I've got an old, leaky hype-o-meter, it drains down to empty in about a week. So Rockstar's "marketing campaigns of silence" piss me off plenty good. It's now been 60 days since the last RDR2 info.

Did anyone else genuinely enjoy the fighting in RDR1? "Normally I don't fight animals" *punches horse/kicks armadillo*. I must've spent at least 7 hours punching things in RDR1, the fact that after enough punches, your opponent catapults and that it does no damage letting you do it nonstop without repercussions was greaaaaaaaaaat.

I hope they don't gimp the fighting in RDR2, I want to be able to punch my horse while having my protag spew out trash talk for extended periods of time.

It was actually pretty fun in multiplayer when your punches didn't kill players, but would only knock them out. You could have fights on top of high places trying to drop the other guy down. I'd love to have a fight like that on top of a moving train in RDR2.

Gathering the whole Free Roam lobby and packing into a saloon in Armadillo was hilarious. Good ole fashion western saloon brawl!

 

Hopefully, this time which I can almost guarantee we'll be able to this time around is drink in the saloons in multiplayer. Drunk bar fights anyone?

The fighting mechanics aren't fundamentally bad, they're just so boring and don't work in MP because of the Halo 1 netcode. There's really nothing novel about them, other than the range on the sprinting punch, which isn't as fun as shoving people into walls or off ledges in IV or punching people indefinitely in RDR.

Yeah especially the Pro because of the alledged internal mandate to all developers and their support of Pro going forward since its release.

 

Given Sony's partnership and deal for RDR2 they'll push a Pro bundle at release for sure.

Someone who I know works at a studio in Dundee (tag games) You'd be surprised how many devs cross paths or who have worked together in the industry previously. He is very excited about red dead 2. I talk to him on messenger sometimes and we talked about the game yesterday. He knows nothing , no secrets. But he heard there will be a Christmas little surprise. It's not 100% but I'm confident.

 

I can't speak for him it didn't come from me. So I can't verify it , but I'm choosing to believe it. It's not a huge deal.

 

If it doesn't happen, oh well. It won't be long until there is more information

Found the original article with the time on archive.is. I guess that unless they are posting it on the 25th, they'd already have posted something by now as they posted the GTA V one at 12:01am of December 24. All they want us to enjoy now is GTA Online.
