I'm sorry but this is what the bike reminds me of(holding in a fart or severely constipated bike) lol this guy bound to a chopper for eternity for not farting when he needed to. but don't get me wrong, i'm not hating on the sanctus. I've wanted a skull looking bike ever since i seen the hexer version. Forty-Five-Auto
That skeleton looks like it's hooked up to a medieval torture device and look at where the rider sits, it should've been called the LCC Sodomy. Garland137
That's what I'm saying, the overall shape is similar, but when all the details are completely different I think the resemblance becomes very weak. My mistake and yeah, as much as he wants it to be a C-01, it's still a tron knock-off to everyone else. Lol.But that's my point: other than the glow pattern and the fact the tires are covered, the Shotaro has nothing in common with the movie Lightcycle. If people can't look past some fancy stripes and see that the design is overwhelmingly Lotus, I don't know what else to say. It's plain as day to me that the bike is a C-01. R* couldn't make it more obvious unless they offered a green and yellow livery with a big manufacturer logo. justdie

It's not like an incidental detail that you can pretend isn't there. I think the fact that you want it to be a C-01 so badly is clouding your judgment. Garland137
I'm not "wanting" it to be a C-01. It IS a C-01. Paint is superficial; it doesn't change the physical lines of the bike. I'll get one and paint it in Lotus or JPS colours and it'll be even more obvious. The tire covers are removable, which just leaves the wheel covers, which are distinctly inspired by Akira. The Lightcycle has hubless wheels. And it has extremely fat tires, a riding position so far forward you basically lay down, and a glowing and fully-exposed engine. Not to mention the glow pattern is totally different and consists of fine lines instead of the huge ribbons the Shotaro has. You guys are looking at the most superficial stuff and ignoring the rest of the design. Do I have to photoshop a chart to demonstrate this stuff? No, you just have to accept that other people don't see what you see. It's always pointless having these discussions because if you don't agree at the start then you won't agree at the end. Commander S
Eh, from where I'm sitting, it really does look like the combination of 'C-01-ish overall design' with 'TRON: Legacy-esque custom bodywork and light stripes' was a deliberate nod to the fact that both were designed by the same guy (Daniel Simon). Pretty inspired, IMO. Garland137, Jusa93, [email protected] and 2 others

Garland137
Does anyone have any profile shots of the Shotaro? A nice straight-on shot of the side? Apparently I have to do a full comparison. I'd say if only it looked just like the C-01 which is a beautiful looking thing, but yeah it might have been better if they hadn't mashed up three bikes together and had either replicated one or mixed up the best of two. reform and Initial.Dinka

Apparently I have to do a full comparison. Y'all need glasses or something. You sound like the guys who swear the Tampa is a Boss 302 because of a hood stripe. Here's as close as I could find, in terms of matching-angle shots: Seems like instead of the usual R* trick of mashing-up two different real-world vehicles, they took the C-01 and just warped some of the shapes a bit (the slanted intake, for example, compared to the flat, vertical one on the C-01), and then slapped things like a generic seat texture on for good measure. As for why they didn't go with something more overtly 'light cycle', I'd guess it was to keep the thing somewhat rooted in the real world, especially for Freemode use (since the energy trail only works in Deadline games). A C-01-ish superbike with custom bodywork and lights isn't a total departure into sci-fi - even though some bright sparks have made working TRON motorcycle replicas. And it's not like licensing is an issue - Saints Row got away with a near-exact copy of the TRON: Legacy cycle, (apparently) without any issues... If anyone looks at those and doesn't think the Shotaro is a C-01, they're blind. If you're looking at that and honestly telling me it's the same bike then...well. You're certainly not in a position to be telling people they need glasses would be a polite way of putting it. You'll find these things annoy you a lot less if you can accept that you aren't always right and even when you are, people are allowed to have a different opinion to you. Jusa93
The C-01 influence is obvious, I don't see how there's even an argument over it. The overall shape is almost identical for Christ's sake. If it didn't have the Tron-esque lights and you took the wheel covers along with the fenders off, it'd basically be the C-01, just a bit bulkier. Too bad that cannot be done, it would be one sexy ass bike if it was possible. Oh well, still looks quite nice blacked out - I'd love to see it in pure black without the fenders. wink wink Garland137 and justdie
