ahh I remember being this excited after I saw the very 1st GTA V trailer....lol its nice to be on the other side for once, not that Im no looking forward to it...

 

I loved RDR, my only red dead game so far....but not into the whole cowboy thing.....still RDR and online on ps3 were fantastic and being a R* fanboy apparently ill deffo be getting this

 

 

 

imagine if the map is bigger than GTA V, remember there are no planes

Oh yeh. Hard to imagine anyone never picking up a razor and changing the style of their facial hair.

 

 

Rock Star San Diego, not North, is the lead studio for Red Dead.

Not anymore. RDR2 is developed by Rockstar Studios, whereas RDR1 was developed by San Diego.

Rockstar Studios is just a moniker used to signify more than one Studio is helping out, technically ALL future games will say since Rockstar India is an art sweatshop so majority of new art will come from there, NYC will always be involved as that's where Production goes down and Lincoln at least get a credit for the translations now too.

 

So what was previously just two studios being credited (e.g. Rockstar NYC and San Diego) has now expanded into more than three where the "Rockstar Studios" name is used.

Iirc, NYC is where the Publishing Group is, not an actual developer studio.

 

It's like Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. One is the developer studio, the other is the publisher.

 

 

New York is where the audio mix, voice recordings and motion capture is conducted among other things so yes it's technically a studio.

 

Even when Rockstar took on the "Rockstar Studios" moniker to publicly signal a collaboration between multiple studios there was always a lead branch. For Max Payne 3 it was Vancouver, for RDR it was San Diego and obviously for GTA it was North. So San Diego is likely the lead studio once again and while all 7 studios have been helping out, an interesting thing happened this year where one of the outsourcing tech studios that Rockstar have been using since RDR was officially absorbed into the company to become it's 8th studio - Rockstar India. They were formally Technicolor and according to their various Linkedlin profiles prior to becoming Rockstar India, many of them had been working on new animal and creature AI etc which were some of our first clues to RDR2 obviously being in development.

 

People seem convinced that this will be a prequel and we will play as part of Dutch's gang with many saying that we will be playing as John once again. Is this not a bit too predictable to be actually exciting? I really hope we don't play as John. Before I would've said not a chance but lately my faith in Rockstar had begun to wain.

 

It seems likely we'll be seeing or playing as someone in Dutch's gang but whether we're John? That seems more unlikely, he's not even front and center in the key art and will likely just be a supporting role?

I'd have absolutely no problem with John being a featured or major character just not the protagonist. If we play as a new character e.g. the guy in the middle for example it could give us the opportunity to interact with a much wider cast of characters both inside and outside of the gang. We could even get a chance to see the likes of Land Rickets when he was more in his prime. Given John's age though it would mean that if he is in it then the game will be set relatively close to Redemption 1 which could be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

Related to it, but obviously if they chose to go about a prequel there would be plenty of fresh/new things to experience and gaps of information to be filled. What we know is pretty vague and nothing too in depth. And what we know is pretty much only the experience of one of the gang members. Assuming the prequel speculation is even proven true tomorrow

I am very eager and anticipatory to view the full extent of the Red Dead Redemption: 2 footage tomorrow morning.

 

It is sure to be picturesque and unprecedented in the realms of geography, verticality, scope, graphical fidelity, depth of field, draw distance, tesselation, volumetric lighting, and microcosmic detailing, the latter of which is always just one cornerstone of astonishment, with a Rockstar creation.

 

My postulation is such that Red Dead Redemption: 2's debut trailer will tap into the truest and rawest epitome of Current-Gen and realism, as vested by Rockstar's own lexicon of those words. This trailer, and ultimately the finalized iteration of this game, will serve as a benchmark of transcendence, in that it will definitely be a good determinant of, with all due respect to the nature of this thread, the power that Grand Theft Auto: VI will be able to churn out within a few years time.

 

Also pertaining to the Red Dead Redemption: 2 trailer, I really do think that Rockstar is going to seamlessly blow away Red Dead and Grand Theft Auto fans collectively, from the character renderings of John Marston and company to the R.A.G.E. engine, right down to the intricacies of an equestrian's leg structure, tail and the glistening ends of spurs.

 

It really is exciting for everybody because this will be the first time within three years, that we will be able to gauge just how the structure of a Rockstar game has matured and will operate on Current-Gen platforms. The absence of the previously encountered limitations and other impediments will really enable Rockstar to drive and enhance the immersive experience that many have been so yearning to reach.

 

Saddle up and brace yourselves, ladies and gentlemen.

 

Rockstar North's arsenal is still very much locked and loaded, much like the 6-shooter revolver that you will brandish within your very own arsenal, as you trek through Rockstar's revitalized portal of the Wild Wild West.

 

This new perspective and true transition of Rockstar's gaming framework into the altruistically and unutterably spellbinding world of true Next-Gen drive, power and torque has been so sought after.

 

It really has, and definitely by myself. In principle and execution, Rockstar had intended for the framework of Grand Theft Auto: V to be Next-Gen. Such as with the Emergency Lighting System.
