Looking good!

 

R* made a huge mess with dynamic shadows in this game (broken shadows everywhere especially on trees), IMO you should remove all the vanilla dynamic shadows from the collisions and re-create them from scratch (if you aren"t doing that already ofc).

 

Also DK's shadow extender is a nice mod... however it has some annoying bugs, hopefully this will be resolved when/if the shadows from VCS:PCE get ported over to SA.

@Ezekiel, in the near (or far) future we will play sa with the shadows being rendered from main model of the building maps, not from their alternate shadow meshes via colls, by a big graphics mod, e.g MMGE mod.

However, although you already know it (I think), but u still make this mod, which shows me/us that you, as the other modders, still respect the vanilla stuffs & features of the game, you all still keep its vanilla soul -->I recognition of this.

and hope this mod will soon finish and we will again hit the road soon.

The GTA SA is still a long way ahead ... :rol::sarcasm:

@Ezekiel, may u also in next time creat a mod to make the veh lights look like GTA IV/V? I mean the Dynamic PerPixel Lighting, like this:

(I guess u will name the mod "Insanity Dynamic Lighting")

I love the idea, and so far, your progress looks really good. The beauty of it is in its versatility - you can use it alongside other graphic enhancing mods, or just with vanilla San Andreas - in both cases, it'll do its job.

I'll definitely be following this thread, with my fingers crossed.

im just waiting to see some insanity progress but this is awesome too

well yeah...I remove shadows from all objects..they have holes and they broken...

haha...Do you realize that-this looks ugly..who ever made this....flickering shadows-amateur job...

this does not have anything to do with me-or even realistic...

 

What a great mod..!! How about real tree shadow..?

tree shadows...well....but It will eat FPS and it comes with limits also : Certain number of mesh on object which mimic shadow...

Only HardCore CPU Will run Smooth GTA SA With tree shadows.....So am talking about CPU like 3.5+ghz.

ME, this my idea came from SA::Render by DK a long time ago, and the pic I provided is from him too.

Perhaps we must still wait, and wait..... untill gta sa reaches to the "ULTIMATE" point! At which the game have been fixed & improved in every all!...

@Ezekiel: I have a question: the shadows of map & objects, they are attached into the .col files - I know, but also the .dff files too? What do the DFFs in your current pack role?

I had a mod like this a few years ago, I found it on a Japanese site though. At that time my pc was crap and it lagged alot so I deleted it (how stupid of me bcus I cant find it anymore :facedesk: ). There was also a mod similar to modloader way before modloader was released, but it was just with IMG files only which was a lifesaver, and gtaforums never knew about this when I researched it at the time.

So yea this is nothing new and it was done before, but it's good to see someone finally shed some light onto this. Good luck with this project!
