Jack Marston was an author.

 

He wrote if I'm not mistaken, a book titled 'Red Dead Redemption'.

 

What if RDR was just a story that Jack Marston was telling, and John, his father never "died"? Jack growing up and killing his fathers killer could have been a part of the story, in the end, making Jack look like the hero? All up from Bonnie liking John, but John staying true to his marriage because Jack idolized his parents.

 

Doubt it, but how cool in a twist of events we find that to be true?

I Think plausible If you look at the Architecture from that town its brick wich if is in austin would be after Read dead redemption ,,, Maybe abigil told the story to jack... the Brick architecture says 1914-1920s.. in the midwest and

How I think the marketing will play out:

 

-Come January, R* will wish us a happy new year and show us 2 new screens that dont show the main protagonist. They will be 2 environmental shots

 

-Come very late January, GameInformer will tease their March cover reveal. They will say something along the lines of 'one our biggest exclusives yet'. This will cause mass speculation

-February first, it will be revealed that it is indeed, RDR2 and they will post the cover to Twitter.

-The next day, R* will announce that the second trailer will release February 27th. and along with that post, They'll share the first screen of the main protagonist (the brown jacket guy) but will not disclose his name.

-The community is going crazy with anticipation but come February 27th, we get our look at the story, combat, firm release date, name of the protagonist and more.

-The same day, R* posts a plain text article in the newswire. They disclose the name of the protagonist, the October 24th release date, and posts several new screens.

The next week, GI gives us loads of info from a demo that they were previewed.

 

Then April 20th, we get an announcement of a gameplay series, "Life in the West" with 5 videos coming throughout the next 5 weeks. Detailing Single player, combat, multiplayer, features, and more.

June22nd comes and we get our first official boxart and a special edition and collectors announcement followed by more screens

 

July 11th comes and R* tells us to look out for the premiere gameplay debut of Red daed online the following week. Going more indepth than the sneak peeks found in the Life in The West gameplay series.

 

More previews come out July 17th with online impressions.

 

August is a drought month but we get a few screens and 30 second trailers for important characters including the protagonist. And the website launches officially

 

 

September12th, we get an announcement of an official story trailer coming september 19 and that it will premiere in theaters before movies and that it will premiere during Better Call Saul and Mr Robot.

 

October3rd, multiple sites get previews and post them online.

The next week, they release their online hands on impressions

 

October 23rd and we get reviews with multiple 10/10s

R* games always have huge press previews to build hype

Is it just Rockstar San Diego working on this or is it Rockstar Studios/is Rockstar North helping out? I hope it's not just San Diego.

I went through the supposed leaks of the Reddit user who released the map and details about the setting being a prequel.

Well many did not notice that Irish is supposed to return to RDR2 according to the leak.

So IRISH in RDR1 was played by K. Harrison Sweeney.

I found him on twitter and tweeted asking if had anything to do with the next RDR to which he did not comment.

But he did end up liking my tweet and his twitter Bio also reads Irish from RDR. Does this mean that he actually makes a return?

I've yet to find out what this game's about - I've seen the trailer and it looks pretty interesting so far. My friend mentioned that this game was like GTA except on horses. LOL.

Going back to the theory about Jack Marston telling the story as an elderly man, maybe the story could be told by his son (John Marstons Grandson) instead. That way it could open up the possibility of playing a very small portion of the game in the present day (as Jack's son). It would just be a miscellaneous mission of walking to a grave site in the modern day version of the game world, kinda like how at the end of UC4 where

you take control of Nate's and Elena's daughter

Is it confirmed that the 7 men riding their horses at the end of the trailer aren't the same men shown on the artwork? The trailer shows a a black man riding with the rest of the group, whereas the artwork shows none.

I haven't really seen this mentioned but if the game is going to be set in the 1880's, then the chance of John Marston being in the game is slim. He was what, in his 40's during RDR1? So he would roughly be in his teens during the events of RDR2 since it appears to be set several decades before RDR1. There would definitely be a different voice actor to play a much younger John Marston if he even is in the game.

Got a link to the leak post on reddit? I only ask to give it a good read considering the map didn't get leaked on reddit first to begin with so I think someone there was yanking your chain. lol

That's what I'm thinking. These 7 cowboys at the end of the trailer seem generic and don't resemble the characters in the artwork. The way they were riding together while their faces are covered and their different weapons being drawn don't fit with the rest of the trailer, which was a scenic presentation. I can't help but to think that the last scene is a reference to an Online-formed gang of players.

Nope. Its 1.5 times bigger than red dead 1.

I hope the leaked map is real and R* doesnt go crazy on size of the map again. I hope they focus on world building and mechanics and gameplay. Big ass map does not equal good map
