gta sa starting new game everytime when loading savegame

So, everytime i try to load a save game, the game just starts from the very beginning. I have the Steam Version v3. The game used to crash when loading a save game, so i downloaded one of those script.img modifications. Now the game doesn't crash but instead starts from the very beginning. Any way to fix this?

This sounds like you are Not using your own saved games.

If the Version 2 or 3 game .exe tries to use a V.1 game save it starts at the beginning.

 

Down Loaded (STEAM registered) games, v3, can use V2 (DVD) saves, but not V1 (DVD) saves.

 

You would need to change both the script.img and the main.scm.

 

I used to have both sets to play the "Chain Game". My normal game .exe if v2.

But since I had to replace by system (thank you Windows 10 virus) they have not been working on my system.

Try deleting one of the old save games and save your new game on that save slot. Worked for me.
