Spaghetti Cat Posted October 4, 2016 Share Posted October 4, 2016 This new series is a remake/reboot of the classic 1978 film. After a long production the show premiered this past Sunday on HBO. Centering on robots that live in a theme park and preform for the guests. The robots gain consciousness and turn on their masters. Reminded me a lot of RDR quite a bit. Anybody else catch this? Never having heard of it before I saw the original 1973 movie before watching the first episode. Really cool concept IMO. Star studded cast. Will continue to watch. He seems to have a knack for writing about futuristic theme parks gone horribly wrong. The first ep was great and I can't get enough of Ed Harris and Anthony Hopkins. Great casting. I think they swapped him from being a terminatoresq dude to represent us, the players, when we want to go all "evil." Seeing the robots become self aware is fascinating and scary. Also pretty neat how R* is teasing a new Red Dead whilst this show is going on. The way the show transitions to a Western from Sci-Fi is remarkable and it is done perfectly. If the movie is as enjoyable as the show then I'll have no choice but to watch it.
