Damn missed the hype train today and new to the community. Waited throughout 2009/2010 for RDR by myself so this time I decided join the community to help with the wait this time around. Thinking about the eventual release of the next trailer/information I went and did some analysis on the length of time between RDR's original Debut trailer and the second official "My Name is John Marston" trailer. RDR was announced officially on Feb 3, 2009. The debut trailer was launched on May 6th 2009. The second official trailer was released on Dec 1st 2009. For those that remember, after that second trailer launched R* pumped out screenshots, short character trailers, updates to the official website and those glorious gameplay trailers fairly consistently up RDR launched on May 18th. Of course after GTAV god know's what their model for marketing will be like this time around. But there was roughly a 7 month gap between that first RDR trailer and the beginning of the information blow out beginning in December 2009. I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere but the way I look at it R* is right on schedule and we will see a trailer or further information with the next 2 months. This would coincide nicely with ramped up marketing for a late fall release which would be similar to how RDR was released nearly 1 year after its debut trailer. But these are just the ramblings of a mad man. I know nothing more than all of you. Cheers

So apparently IGN Gamescoop teased some game/news/ announcement this weekend. Also stated that "a big thing happening next week probably by the time we record this show next week." I'm guessing the new CoD. But imagine if it's RDR2

I don't know about others but i had no expectations on some kind of reveal today. But I been saying from the jump R* seemed to be setting up for a e3 reveal but im liable to be wrong too tho. I tell you 1 hope we get some kind of hint @ the earnings call with "very soon". Even if its delayed at least hit us with a Trailer #2. A few e3 "leaks" are under the impression RDR2 suppose to be there. The event usually knows who will be presenting something months before hand. We have waited this long, and the sketchy email & tweet from ethan seemingly might be play out idk. We kno r* are masters at "Buying time". And like i said these next 2 months will are crucial for T2/R*. I see Significant marketing starting Q1 or Q2 Fy18 something new and innovative.

Good thing Rockstar isn't running out of ideas. Amazing how they manage to keep GTA Online fresh after almost 4 years! You'd think it would get boring after all these years. But no! The developer that keeps on giving with yet onother brilliant update that will please GTA Online players for at least 1 week before they look forward to the next update from Rockstar.

I know my contributions to this thread have just been debbie downer posts, but ya really can't draw any significance to arbitrary milestones...nothing implying anything special about a date apart from round numbers will definitely artificially increase yer hype if that's what you want, but surely you can subsist off of the cosmic background hype emitting from the release of the trailer for a few months

 

Also online retailer dates are always bunk, even when they're not.

 

Embrace only the highest quality verified leaks and hype sources, get a fukin' water filter on this thread and procure the concentrated pure hype juices and shun the snake oil giving you an artificial high

GTA V was announced in late October 2011 with a trailer, they then waited 8/9 months to release 2 screenshots in an A&A post in July 2012 and then a further screenshot series in the August 2012 which was 10 months after announcement, and then nothing again until November/December when GameInformer and other websites had the big info drop and they revealed it would be out in "Spring 2013", which was a whole year after announcement. After this we had some screenshots and such and then in the January 2013 it was delayed until the September.

 

In other words, sure a lot of other factors might have been involved in GTA V's delay and it's not going to be exactly the same for RDR2, but we have no idea whats going on or whats planned behind the scenes and they'll do what they want. Essentially we waited almost 2 years for GTA V to come around, even longer for next-gen and PC, and here we are 6 months after RDR2 announcement crying for info They didn't need to care about it back then, they don't need to now. I would LOVE to see some screenshots, I don't even care about a delay because I know it'd be worth the wait, but no amount of adoration is going to make them budge.

GTAV was never scheduled to release a year after. Thats my point. By E3, they'll only have like 4-5 months to go into FULL FLEDGED marketing. A release date, special editions, trailers, previews, gameplay series, etc. Doesnt seem plausible and Im hoping Im right
