Yankton plates switched to Nevada white/blue plates!

Recommended Posts

Hi there. From one day to another my Yankton white/red plates got replaced by white/blue Nevada plates. The trainer shows Yankton plates but when selected I get the Nevada plates (they have a sort of effect on them like a mountain or something). Does anyone have any idea how this happened and how can I fix it? Tyvm in advance...I hate those Nevada ones...Yankton look so much better.

Did you install any mods that could've done that?

Well, I installed a visual mod called QUANTV. I have no idea if that can affect it. I noticed that when opening the trainer, the license plate regarding Yankton says blue/white and not its default color which is white/red (if I'm not mistaken) Other than QUANTV I only have replaced cars...could it be some extra in whatever model that changed the last plate on the trainer, Yankton to Nevada! Ty for your reply, I appreciate all the help of can get.

Looking at the screenshots of QuantV, San Andreas plates are replaced by real life California ones so I'd assume it also replaces the Yankton plate. All mods featuring new/custom license plates usually replace existing ones - Yankton to Nevada in your case - there is literally only one add-on license plate mod in existence that doesn't replace existing plates.

If you want to get it back without uninstalling the entire mod, you'd have to extract the original Yankton plate from the original vehshare.ytd and import it to the modded vehshare.ytd.

I was suspecting something of a kind since it was around the install of QUANTV that things changed,,,wasn't sure though. And yes, I didn't notice the plate changes in the screenshots of QUANTV. Must pay more attention next time. Would it be too much trouble to ask for a small tutorial in order to achieve what you suggested me? Despite installing mods, the whole GTA V folder's structure is somewhat confusing! Tyvm for your reply.

In the main GTA V folder, go to x64e.rpf > levels > gta5 > vehicles and open vehshare.ytd. Extract "yankton_plate" and "yankton_plate_n" textures. In the mods folder (I assume that's what you're using) go to the same path (x64e.rpf > levels > gta5 > vehicles) and open vehshare.ytd. Scroll down to the bottom of the texture list and replace "yankton_plate" and "yankton_plate_n" with the original ones you extracted.

If you want to restore all the plates, you can do the same thing or simply copy and replace the "vehshare.ytd" file itself.

Just an update. In both folders the vehshare file is exactly the same! Am I missing anything? In QUANTV page it says license plates are placed in, amongst other files, update.rpf but I can't find them. Ty in advance.

Update - mod author placed files in update > update.rpf > x64 > patch > levels > gta5 > vehicles.rpf > veshare.ytd

Replacing them right now, should be fixed. Will leave some feedback.

Update - problem solved. Tyvm all.
