Red Dead Redemption 2: Discussion & Speculation (Part 1)

How long do you guys think it's going to take Rockstar to announce the release date? Or even launch a trailer? I think probably like 15 to 30 days.

Release date for the teaser trailer could be on October 24 or October 25 (giving a little nod to GTA V's teaser), also count how many days the teaser for GTA V to GTA V's teaser trailer (the trailer came out 1 week and 1 day). So yes, I'm expecting personally an October 25 trailer date (on a Tuesday).

The question shouldn't be "what points towards anything else?", but "what exactly points toward Red Dead specifically in such a manner that anything else should be included"?

 

Well, everyones been expecting a new red dead since 2014. And R* posts a picture with their symbol on a red background on all forms of social media without any context. And if thats not enough proof for you, then I dont know what to tell you

 

Which also begs the question, why wasnt this posted in the gaming section titled "New Bully being teased?" Why are big sites like IGN and gamespot titling their articles with "New Manhunt being teased?"

 

Its just common sense and R* knows what they're doing. If they were teasing Bully or something else, they wouldve made it a bit more obvious

Even if it was 99.9% sure it's about Red Dead, there would still remain 0.01% chance it's not.

All of the articles talking about an RDR2, the "leaked map" for it, this latest thing is clearly RDR themed, it's RDR, it's no way it's anything else - they wouldn't have another IP match the other one so closely. It is defintiely RDR.

 

More goes on than just secrets with this stuff - all the "RDR speculation" has been to build up investors excitement. You gotta realize we fans are the end result, hyping us is the last thing - the rumor mill hypes up their investors and attracts new investors as we lead into these more official hype things.

 

If you have been searching Rockstar Games news over the past 6 months, it's been ALL "will benz effect gta 6 release date"? and, moreso, "Here is what we're hearing about a possible RDR release" - no one talking about bully series, midnight club, manhunt, la noire, max payne - none of that has been receiving pre-hype - only the "current game" (gta) speculations, and the next one. Not even "agent" being talked about - this is "definitely" RDR for those reasons, and can be seen as fact, no need to doubt it imo.

 

Another clue: The staff of this forum is not dumb nor especially out of the loops - so you see it is posted AND pinned here in RD Series, not in the general R* subforum which is where I tried to put it, because I for one don't "know" it's RDR, but they might. That's more circumstantial than the rest, but it's still there, so.

 

 

 

Red Dead Remaster

 

I'd actually be totally fine with that, my gametime with the original was very limited, and since I have ps4 and not xbone, I can't play it through for myself. I got to play around a little on a friend's copy before and watch some vids - I'd like a remaster on PS4 and/or PC, but I highly doubt that's all it is.

yeah but this red-with-blood-red-grit-splatters is already set in stone the RDR theme/branding/IP-identifier for rockstar games.

 

I wanna hear something about agent, too, but this is RDR branded stuff, it's not anything else.

One COULD argue this is a remaster coming and not a sequel since it matches so closely - but it could be a sequel or a remaster, we can't say for sure. But FOR SURE we can say this is definitely Red Dead Related.

I don't think R* is going to change the saga's look and feel like that, so using that "rd3 must be red too" logic makes perfect sense.

I doubt R* would pick the color red to represent Agent, it would be awfully misleading. The Max Payne series is done by the way, they are not releasing new ones.

No, the line of thought for RDR is totally different (because it is easily supported with 3 major and viable points):

 

1: It already matches the exact branding theme of RD series and its cover art and all artwork: Red base with blood red grit details

2: It is posted - BY staff who Rockstar like and they are not left out as much as the rest of the world - AND pinned - in RD series section, NOT general rockstar games section

3: Red Dead, other than GTA 6 on clickbait sites, is the ONLY game being pre-hyped. No one is talking about bully, max, agent, midnight club - none of it. RDR just got backwards compatibility, too. Which has greatly improved its sales and pumped it back up. RDR is being pre-hyped for investors. Fans/gamers are the LAST to hear it and first to have it CONFIRMED. It's here now, after "whispers" for the past 6 months to a year.

 

These are three really solid reasons.

 

The main one - that this image on their site today IS the exact already-established IP-owned theme of RDR:
