Not as long as GTA V's one-year drought. We are not going to pass April 2017 without new information. 6 months of drought at maximum since October, which is only half of GTA V's!

My thoughts exactly. While I agree with saintsrow that the GTA V drought was terrible, the difference there was they did not set a release window. Here they did. As well, GTA V was announced before the release of MP3, which means we knew it would not be heavily marketed till after that game. Here we have had no new games for 3 years. Something unheard of from R*. This time it will be different. Trust me

I can only hope you guys are right. Rockstar marketing has to come back a long, long way, to re-earn my trust and respect. GTAV marketing was actively, intentionally infuriating.

All I know is that during the run-up to GTA San Andreas, it seemed like the marketing was handled better, and we had a lot more fun on the GTA Forum discussing the info being released. But that might just be a wishful memory.

I also have to add, though I hesitate to do so, that I recall that the RDR marketing was pretty sparse also. We got a dump of nice screenshots once, and I used one as my wallpaper, while waiting for RDR release. Seems to me that wallpaper was on my computer a looooong time.

The longer we have to go without information, the better. The less information we get the better. I can't speak for everyone but I really enjoyed being totally surprised by GTA V when I fired it up. It all felt fresh. This is how Rockstar markets their games and I like it. Giving away everything before a release is not my idea of fun.

I could agree with this if it weren't two years between a trolling teaser and the actual game release. I'd like to be suddenly surprised by a game that gets announced with a sure release date only a couple of months out.

A real surprise, for example, would be an announcement out of the blue that a new GTAV map expansion is coming out in two months. Can you imagine the hype, the pre-orders? Now that is what I would call a surprise.

PSX HYPE, probably our last real chance of seeing RDR2 in 2016 IMO

Do you think Rockstar will reveal anything in the foreseeable future? Could we get a christmas gift (alike to GTA V back in 2012) of screenshots? or will they go silent until sometime in 2017?

Rockstar Vienna

Not sure why this needed it's own thread but yeah, i think they'll drop a few screens right before the holidays. If not i'd say March would be a good time for more info.

Assuming they're still on track for a Fall 2017 release, I wouldn't expect any new content this year.

Maybe they'll release a screenshot or something before the year ends, but I doubt that. And I certainly would not expect a trailer or other similarly big reveal.

I think we'll get a new trailer around March, and maybe we'll get some screenshots before March.

Agreeeee!

I don't know how many people remember the times leading up to GTA IV's release, but information was even more sparse than GTA V! There was never any gameplay footage, only four trailers, screenshots, and artwork.
So firing up GTA IV for the first time and playing it, everything felt so new and incredible. Driving through the incredibly detailed city, seeing the advanced ragdoll physics, it all felt amazing.

And even though Rockstar released a lot more information for GTA V (such as actually showing gameplay), they still kept major components to the game under wrap, so firing up GTA V for the first time also felt like an incredible experience.

I expect the same from RDR2!

It will be silence until Spring 2017. I believe that there will be a Game Informer cover story either in March or April, accompanied by a second trailer. From that point, RDR2 will be the center of Rockstar marketing and the newswire will be flooded by Western themes contrary to what we have now (GTA Online). This thing continues for 6-7 months until the game hits the shelves in October (more likely) or November. Gameplay video series? there will be similar to RDR and GTA V.

(Don't forget to mention my name in your Youtube channel :santa: )

I dont think we will see anything before January 2017. My best bet is the first 2weeks of Jan.

And as for GTA V screens, it came out as a new year gift in January and not in Decemeber. I could be wrong correct me if I am.

Is it just me or did he hype for this game completely die???

I'm so so hyped for The Last of Us Part II, for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, for Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, etc. but I am not hyped for RDR 2 anymore ... I must say I was little hyped from the beginning.

Also currently playing The Last Guardian ... a masterpiece!

They have a vintage looking map in the background of the R* Newswire website. Is that more to do with the RDR remaster, or something else?

Been discussed before that they seem to just be veins.

I'm still hyped but the anticipation is not killing me. And time really flies. Almost 2 months have passed since the announcement. Christmas is almost here and games like RE7 and Horizon will make they wait much easier during the first few months in 2017. And March/April should already bring us the next big RDR2 details if R* sticks to their release plan.

Hype is only created when the product developer keeps sharing new information and media, which is not the case so far with RDR2, the game which has went undercover since its announcement almost 2 months ago and will most likely continue at this state all along the chilly days of Winter. The truth is that we like to keep our bodies warm under the blanket these days, and RDR2 is no exception!

Thats what happens when you announce a game a whole year off with a trailer that tells you jacksh*t except that its gonna look good.

The reveal trailer was R*s weakest reveal trailer in years. At least GTAV teaser gave us a look of what to come and what to expect. You cant tell jack sh*t about RDR2 from that trailer

Rockstar is a pioneer in the jacksh*t school of video game marketing. Getting better at it all the time.
