Anyone think this Biker DLC was a mistake?

Being a president to a MC seems like a mistake and the businesses produce at a snail's place.

The bikes and clothes are cool but why did they have to throw in the money making aspect of it which teased us into spending many millions in virtual money.

I can make as much as my heart desires with one week of being a CEO. I don't think I can make as much as I want with this DLC because it goes at its own pace. The only thing I see myself doing a lot more is driving back to the clubhouse every 10 to 15 minutes just to see where I'm at with supplies. That is a chore.

Crate missions were not a chore since we can stop the missions and move on to VIP/CEO work.

What do guys think of it?

EDIT:

CEO and Biker don't run at the same time. You can't do CEO stuff and have the Biker businesses make you money. You have to choose if you are a CEO or a Biker. I flipped flopped between the two and every time I went back to being a biker, I noticed that the business left off where I quit.

I havent done it yet personally, but based on what I read I think iys nice. Its a passive way of making money, which is great. If you want to actively make money then do CEO. Diffetent ways to play.

Because it's not all about making (pretend) money, it's about having fun with new things to do and new missions to play. You don't have to spend 'many millions'. You can spend as little as 200k on a club house to get started. If you splurge all your cash on everything in the DLC straight away, that's on you.

Who's the jackass telling you how to run your MC? Who made you buy a bizness? Point him out and I'll straighten him out!

with that kind of a logic, GTA:O was/is a mistake!

I finally got time to spend an entire day playing it and I felt R* could have done a better job streamlining both President and CEO together. One is essentially passive income but doesn't offer much in other departments. Also, the business stops producing when you become a CEO. At the same time, CEO offers you much more rewarding jobs and plus the crate missions.

I wish we can become both and not have to pick and choose between the two.

I wasn't teased into buying businesses because I didn't stupidly run right in and buy everything.

Maybe you should learn that lesson.

It's an awesome update, and you can make tons of money. Just get the supplies for your businesses and do CEO stuff or missions or whatever, then just sell when your workers are done.

And you don't have to check up; you get multiple phonecalls when supply runs out (pretty annoying).

I dont know about the businesses, but i love the new weapons, bikes, (esp hakuchou drag) and property which gives us ten extra spots for bikes. I am waiting before i buy businesses to see what people can find out about them first.

That being said, businesses actually sound pretty sweet too. There is an upfront cost, like ceo warehouses, but from there on it is mostly profit, minus some expense. Unlike ceo, however, these businesses can be run passively without your involvement, for the most part. In other words, you can do something else while your businesses generate goods to sell, like crates or vip work, then come back and sell for a big profit. This makes it possible to make even more money than before, since you can still make about $200k/hr doing vip, then make a big sale in between vip work every once in awhile.

Yeah, the startup cost is high, but in theory, it would pay for itself and after that allow you to make more money than before for the same amount of time. Seems like a win to me.

Yes, but when I swapped to CEO for 10-15 minutes to do a mission, I swapped back to a Biker and saw that my supplies and products didn't even budge. I believe everything stops as soon as you quit. I don't believe it runs concurrently.

Not a mistake, I'm sure many of y'all will appreciate it, but my interest faded away very quickly when I had seen what a huge money sink it is yet again. And I'm just not up for the grind that GTA is anymore. Bought a few bikes that look fine and some of the clothes, then off to other things.

I haven't bought it to make money, just something else to do. Pac Standard funds most, if not nearly all my CEO and Biker Businesses.

I stopped and became a CEO and switched back and my products and supplies were the same as I left it.

It is passive income when you're a biker. It's doesn't make you money when you want to do the CEO work while you wait.

This is IMO the best DLC for GTA Online so far.I love everything in it,the bikes, the clothes, the weapons, the clubhouse...

It's too early to say for sure I think - I haven't become as efficient as I could be at grinding it. I think it's a side-grind though, to be left running while you grind something else.

Prices seem kind of steep though.

No becuause this DLC is how ceo work should have been the entire time. I dont understand why do people on this fourm and on SC keep asking this question. Its like all you want is massive amounts of money in the shortest time possible.

I can understand that but at the same time you ignore all of the great varied missions that came out with this DLC that IMO are 30x better then ceo mission's

You should try to enjoy the features of the game for what they are and not be so pressed on making money.

The business/criminal underworld aspects of the game are meant to be fun, not an exercise in accounting and smart fiscal planning. They make you money...cool, they don't...oh well, but as long as you're having a good time in the game it all works out in the end.

Unsure why a DLC needs to be grindable to be worthwhile.

Since I've never been particularly a bike person, I initially thought there wouldn't be much for me with this DLC. However, I'm honestly enjoying it very much and I haven't even bought a business or taken my MC to a public lobby. I've had a great time running the solo jobs that are available from the board in the clubhouse, buying/customising the new bikes, and actually learning to appreciate motorbikes more as a whole. It's actually caught my interest, and now I'd like to break my old habits (of avoiding public servers) and give the other options a try in the near future.

If the business side hadn't been added, you would see complaints about there not being much to do aside from riding and buying new bikes. I think it's a good addition; it's honestly too bad that R* did not implement some of these concepts earlier on and tweak them as time progressed. Sure, the costs are a bit high and I'm more or less broke (by current GTA standards), but I don't need unlimited or quick money to enjoy this game. I like a challenge and for me, it isn't about grinding or making as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time--it's about finding things that are actually enjoyable within the game and hoping that like-minded individuals exist within the community.

Being sort of a lone wolf type and not really getting into the whole free roam battle scene, I am still initially hesitant about exploring the business aspects of the DLC, but who knows, if I find the right group and lobby, it could be a positive experience and open my eyes to a new element of game play.

So, no, I don't think the DLC was a mistake at all. The mistake was not adding better hairstyles and clothing, but I won't get into that. :p;)

Not sure I can agree with one thing the OP says.

Last night I waded in and bought the whole lot - all five business and everything else... but I had so much fun with my new clubhouse, the hierarchy, the NEW specialist bike garage - a sixth storage spot - all those amazing bikes and the amount of modifications to them, I didn't even bother with the business, and will do that tonight or another day.

Like R3CON says above - if you do something just to make money, without actually enjoying any of the new toys, what's the point of it all?
Why not carry on being a CEO and grinding crates if that's the most lucrative way of making money for you?

This is a time to enjoy and rejoice in such a marvellous new update. I'm loving, and business will take care of itself later on...

From what I was able to play around with, this DLC seems like a great addition for the Biker community. One of the best features has to be the rank system and allowing more than 4 members. I don't think it was mistake, but this content does not appeal to the masses like the others before it. I had 3 players on my friends list tell me yesterday they are not into this stuff. I am not a biker fan, but even I believe Rockstar should have dropped this a lot sooner. The community was strong years ago, and I don't know if this is enough to bring them back. I hope so though- the BC gave lobbies more "personality."

A mistake? No not at all.

This is a roleplaying update, not a make money as fast as you can update.

Exactly this. It's far more enjoyable to do this than it is to do CEO work, and not just because it's new (although that helps). You don't need to spend more than $200K on a base clubhouse to get all of the entry level benefits (a club, a 10 car bike garage). That's about what a 10 car garage costs.

You can skip all the upgrades if you want to be frugal, and you can skip the businesses if you're not interested them. My CEO empire is a waste, I never do it, so I just skipped it. I can play my friends' businesses if I want to enjoy it.

Ergo, this didn't cost nearly that much and I'm slowly growing back what I spent just doing the game modes with friends. Good enough for me.

btw fun fact: the wolfsbane is slow as sh*t but it looks nice and the rat bike is slow as sh*t and looks like sh*t.

i spended just 5.7million buying all the clothes, a clubhouse and a forgery business, now my job is to make that money back by any means.

I don't care about making money anymore, I bought the sutff purely for gameplay and snapmatics.

The only f*cking mistake was taking a sh*t on anyone who used the helmet/mask glitch meaning this can't be a thing...
