations and dat physx and view of distance and ..... in RDR still i cant find a game like that ..... it was 2010 bruuuuuuuuuuh and a sh*ty hardware ( ps3/xb360 pc power ) ... and you say RDR had terrible frame rate!!:sui:

i played on ps3 and i know it had drop fps but so many other games had it too and at least it was amazing in graphics ;)

I believe THE BEST DEVELOPER ( HOLY R* ) is going to make THE BEST GAME EVER MADE :r*:

At this point why even make sequels or new IPs when you got Digital, 2K Sports NBA and WWE titles, and GTA V and GTA Online, and Mobile? @Zello: LOL!

Edit: It seems like RDR2 could be the only game from the franchise we are getting in a long time before RDR3 or whatever it called if RDR Online is as wildly successful as GTA Online. I might get NBA2K18 BTW 😁

Because it's true. Try to replay it now, sometimes it's like watching a photographic album. Bad framerate due to bad optimization. Even the graphics was insane

i know dude :D i can still play it on ps3

but it was for 2010 + weak hardware

GTAV as a last gen game was good on current gen consoles so first r* game for current gen consoles is going to have good optimization...im sure

im a pc gamer and i always play games on 1440p 90-144fps but if i want to play RDR2 on ps4 pro .....i want best graphics r* can make on 1080p stable 30fps and im sure we will get it!! but daaaaamn thing is we had to wait a long time :(

The release date has nothing to do with the game going gold. GTA 5's release date was announced on January 31st 2013 and the game didn't go gold till august 24th 2013. They could've delayed the game again if needed. The game goes gold once it's 100% done regardless if they've announce a release date. Hopefully by the end of the year we get a release date for RDR 2 as that would encourage more people to pre-order as well. I'm personally not pre-ordering until we get a believable release date. Most likely around December or January. I swear it will be so depressing if the game gets another delay.
