People seem to forget that it was never Dutches gang .Thats why I believe its a Sequel not a Prequel. Remember the Story John told the McFarland's the Leader of the Gang "Went Mad" thus the reason the Government never went after him. Everyone talks about the electrical grid with realizing the Heartlands didnt get a electrical grid until the 1900s . The East coast had electrical power years before the heartlands. People forget the Way GTA V Started off in the Past. I think Now we will get a couple of missions as the Leader in the events leading up to Johns getting shot. Then we continue with Jack as one of the playable characters.

You seem to forget that it was Dutch`s gang, and Bill Williamson is clearly on the artwort of RDR2. You also seem to forget that GTA V and RDR2 are two different games. Just because they had a prologe in V does not mean RDR2 will.

Red Dead Redemption is about the dying west, wouldn't make sense to move forward...Not to mention Buffalo were near extinct by 1911 that's why in RDR there was a limited amount and well there seems to be a lot more based on the trailer. The artwork also confirms John Marston, Bill Williamson, and Dutch Van Der Linde having some type of role so it HAS TO BE A PREQUEL which isn't bad if they follow a new storyline with a new character. For what we know, this game could "feature" the failed robbery (that happened on a ferry in 1906) and maybe our main character plays a role in saving John. Either way it makes the most sense for this to be a prequel.

Would be dope if we saw the robbery. This is how the events took place in RDR in John's memories.

Notice I said start as a Prequel......Missions in the past . Im Just saying I have never known for R* to label a game numerically and it was not set after the events of the last title.

Well only one problem with that, "the strange man" says it happened on a ferry so...

Do you think a Red Eye will be available for all protagonists or we'll have different abilities as we have in GTAV?

Dead eye? Hard to say. Right now we don't know if there will be multiple protagonists. Multiple abilities...like horse riding skills? Panning for gold skills? Squinting and chewing a cigar skills! That might be the "red eye" skill.

I hope there isn't a brown eye skill.

Still nothing? I think we all expected this. Hoping for some bit of news in December.

I'm thinking, some news in April, maybe a couple of screenshots. Rockstar marketing has probably completely forgotten about RDR2 by now.

If that's the case then Rockstar is probably like, "What is this RDR2 that everyone keeps talking about?"

I'd wish they made the game GTAEFLC style. Where at the beginning of the game you pick one character you want to play as and then play the whole story from his point of view. All character should follow the same story but with there own stories as well . That way you would understand a character better. That'll will have loads of replayability as well. Oh well , one can only dream lol

Nothing really but Zelnick has spoken a few words.

"Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has shared some new insight into Red Dead Redemption 2. Speaking today at an MKM Partners event, the executive first discussed the reaction to the game's announcement in October. "Not shocked, very pleased," Zelnick said.

"Lastly, Zelnick teased that Red Dead Redemption 2 will offer "incredible emotional depth" and more.

"You can expect there to be great story elements and great gameplay elements," he said.

Damn good news. I hope to hell they deliver.

He added that the game's announcement trailer has picked up more views that what the company expected. Overall, "anticipation is enormous" for the open-world sequel, Zelnick said.

Usually when CEOs say sh*t like this, it's just shareholder hype. But I can and do believe this one. Perhaps Rockstar does not quite realize the reverence that we bestow upon them. Perhaps TTWO thinks that Rockstar Games is just a video game developer, cranking out product for the twitching, drooling masses. At their best, they are much more than that. They are artists of the age.

'Incredible emotional depth' and 'Great story elements' are reassuring descriptions that Redemption 2 will build upon what made the first Redemption game successful and an icon of the PS3 generation, that is, an engaging and emotional story before anything else.

Idk why but "Story elements" scares me...

Wait, why would story 'elements' scare you? Elements of a story are characters, quests, happenings...

I saw that article get posted on Facebook. I think we all expect RDR2's story to be an emotional gripping story just as RDR1's was. So that article was basically rehashing what we all have been saying. It's good to see the TTWO CEO feel the same as we all feel.

Zelnick's use of the adjective "sprawling" gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. On the one hand, he could be engaging in hyperbole to buoy investor confidence; on the other hand, his job is also to manage expectations and keep them commensurate with reality (you don't maintain trust by always embellishing the truth)...so, with GTA4, RDR1 & GTA5 in his rearview mirror, to use the term "sprawling" for the RDR2 story...that seems to indicate confidence that RDR2's scope is bigger and wider than what we've seen before, to which I say, "YES, please!"

Like a certain developer found out with a certain space game. They seriously need to take some lessons from Rockstar Games. They bit the hand that fed them (any and all gamers that bought their game) and now they're paying the consequences for their action. I digress.

On topic: Rockstar knows their game will be a success and TTWO's CEO's confidence in this game shows it. I'm sure he'll get a nice fat check from this game so I know he's excited. I would be too if I was in his position lol

They could add a pink eye ability for after you've visited a brothel.

Me too! I think it's safe to say that the music will be dynamic just like how it was in RDR1. I love games where the music will change depending on where you are at in the world and or what your current actions are. Like when you are in a shootout in RDR1, the music will be fast-paced for example. RDR1 was a really immersive game and I look forward to experience an even more immersive world in RDR2.

RDR1 has pretty much already done the selling for RDR2. Say no more; just take our money!

Nonetheless, I want to see lots of RDR2 previews, screenshots, videos and developer interviews between now and RDR2 release, however many months or years from now that will be. And they better not blow it by putting most of their resources into PvP online.
