Why both Infernus and Turismo Classics are in the Sports Classics class?

I mean, they're both based on classic SUPER cars, they should been in the Supers class since the beginning even if they're not competitive at all. Or at least put them in the Sports class. They don't belong among old Mercedes and Maseratis.

Also the naming, why "Classic" if they're cars from the 80's/90's? When I think of "Classic" cars I think of 50's/60's/70's cars. "Retro" could be a better naming choice IMO.

^especially baffling since the GP1 and Penetrator are cars from the same year range and get classified as modern supers.

Penetrator (1992 Jaguar XJ220) = Super

Infernus Classic (1990 Lamborghini Diablo) = Sports Classic

Really? Two years difference justifies putting them 2 classes apart??

Maybe it's my age (I can remember when the Countach was the current Lamborghini), but I still look at the Diablo as a modern car. I wouldn't lump it in with something from the 70's or even earlier.

I always liked skirts on certain cars growing up but I barely use any in the game. Loads of them look really cheap and tacked on, proper skirts fit the stock bodywork a lot better than these. I think with the Lynx they aren't even attached to the car by a good two or three inches by the rear wheels, if that's intentional it's a new one to me.

Side note about bumpers, I get put off from these too quite a lot because of the pink tow hook, I'd like to be able to fit a custom bumper without having that stuck on there for no reason. Maybe an option to toggle it on or off for each bumper type.

I used to like the Mallard but I pretty much hate it now, how it handles that is. Of all the things in the game that need attention they f*ck with the handling of a perfectly good plane and ruin it.

All I want is at least one motorcycle offroad tire in LSC. Is that too much to ask? I don't even care if it offers any traction bonus. I just want to make some of my bikes look like dirt bikes

The Bullet would look stunning with a single stripe. What a missed opportunity.

Well, good news: that's been fixed (apparently the 'no turbulence' thing was a mistake). And I agree, it just felt really weird and arcade game-y. :blink:

New, general bitch-and-moan: along with my other fundamental pet peeve with GTAO cars ('never mix and match cars that have nothing to do with each other when designing cars, R*!' :rah:), the other one is this:

...can R* just fire the person/people responsible for the actual models of things like the Torero, Itali GTB, Lynx, FMJ, Reaper, and a whole bunch of other cars - ? Or at the very least, make sure they leave all the decent cars to the folks who did the likes of the Nero, Infernus Classic, GP1, Cheetah Classic, and (thankfully!) the Elegy Retro - ?

I just can't stand when some cars wind up with really awful-looking flat panels, sharp edges that cut off in a physically-impossible manner (i.e., there's been no attempt to make the thing look like it's made of actual physical materials, instead of just being chopped out of solid shapes in a computer), different textures that just intersect, rather than looking like you've got two differently-constructed surfaces, etc.

For example, look at the headlights of the GP1, and you'll see a glass cover, a detailed housing, and the actual light itself. Look at the rear of the Lynx, and the rear lights look like a flat sticker. Or bodywork - on things like the Elegy Retro, the roof lines, fenders, etc. all have little contours that suggest different panels underneath, just like a real car. Meanwhile, the ETR1 looks like someone hacked the shape out of a single piece of moulded plastic - or, more accurately, just took a solid block shape in a computer, and cut the shape of the car out of it in one piece.

Your mileage may vary, but it's always really frustrating, seeing an otherwise-decent car get handed to the people who either don't know how to model something with realistic details, or simply don't care enough to bother. At this rate, I'm almost glad R* hasn't added some of my favourite cars, because I'm genuinely worried that they'll come out looking like 'my first 3D modelling assignment' (assuming that R* doesn't just Frankenstein the thing to death by mashing it up with something woefully inappropriate...).

This pisses me off too. The F620's headlamp clusters are also a thing of beauty, but the Tempesta has pixellated "stickers" that only look right from one angle.

Progen GP1 (McLaren F1): Supers

Ocelot Penetrator (Jaguar XJ220): Supers

Grotti Turismo Classic (Ferrari F40): Lol sports classics

Ocelot Ardent (Lotus Esprit, 80-90s): Sports "classics"

Ok whatever you say R*. Sports classics is literally "anything between the 30s and 90s", Sports class is "anything between the 80s and.. uh... 2010s... some modified 70s cars are fine too...", Supers is "anything goes, as long as it could reasonably be in another class"

Coil Voltic, which is essentially a Tesla Roadster... LOL SUPERS. Ok? It's just a sports car IRL. Not an amazingly powerful beast, just a nice reasonably quick electric vehicle. Moonbeam in Muscle cars. Drift Tampa in sports. Coquette Classic? Uh... yes, sports classics! Even older Coquette Blackfin? MUSCLE!

Like, sh*t, you could expect them to add the GTA4 Coquette to Supers at this point and you wouldn't even be wrong to think that was a real possibility...

I wholehearted agreed with what you said, except about the Blackfin.

The Blackfin is a restomod, it has the drivetrain of the modern Coquette, and as such, it can't be a sports classic anymore than being a muscle car.

I swear to god I need to be a game/content tester. There is so much sh*t and so many mistakes that get overlooked and I don't know how tf that even happens. It's like they don't even spot check or test their content out. I could imagine. "Okay here is the latest content, test it out" and I'd have my journal ready jotting down all of the errors and flaws.

Broughy also would be the best option for car/content tester. Anyway, I'm f*cking tired of all this dripfeeding crap. Why haven't we still gotten a single car yet? How many cars are yet to come out, about 9 or 10? If it's one car each week, then it would take over 2 whole months just for all of the cars to be purchasable! Why, Cockstar?

Me too. I'm only really wanting one or two of the cars at most, and at this rate I'll be on RDR2 before I see the likes of the Cheetah Classic.

Only two things I'm looking for in the drip feed vehicles:

Torero and Cheetah classic.

I was also interested in the Ardent, but it doesn't look that good as a Spirit should look.

I just hope that the next batch of vehicles have proper looking dashboards that are appropriate for its design and does justice to the real life counterparts.

And I hope that the steering wheels doesn't block the dials, because that sh*t annoys me to no end on the Nero, Tempesta, Penetratos, Comet Retro, GP1, Turismo Classic and Infernus Classic!!!

It's really amazing how they can devote so much time and resources in perfecting the lightening, movements of staff and objects inside a bunker that is manufacturing weapons...Yet fails the most basic stuff with CARS, THAT ARE MEANT TO BE THE FOCUS OF THE f*ckING GAME!

The thing that bothers me about the drip feed vehicles is that we already know about them. It makes the wait so much more painful. I would rather they not load them all in months in advance where they're so easily discovered. If they just dropped completely by surprise it would be so much better.

Why can't we choose the handling of the Mallard ?

When R* set it to 11 (hypersensitive)

I was actually ppanning on buying the [email protected] thing ! I just waited to see if they would release the Rustler... and they didn't.

Now the Mallard just feels like a stupid generetic plane AGAIN!. Finally it had something unique, that made it stand out from all the other planes... and then R* decided it was just a f#cking joke.

Huehue no fun allowed !

Also, just let be control the gun of the apc while driving... I don't care if it would then be a less powerfull, tbogt-like gun (the gun is twice as powerfull as the rhino currently, right !?) Then I would actually buy that too !

Ui ui ui !

I'm still not impressed with the Vagner but it's name is the only thing going for it to me at the moment because it's a play on R. Wagner.

It's not that great on technical stunt tracks like people claim. I beat my Vagner time in both my X80 and Nero C.

E: I did 20 laps on Pier Race with my Vagner, best lap was a 2:05.

I did 5 laps with X80, Nero C and times were almost 3 seconds faster. No shortcuts other than the second loop which the Vagner struggled with. The bottom kept clipping the ledge.

I decided to move my posts to here because they were not appreciating the car of the thread where they were posted, so here it is:

I hate the fact we have to duck down to read the speedo in first person,

Look down hitting 160mph under the bridge heading into Strawberry after blasting down the freeway,

Look up crash straight into the back of a Albany Emperor.

This is the bane I have with at least 99% of cars in this game.

The main reason why this happens is because R* has only modeled one driving posture that they used for all cars.

Have you even noticed that, when driving, the legs of our characters are bended inwards too much? Thats because they designed how our character looks with the Weeny Izzy in mind, because the Weeny Izzy is one of the smaller cars in the game in the tiniest interior.

You can verify this by driving a Izzy and ripping the door off, then moving the camera around until you see the feet of our character, you will see that the feet properly lines up with the gas and brake pedals.

If you drive a Schafter, Alpha, Windsor, or pretty much any other bigger car, you will notice that the feet won't reach the pedals, because the characters are using the same posture they use for the Weeny Izzy.

As a result, they had to design the overall dimensions and position of the dashboard and cluster of the cars with the line of sight of this posture, used for the Weeny Izzy in mind.

Couple this with the fact that some clusters like the one in the Schafter V12 are too large(which is why they are placed above the steering wheel instead of inside the upper gap of the wheel), and that some steering wheels had to be placed lower than the dashboard(because of the posture of characters adopt when driving), and you have clusters being blocked by steering wheel.

EDIT: also some steering wheels are too small, a good example of that is the one we see inside the Rebel or Slamvan.

And also some dashboards styles and dimensions literally don't fit the car at all(Grotto Brioso, BF Surfer, Stirling GT).

I never see the dashboard, least not in FPV. I like the hood camera more.

And you're honestly not losing much:

-RPM gauge is useless since we don't have manual transmission(besides the car models indicating otherwise) and all cars only shift up when they reach the redline;

-Fuel gauge is useless since there's no fuel consumption in the game(minus in single player when the gas tank gets pierced);

-Coolant temperature gauge is useless, since it only shows overheat when the car is ready visibly smoking from damage;

-VAC/Blower gauges are useless, since...well they don't have any proper function in this game at all..And they don't even work properly;

-The side and interior mirrors are useless because they are blurred;

The only usefull thing is the speedometer, and it's largely inaccurate.

why, of all possible weaponized vehicles to make, did they choose the awful Tampa? There were so many better cars to use. even a weaponized regina wouldve been better.

I hate the fact that way too many cars in this game don't behave at all like their RL counterpars.

A Ford GT (FMJ), a Tuned Viper (Banshee 900R) and even a Type 57 (Z-Type) with a higher top speed than a Veyron (Adder)?

The 811 having the highest top speed and very bad handling, even when the car that is based on (Porsche 918) is totally the opposite, even setting records in Nurburgring?

The T20 being AWD even when the P1 is RWD? Also a wasted opportunity to put KERS on a car in the game.

And don't get me started on the poor GP1...

That does piss me off. When the T20 was "broken" on last-gen I liked it more because it actually handled like it was supposed to. It felt RWD. Without being broken it doesn't feel close to what it feels like in other games and the steering feel is a lot more bland. I still have mine but it's not an every day driver for me anymore like it was before I upgraded.

The Ganulet is an ugly afterthought!

Who the hell slapped Camaro tail lights on it's back, just like that?

And the front fascia and headlights are out of proportion and very low rez quality.

R* ruins good muscle cars and just do their best with super cars, biased much?

Typical of so many of the cars that came with the game at launch - and, having played GTA IV recently, the HD era as a whole, IMO. See also: the baffling decision to stick a Z31 Fairlady front end on the Ruiner, the front end of the Peyote (Mafia II did much better with the 'Smith Thunderbolt'), and I'm still not entirely sure what was going on with the design of the DF8-90... :blink:

We're mostly getting better on that front - and I chalk it up to R* realising over the years that GTAO players want cars that resemble their real-life favourites, not just disposable 'generi-cars'. GTA IV was a real backwards step from San Andreas in terms of car ownership/personalisation, IMO, and a lot of early V cars have the same problem.

Granted, there's still issues like the FMJ - I get the feeling that some of the vehicle design modelling bods aren't up to the standard of others (because whoever did that one clearly didn't do the sterling job on the Elegy Retro or GP1!). But overall, customisation options, fidelity to source, and model quality are mostly getting better, for some cars at least.

...shame R* keeps prioritising high-end YouTuber bait, rather than affordable enthusiast cars - as much as I like the job done with the likes of the GP1, I'd also like to see that level of care and attention lavished on something like a 5th-gen Civic or a '70s Plymouth Fury, not just yet another super or whatever. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
