Is it confirmed that the 7 men riding their horses at the end of the trailer aren't the same men shown on the artwork? The trailer shows a a black man riding with the rest of the group, whereas the artwork shows none.

Nothing is confirmed... but I would say it's pretty safe to assume so.

No real reason why Rockstar would mislead you.

How I think the marketing will play out:

 

December 2016: RDR2 presence at PSX event - most likely a batch of screenshots

January 2017: more screenshots and artwork

February 2017: RDR2 Trailer 2 and Gameinformer teases/confirms their next cover story will be RDR2

March 2017: Gameinformer RDR2 cover story releases with lots of new information, screenshots, etc.

April 2017: more screenshots and artwork

May 2017: RDR2 Trailer 3 and official release date announced plus official boxart

June 2017: Red Dead Online announced plus first screenshots and information, special RDR2 PS4 bundle plus PS4 Pro support announced at E3 Sony press conference

July 2017: Red Dead Online trailer plus RDR2 gameplay series announced

August 2017: RDR2 gameplay series video releases plus more screenshots and artwork

September 2017: RDR2 gameplay series video 2 releases plus previews

October 2017: RDR2 Trailer 4 (launch trailer)

July 2018: boxart + terribly amateurish mural on obscure NYC building

August 2017: release date delay announced for "Spring 2018"

 

 

 

December 2017: gameplay trailer containing 65% cutscenes

 

 

March 2018: whiz-bang RDR2 online trailer showing incredible fun

April 2018 : RDR2 release, everyone plays SP for 30 minutes and then go straight to online

May 2018: unending crying about online problems

I fixed it.

PS: I love Rockstar games but I hate Rockstar marketing.

In RDR 1 i believe John mentions he has a daughter

 

yet she doesn't show up at the end

You not paying attention to the dialogue does not a plothole make. John tells Bonny she died in the same cutscene he tells her he has a daughter...

I'm not getting to hung up on the mountain scenery. In redemption there were lots of mountains also but they served as the edge of the map. Couldn't go on them the acted as a backdrop for the landscape. I see a similar idea here. Hope the map is as big as gtav though. Imagine going from the docks to palette on horseback. Ooooh the adventure!!

I just saw the trailer on tv during Sunday Night Football. I don't think I've ever seen a commercial on tv for a videogame that doesn't come out for an entire year.

ok granted that guy certainly looks dark but how can one say that none of the guys in the artwork are black since they are all black silhouettes I think drawing assumptions from anything we've seen thus far is just silly.

Maybe online portion will be released as a beta, and when the single player comes with, Online will be finished and released lol

I hope so. I want to play the Story Mode alone, and not with other people who may ruin the immersion of my gaming experience.

i think Rockstargames might be pretty sure about the release of rdr2. One thing i find intresting about the trailer is, the Release Date. Usually rockstar will just end a trailer with Coming Soon or just end it all together saying little of nothing. Usually only DLC from a rockstargames title gets a release date. (eg; RDR multiplayer DLC,Tbogt/L&D DLC,GTAO Updates) Rockstar for the FIRST trailer giving out a release date is intresting and could be a indication the game is in testing stages and could actually be released in the Fall 2017. Im not saing it wont get delay, i just hope it dont take years. Because they are dragging GTAO hard with them weak updates, i just want a new game already.

Aaah, the Dark Souls system. Everyone thinks they can replicate it for their own games, but nobody seems to understand why it works so well in the Souls games. You can't just tack it onto the game. It works in Dark Souls because of the covenant system and how it's weaved into the lore of the game, and the story itself. Without that, it's just f*cking annoying. It's definitely not something for every game. A game like this wouldn't be able to pull it off, and thus shouldn't even bother trying.

 

I'm fine with them having it like in GTAV where you can just switch on the fly between the two though. Instead of having to quit back to the main menu to load up the online mode.
