Hello everybody!, just joined to the forum, I've been reading this post for days just to be updated with any news or leaks about RDR2 (can’t wait!!). And also wanted to share one of those recaps on the SocialClub from the Multiplayer Events on RDR back in April 2013, where I was mentioned. Anyone else here remembers those events or was mentioned in any recap as well? if so please share!

On PS3, Walton’s Gang and the Marshals had a bang up time in a Gang Shootout in Armadillo. With the likes of LarsDK and RedDeadDev1 fighting for the former and MajorDirt and German__79 for the latter, we were ready to go. Right from the jump, the Marshals were just a little quicker to the draw – MajorDirt’s hit on LarsDK and Serok-Apo's defeat of Reality_Cheque helped them beat Walton’s Gang in the showdown. Back in town, Cesar-Braindead let ‘em know what kind game it was going to be when they shot up burakhan98 (PSN ID) two times in a row. After some more domination by the Marshals, including MajorDirt’s execution of Serok-Apo and another kill for Cesar-Braindead, Walton’s Gang started to show some life. Out of nowhere, LarsDK was on fire – not figuratively, literally on fire. Still, LarsDK was able to withstand the burn and the assault of Brooklyn Jay and took out him and Reality_Cheque before finally getting silenced by getarealjob and their Schofield from 21 yards out. With a few minutes left, Walton’s Gang had a big surge was up $2650 to $1900. Though it looked like things could be over for the Marshals, lewdbeetle14470 did not get the memo as they blew off pen1985’s noggin. This opened up the floodgates to some big hurt for Walton’s as Cesar-Braindead, German__79 and Reality_Cheque all got their kill on. Suddenly, with less than two minutes to go, the Marshals were back in the lead and this time, things would stay that way. Walton’s Gang wound up losing $5,000 to $2,850 with Cesar-Braindead earning top player honors ($1450, 29 kills).

The one and only time I've had my name on the Newswire was a Red Dead Redemption event back in 2013 as well lol. I'm in the main list at the bottom "MissCloud". Recognise a few other forumers too.

Lol it's not "fake", it's fan art. It was even on the Newswire back in October.

Exactly.

At times the dialogue in RDR1 was brilliant. Lets hope RDR2 can equal the mastery of it's ancestor.

One of my favourite lines from a western is from The good, the bad and the ugly: "You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig"

What's your favourite line, whether from RDR1 or not?

A gun cocks, the R* logo, a insane score plays as the gameplay reveal rolls...crowd goes ballistic! Just a E3 prevision

The huge E3 auditorium goes silent, as all the screens fade to black ...

A gun cocks, the deep red R* logo fades in, full screen.

Anticipatory crowd roar rises, reaching a crescendo as the R* logo is replaced by a macro closeup of a gloved hand, side view of the hand holding the cocked six-shooter, silhouetted by a backdrop of big sky, and slowly wafting waves of grain. At the same time, an insane, plaintive western harmonica chord builds. The crowd is apesh*t with ecstasy. The trigger finger pulls ...

POOF! Sad trombone sounds, as the camera pulls out to show the gun barrel, puffing out a joke flag, reading "NO INFO, SUCKERS!"

The scene fades to black, with only the words remaining on the screen, "NO INFO, SUCKERS!"

The audience goes into full-on soccer hooligan rampage mode, ripping out every bit of non-structural material in the convention center. The raging, disappointed crowd then proceeds to wreak a massive wave of destruction upon the streets of Los Angeles surrounding the convention center, until the National Guard is called in, to put them all down.

RDR2 is shelved, never to be released, even though it was 99% finished, since the obscenely huge ad budget for RDR2 has to be redirected to pay the city of Los Angeles for all the damages and civil lawsuits. With no marketing budget, Rockstar knows the game will never sell.

The End.

Nice. Rockstar recognises the expertise and probably wish they had done it first.

Whatever designers and creative people there are in Rockstar marketing probably hired in to this premiere, #1 video game company, anticipating that they would be working to their fullest creative potential, designing and producing the most beautiful, clever, rich, satisfying, award-winning marketing materials the world has ever seen, for a AAA property with expected higher gross sales than all but the biggest worldwide blockbuster movies.

Any one of them probably saw this nice fan art and said, "It's good, but I could have cranked this out before morning coffee, and made a draft gameplay trailer in the afternoon." Seriously, each of these talented people, educated at some of the best commercial art schools in the world, could make a portfolio's worth of totally ass-kicking RDR2 marketing materials and multimedia every week.

But nooooooooooooooooo. Instead, the creatives in the Rockstar marketing department get the job of dealing with third-party printers, trying to scam the lowest bid for "Fall 2017" posters and cowboy silhouette cardboard cutouts, for shipment to GameStop locations. A rewarding marketing career, indeed.

Haha I had a dream similar to that... They released another 1 minute trailer and it showed a few random characters, then at the end it said "No release date"

We all know R* blew their budget on hookers and cocaine I'm sure this how all R* marketing meetings go

Thanks. This is a nice series -- like "webcams of the old west" :p Makes me long for Red Dead

It will be a shame if RDR2 does not include Mexico.

Don't count on it. From what we've seen it looks more like the actual 19th-early 20th century frontier, rather than the spaghetti western deserts. i.e., Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado rather than Texas, NM, Arizona, and Nevada.

Hell. A good majority of the infamous Old West happenings were in Kansas, Colorado, and South Dakota. Can't forget that prior to WWII, anything west of the Mississippi was called 'The West'. Missouri was in 'the west' back them.

Especially with Mexicans being at the forefront of that era, but if the "leaked" map perhaps is real it seem that some part of Mexico or something might have been worked on or thought of maybe. There is a piece on the leaked map that seems to have all latin towns.

On another note; Am i the only one hoping the leaked map is a fake or rough copy perhaps? Granted it might be slightly bigger, but i would like to see R* really stand on the notion of a "Huge sprawling open world" i wont mind those extra long rides taking in the beautiful world of rdr2 at all.

Yeah, I haven't looked closely at that map, but I wasn't impressed, and I'm also hoping it's not real. I want bigger areas.

The eventual confirmation of the GTAV map, as it got near release time, was one thing that was disappointing to know in advance, because it really squashed our expectations for the size of the game world.

It's unquestionably fake. No way something that big would get leaked and not get shut down hard. And none of the locations seen in the trailer really have any analogue in the map. Not only that, there's no reason to believe it's real other than "I want to believe"

I'd put money on it being fanmade.

Yeah, plus the idea that Rockstar would reuse part of the old map just doesn't feel right, no matter how small a portion it is.

It's not tho, Hugh Langley's Inside Source confirmed it. You know....The guy that told us when the RDR2 trailer was coming and GTA 6 beginning production. Maybe not a finished version of it but very real.

Plus with Dutch's Gang being a part of RDR2, West Elizabeth has to be within the game as that was pretty much where they operated out of. Seeing that John had never been to Armadillo, Tumbleweed, Fort Mercer or any of the places in RDR we can assume he's journeyed east or north. Just because you don't like how the map is based on size or whatever this is the real deal, lots of historical meaning behind some of the locations listed as well.

Only reason why anyone is skeptical is because of the New Bordeaux part and much bigger things have leaked before...

He's talking WHEN they started, not IF they started. Of course they would've started, but there's a break inbetween the last release and new development.

They apparently started working on 5 before 4 was even out of the door, around 2007. Which means they've probably been working on 6 since 2012 at the latest.

No, Sam Houser (?) said they started development (brainstorming may have been before that) for GTA5 around the time TBOGT was almost done Development, plus you can tell from the buglogs that development properly started in 2009. Either way, different times, different measures, so far all I've heard leakers and others talking about is that GTA6 started development a while after GTAV came out, brainstorming may have been floating around after GTAV came out but then The Benz thing happened, who knows what happened there.

plus there's this

"We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do,” Rockstar president The Benz told Develop. “We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas."
