Dude, these effects are awesome! Mod works perfectly on SA-MP for those who wants to use it on SA-MP. No advantages over other players and works exactly the same as if i was using it in singleplayer. This is really awesome, and finally something different from overdose and any other effects mod

Would be great to use ps2 object.dat as a base for the destroyable statues in the atrium (if it wasn't using it already).

Alright, so. I've tested this mod and it seems that some effects are looking weird or some don't even exist.

 

For example, grass effect, it doesn't exist. Fountain effect, it stops for a few seconds before starting over. Explosion is not good, not bad also, the fact that the blowup effect disappears so soon makes it look unrealistic. the weapon muzzles, same texture and effect is used for half of the guns. Swiming splash seems a bit pointy which makes it a but unrealistic. Burning fire of Molotov or Flamethrower look laggy. Texture quality is low, you could've used Magic TXD to compress textures if size was going to be an issue. The mod is called "Remastered Effects | Particles" while I don't see an actual modified particle.txd, only the effects.

 

I can list even more issues with this "remaster", I'm not a hater or something, I actually think you deserve a cookie for *coughs* remaking all the effects. There are actually some good stuff like the nitro, car heat and gas trailers effect.

 

These were just my feedbacks on your modification. Hope you could improve it over time.

There is a mud effects,only one in the fxp file used for all dirt on ground when you drive with a car,I can't add flying grass,it's not cartoon!

Explosion length comes to the crashes when is about length,in skipping cutscenes mission,and It will be even shorter,cuz I found few crashes already..

SO you want muzzle texture for each weapon,even GTA V don't use that,OK,Done = TXD will be 100mb in the end If I start to complete your wishes

Who said it's cartoonish? I drove a car on grass and had a friend film it for me, there were grasses which were cut and thrown up in the air, I couldn't do the exact effect due to GTA: SA's sh*tty limitations.

You can just import a few textures to be used by all muzzle effects and have them look differently when they appear. Just like Project Overhaul or Overdose effects.

The fire looks like it's burning very fast, perhaps you could slow it down a bit.

You can make it on several different settings like New Great Effects, or use 512px textures, I'm sure every potato can run with 512px effects.

I sure did do that, hell, I even played the game from the very start to the end once and even done a few missions twice which I felt were necessary when I was working on Project Overhaul.

I know the fact that gta sa works like a greedy bitch when it comes to fxp as I had a lot of troubles with it.

In version 2 please make the water explosion bigger and add a script which make CJ or Ped go up and then fell down when they go near a open water hydrant.

lol as far as I've checked, you forgot to enable DTX Compression on your textures.

The original game doesn't have compression on these textures after the mess that was Vice City compressing them (seriously go compare), so it's only fair to keep any modded ones uncompressed too, it's not like people can't handle uncompressed textures these days and size isn't much of an issue anymore for particle and effects textures.

You know that if you want that stuff compressed you could (Just use magic.txd like you mentioned), I actually tried it and you know what: It totally destroyed the quality of the effects... Never ever do that... ever...

Is anyone getting crashing with this? I tried this on a clean game and in singleplayer and it seems like im getting crashes from some effects, usually when i collide into something.

 

EDIT: its the .cs file that is making me crash lol

Ezekiel did say he found some crash issues and is gonna fix those for v2. Personally I haven't experienced any of those.

@Ezekiel, the both OverdoseEffect and you RemasteredEffect crash my game due to this error: 0x004A2CF3. It crashed when any particle textures are created (appear) in-game - maybe I hit the limit of particles in game? Note that I use also OLA and FLA, but seems that couldn't help. The game still crashed at any attempt. Someone can help me? Thanks!

Ummm i get a crash when i install this for some reason i in stalled everything correctly even used modloader but it crashes, anyone have the same problem or know a solution?

Petrol effect still not work on my game.. And it causes crash every 2 min play.. After deleting the .cs file my game work properly..

 

Just get some inspiration. Could you deffered the light on sa... Just ask not mean to push you up

Or people could upgrade their PCs. Wanting to use mods on ancient hardware is kinda ridiculous.

 

With more modern hardware you can use 1K, 2K, and even 4K particle\alpha effects and you get no lag whatsoever. If anything the textures used in this mod are relatively low-res.

 

Edit: My Vice City particle.txd is 113 MB in size (and it will only get bigger).

Most textures are not very large but all of them are uncompressed. I have some 4K fire textures that I haven't put in the game yet. Too bad the PC versions of III and VC only have 2 frames for fire (Xbox versions have 20-30 frames for flames). I could have made it look quite realistic.

At some point though it's just diminishing returns. For a particle TXD, 113MB seems like it's just way over the point of being visible in this engine.

It doesn't affect my performance and you need higher res textures if you play in 4K.

4k particle.txd vs a max of 1024xsomething world textures should look weird af though, since VC doesn't have proper high res retextures lol (it needs a hrt project 😏 looking at you flame 😆).
