So I wonder what the chances are that this game will get any SP DLC. Probably slim to none, what do you guys think?

Probably not R* doesn't want to divide the player base

You're thinking of multiplayer dlc. Single player dlc can't divide the player base of its, for well single player! Haha

As to an answer...who knows. We don't even have any info on the base game let alone future dlc

Yeah good point. However I'm wondering if Rockstar even has much of a Singleplayer fanbase left now because with the way GTA V was handled Rockstar made it VERY clear that they want absolutely nothing to do with their SP fans anymore!

I think Bethesda picked off most of Rockstar's disowned and disavowed SP gamers and that really helped to drive the Fallout franchise success.

I disagree with that.

Just because GTA Online is now doesn't mean Singleplayer fans just moved on from Rockstar.

There are millions of players that love Red Dead Redemption, Bully, Max Payne, LA Noire, Manhunt, etc. still to this day. I mean a lot of the hype for RDR2 is over the Single Player not the online....at least that's what I've seen in my comment section whenever I even bring up Online.

I just wanted to say, to all those folks who thought that "leaked" shot was a so obvious cut & paste Photoshop job.....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!

That is all.

*literally looking at RDR2 game disc in my hands, on release day*

they still have a SP fan base, but the way SP games are handled nowadays the longevity is in Online. Personally, Once the SP is over depending on the replay value, Online is the my first interest.

I know what you mean pal, it just seems like Fallout and Skyrim type open-world rpg's are rapidly becoming the last safe havens for singleplayers like myself.

R* evened out SP and Multiplayer with IV/EFLC and RDR, hell maybe even MCLA. GTA V was a mixed bag for some, but I hardly see the replay value in it, it looks good but outside of visuals it lacks completely. I don't want RDR2 to be another jump to an online mode, SP needs focus as well.

Agree 100% with you here my friend, however I feel that Rockstar has become so obsessed with cheap and easy profit from microtransactions/shark cards that there is probably no going back.

I wish I was wrong but the future looks kinda bleak the way things are headed.

I'm curious if Rockstar will still do Singleplayer games in the far future.

Rockstar's beautiful virtual worlds deserve not just one SP story, but many. Rockstar should get the best of both SP and Online, by designing the world and the bullsh*t recurrent consumer spending Online PvP that they love so much, and let independent developers write, script and code the single player games; many of them. Almost no risk to Rockstar, just income, if fans buy the new SP games.

Rockstar wouldn't even have to make the pretense that they give a sh*t about SP any more. It's obvious from the difficulty of Heists, and from their complaining about the cost of the EFLC, that they find real content development to be a drag. Let Rockstar concentrate on the maps and the engine.

By letting authorized developers create the SP and Virtual Reality content, whole new demographics would buy the basic game. These devs could build PvE and Sims-like environments, big social meeting places, Second Life type of spaces, things that are way beyond the limited "shoot-everything-that-moves-and-blowin-sh*t-up" modes that define Rockstar HD games now.

Even the beautiful GTAV world could gain a whole new Sims-like demographic of fans who would love to live and role play in glamorous and gritty Los Santos. Just let a third party developer have at it. They could even change the name of the game, so Rockstar doesn't have any dilution of their brand.

They just need to announce a release date, man. I would love nothing more than to see a September/ October date.

If its delayed after 8 months of silence that sh*t is mighty unprofessional and rockstar would of learnt absolutely nothing.

I don't think it will be delayed. That would be horrendous even for rockstar.

yea considering that during the time they were working on V, they were also releasing games every year from the time IV released, hopefully these next few weeks will end the silence.

Next week last chance. Crossing fingers for a countdown which will lead to E3.

Obviously this would impact main stream hype best possible way also Rockstar doesn't need it but it would add some extra spice . Especially because all big ones already announced their blockbuster titles.

At least 23rd we know if it will slip out of FY18 when T2 announces their forecast

Has their official website just been changed? It still says fall for RDR2 which I'm sure you guys know but wouldn't that mean it's still on track?

There has been no official announcement about the date other than the initial announcement, so why would they change it? It'll be there until it's delayed.

When RDR2 was teased the first time that sunday, when did that event end? before the reveal or after ?

After. It was the first bi-weekly event, and RDR2 was announced during that break. Now they're all over the place, we've had weekly, bi-weekly...

So realistically, what are the chances of T2 saying anything about it on the 23rd? A date? development? when we'll see it?

Let's sit back and enjoy once more the beauty of Red Dead Redemption ... damn, this game still holds up so well after almost seven years since release and those horse animations :inlove: are still unparalleled in gaming to date!

It was enough to make me finally sign up suffer the long wait with the rest of you. Haven't played as many games as most folks here, and there's few I really liked, but for me RDR is everything. 2 can't get here quick enough.

The most fun I've had in SP since 2004's San Andreas and MP.

One PS3 disk broke and didn't work anymore, next day I bought a new one. Loyalty to the end.
