Majestic81
Has anyone seen this yet? Its a cartoon show on Netflix. Bill Burr got me into it. He's one of the creators and he voices the dad in the show. Its a cartoon but its not really for kids. Its f*cking amazing. First season consists of 6 episodes that you can just binge watch on Netflix. They're working on a second season now. The show basically has this serious and realistic moments where it kinda reminds you of your own family, but then it switches to being funny and hilarious again in an instant. Really cool sh*t. Burr is as funny as ever. Edited September 11, 2016 by Majestic81 GTACollectorIII, OREOBOREALIS, Pavle and 2 others
PhoGarrett
Liked some of the gags and love Bill Bur's standup but the whole series fell flat in general. Around the end of the first season I started laughing a bit more so maybe season 2 will give Family Guy a run for its money. Mister Pink
Yeah watched it when it first came out. I thought it was great. It's like a throwback to old sitcoms I used to watch growing up like Married With Children. I like the way it's more like MWC or The Simpsons season 1 than Family Guy. I love Family Guy but I like the more realistic and comedic element of suburbia. The suburbs and family isn't just a setting for whacky humour like Family Guy it's about family and the suburban life. Of course a lot of it is based on Burrs upbringing which I enjoy. Edited September 11, 2016 by Mister Pink 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

OREOBOREALIS
This became one of my favorite shows. Too bad it now ended at season 5. Just watched the last episode. I was wishing to see more like years passing and even seeing 1980s in it.. Probably re pinge watch the whole thing later again. I hope there will be similarish show from the creators of it. Or is there already? i dont know. Also damn did not remember it was december 2015 when it first aired. I thought it was 2017 maybe. Time flies. Bill Burr should get in to more adult cartoon stuff. His good at this. Edited December 25, 2021 by Mktz1 Mister Pink and Ivan1997GTA
paperbagdude
Perhaps among the most underrated animated shows. No one really talks about it and it is a shame. Since the co-creator and voice behind Frank is Bill Burr, it is no wonder why the comedic aspects of the show is brilliant. Also after watching several of his comedy specials for the past years, I have been able to recognize several references to Burr's personal life among the characters of the show. Bill Murphy (who appears to be redheaded like Burr) would be the infant analog of Burr himself, growing up in the 70's with a resentful father and the social and familiary social struggles he apparently went through. Frank Murphy on the other hand would be the adult analog of Burr - a man of temper and anger as a result of his repressed emotional childhood trauma. A man that will act either aggressive or defensive when ever confronted with challenges that conflict or vividly relate to said trauma. So not only is the show hilarious for its comedy provided by Burr, it is also pseudonymic intimate drama based on the experience of a living person. Otherwise, it's gonna wear out its' welcome and dip in quality, much like the Simpsons and Family Guy in recent years. I wouldn't mind if there is going to be a sequel to this show that's set in the early 1980s, featuring Kevin, Bill and Maureen in their late teens (or young adulthood in Kevin's case), and maybe a fourth, younger sibling. Though, I can't imagine what the scenarios would be for them...maybe it would be a cynical take on a 1980s afterschool anti-drug special, where Bill and Maureen accidentally get hooked on cocaine, which is said to belong to Kevin. Mister Pink
I haven't got around to watching Season 4 but loved 1-3 because it kind of filled that void The Simpsons left after season 6. Family-focussed story narrative that deals with really familial issues and doesn't go too much into the absurd. Well, it is really absurd at times but it manages to stay grounded. I love Michael K. William's character. Lots of gold lines. "Don't improvise, this aint Jazz, muthaf*cka." Shadowfennekin and Ivan1997GTA 2 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲 𝙽𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝚃𝙾𝙿

I should watch it sometime. Ivan1997GTA
